here the same issue and not only BBPress but BuddyPress in creating groups faces some issues
I thought it might me version incompatibility but after updating some major versions the issue is yet unsolved my theme is also updated and I’m using a famous LMS theme I mean I do not think its theme related I think some plugins that I have installed maybe not compatible with bbpress and buddy Press
here is my site too اینترلن
I would really appreciate if kindly help me
I am planing too implement both to my app too
I also see this freshness problem. Just updated to 2.6.2 tonight. I do not run bbp style pack. Will the plugin mentioned in this thread fix issue or only if you are using bbp style pack?
Good day!
I have updated the bbpress plugin on the site and the automatic marking of notifications as read once the link is clicked seems gone. I have reverted back to previous version to make this work.
Can you kindly advise for a solution to make it work for the new version of the plugin? I would be hassle to click on the read link to clear up notifications.
Please advise. Thank you!
I tried @robin-w your requested setup (with the new plugin deactivated).
It was as we expect. Creating the new topic shows the freshness correctly. Adding one or two replies only shows the freshness correct in the forum that the topic belongs to. The parent forum of the sub forum has not been updated with the replies freshness.
I am afraid it doesn’t work.
I specifically added a reply to the public forum in my public category.
At the top of the screen it said I had updated it 1 second ago. I then clicked the “Frequently Asked Questions” breadcrumb. That was correct and listed 13 second ago.
Then I clicked the General Information category breadcrumb and it is wrong. For FAQ it is listing 4 weeks 1 day ago. Similar if I click the root breadcrumb. 4 weeks 1 day ago is the last topic freshness that is in the FAQ board. If i look at that board now I 4 posts. The penultimate is the one I added a reply to which says 3 minutes ago. Then there is the final topic with the freshness that is reported on the category index.
It simply is not cascading freshness at all (for replies) to parent categories and up.
What I don’t understand is that we can run the repair tool and it works so why can the logic be used there in a localised for to fix this?
Shall I deactivate your plugin?
Andrew
PS. the post in question was closed but it allowed me to add a reply, and as I say on the actual forum page the freshness is correct.
Hi all,
I have updated bbPress to version 2.6.2 and after that [bbp-forum-index] does not show the full list of forums.
The list of forums includes private and public ones and as strange as it seems the ones that are missing are one of the private one (the last in the forum list order). The forum itself is configured exactly the same away as the other one which is listed/showed perfectly.
Any idea of what can be wrong and where to look at?
Thanks in advance,
Joao
I can’t create a new forum.
When I want to start a new forum, I get information:
“Sorry, you do not have permission to edit this entry”:
https://snipboard.io/9ThQ4W.jpg
I am logged in as an administrator with full rights, wordpress is updated to the latest version, I installed the plugin several times and the same error every time.
What is wrong? Why can’t I add anything?
I’m having the same issue. On the main forum index page, the freshness listed for each forum is not being updated. On an individual forum page, the list of topics has the correct freshness.
One additional oddity I found is that, in the Index, if I click on the “time of the last entry”, I will normally reach the thread in question; however, in one case (in the Showroom), clicking on the time associated with what is said to be ‘Michele aka micfin’ thread, it only directs you to reply to a thread that is not even displayed.
It is the only place I see something like that, and that time is way off as there has been many many replies since, on the topic she posted AND on other topics too.
In fact, when you go in the SHOWROOM forum, on top, it states:
“This forum has 84 topics, 4,935 replies, and was last updated 5 days, 3 hours ago by Michele aka micfin.” which does not even match what you can see below.
The same thing happens in the LET’S TALK section, where it says:
“This forum has 88 topics, 488 replies, and was last updated 2 days, 14 hours ago by Ken Veal.” while this is also inaccurate.
Strangely, in the LOBBY, it does display correctly, even if there were replies.
@johnjamesjacoby they are sorted in the exact opposite order in the Forms List Widget. They are listed correctly in the All Forums area https://community.careerpivot.com/all-forums/
@robin-w I have updated multiple of the forums and even tried changing the hierarchy to see if that might make a difference.
I would be happy to create a temporary account with appropriate permissions for someone to take a look. Just email me at marc@careerpivot.com
I just update to bbPress 2.6.2 which did not change anything.
@robin-w If it helps, I did a search for _bbp_last_active_time
in the post meta table and only one entry had today’s date (the reply I had made).
I then did a search for my forum in question as “post_id” to see what it shows:
_bbp_last_active_time 2019-11-20 19:01:31,
_bbp_last_active_id 3546,
_bbp_last_reply_id 3546,
_bbp_last_topic_id 3546
If I then run the tool to get the freshness correct in the forum and examine the same records again:
_bbp_last_active_time 2019-11-24 08:06:38,
_bbp_last_active_id 3580,
_bbp_last_reply_id 3580,
_bbp_last_topic_id 3546
So the database is not getting updated with the freshness and it is not a caching issue.
@maksanse
Translation of bbPress 2.6.x is being updated. Hopefully by next weekend all is done.
Hi,
I have just updated to 2.6.2 your just released version and it still does not work.
Regards
Clive
Just updated the plugin, and it’s working again! 🙂
Big thanks for the quick fix
Hello !
I updated bbpress to version 2.6.1 and noticed that several words were not translated anymore (I own a french website), especially in freshness :

I used to edit those translation with a plugin called “Loco Translate”.
So I went and checked if those words (ago, months, months, day, days, etc.) were still correctly translated in french version, and they are.
So, is there an issue with translation since 2.6.x release with the freshness labels ?
Can you help ?
Best regards
I got it to work. I updated my phpbb install to 3.2.8 and used wurkagency’s script (https://pastebin.com/0QQbxL4z).
When I click reply to a reply in a topic I am unable to type in the Visual Editor box. I can type into the Text Editor but it will not show in the Visual Editor box.
The forum-beginner-posts plugin was updated a week ago. Since that is the plugin that adds in the visual editor, I’m wondering if that update caused a conflict somewhere, maybe with either the bbpress or buddypress plugins?
WordPress 5.3 running Boss. Child Theme theme.
bbPress Version 2.6.1

I have seen that users (all guests) do not get any indication what happened to their post (all go to moderation). If it is blocked a message is shown, if it is OK all they get is the form going blank.
this was happening before the update to 2.6.0. I have not updated yet as on my development site I still cannot see sub forums.
After applying the latest BuddyPress plugin update to bbPress 2.6.0 the Forums List Widget now displays the forums in reverse order on the dashboard.
I updated the bbPress to 2.6.1 but this did nothing.

In your category and forum tree, which areas is freshness not updated correctly? Can you repeat the problem 100% of the time? If so, what are the steps to replicate? (For example, that problem isn’t happening here on bbPress.org, so we need to figure out why not.)
Trying to figure out what has happened.
I know I have updated a handful of other plugins after upgrading to 2.6.1 so I deactivated all the plugins that I had upgraded and nothing changed.
What I find strange is that the section called “Showroom” does show the topics inside on the forum index but not the Lobby or the Let’s talk section, so it would not be something affecting all the forums/topics like a plugin conflict.
I have BuddyPress and bbpress style pack active, but even if I deactivate them, those topics still don’t show on the index page.
What else should I look into as POSSIBLE culprit?
I’m currently having this issue on one of my forum. I’m an administrator. I can’t type a reply in Visual, but I can type in the Text tab. Running bbPress 2.6.1 and WordPress 5.2.4 (bbPress updated automatically but the sysadmin has to get involved to update WP)
I got the update and updated, but this did nothing, still no threads being displayed.
Updated to 2.6.1 and it was solved for a few minutes, but now, it is no longer showing the topics.
