Trying to figure out what has happened.
I know I have updated a handful of other plugins after upgrading to 2.6.1 so I deactivated all the plugins that I had upgraded and nothing changed.

What I find strange is that the section called “Showroom” does show the topics inside on the forum index but not the Lobby or the Let’s talk section, so it would not be something affecting all the forums/topics like a plugin conflict.

I have BuddyPress and bbpress style pack active, but even if I deactivate them, those topics still don’t show on the index page.

What else should I look into as POSSIBLE culprit?

I’m currently having this issue on one of my forum. I’m an administrator. I can’t type a reply in Visual, but I can type in the Text tab. Running bbPress 2.6.1 and WordPress 5.2.4 (bbPress updated automatically but the sysadmin has to get involved to update WP)

I got the update and updated, but this did nothing, still no threads being displayed.

Updated to 2.6.1 and it was solved for a few minutes, but now, it is no longer showing the topics.

We used the plugin “Moderation tools”. I deactivated that now (I just saw that it was updated a long time ago)…

Us there any possibility of holding topics for moderation without a plugin? Some bbpress native function?

I updated the plugin and the problem was solved, but now, a few minutes later, it is no longer showing. Strange.

Hi there,

I’ve updated the plugin BB Press to the latest version (2.6.1), but the subforums display situation isn’t solved (We have 2 forums (Defense of the ancients & Legion Tower Defense) with subforums associated – The 1st one displays them in a incorrect way, and the 2nd doens’t display at all)

Tried searching the previous topics, but coulnd’t find any information regarding it (after the release of 2.6.1)

After updated to bbPress plugin update 2.6.0, I am experiencing an error on my forum home login page where the table html is showing up on the page, instead of the actual text and link. See the link here:

Note that to get the forum formatting I wanted, I am also using several related plugins including:
bbPress Notify (No-Spam) version 2.5.6
bbp style pack version 4.3.2
bbPress WP Tweaks version 1.4.3

It is possible that the update is interfering with one of the other plugins, or vice versa. Any suggestions on how I can remedy this, or edit it to remove the table, would be appreciated. Thanks.

The plugin “Image and video gallery from Google Drive” provides a shortcodes is [sgdg path=”MyPath”]. I tried installing “bbPress – Do Shortcode” and it worked. However, the javascript file for loading is missing. Anyone can help me out please?

I looked at my local dev version of my website, and just updated the plugins without updating to wordpress 5.3 and it broke, so its actually the BBPress plugin itself updating that broke itself?

I suspect update of bbpress to 2.6 may be the issue – have you updated bbpress as well ?

Wordpress automatically updated to 5.3 and broke the forums showing any threads/forums, the title still shows for the forum you are trying to show.

In using bbstyle pack, when I have it set to have edit profile in the menu, it refers to this link…
/users/*username*/edit
… but I end up with an error page…
“Sorry, This Page Is Gone.
The page you are trying to view no longer exists or has been moved. You may try the search form below to find it.”

I also tried the bbstyle pack shortcode [bsp-profile] and same result as above.

What have you got set for dashboard>settings>forums>forum user slugs>user base ?
It is set to the default… I never changed it…

I found an old plugin as a workaround, but I would rather not add another plugin, especially one that is not updated for the past two years…

When I use that plugin, it works fine for profile edit… I put their shortcode in a sidebar widget… and it refers to this link…
/users/*username*/
… this link works to reach Profile.

Here is the problem…

I have my wp in a sub folder of the domain, WordPress Address (URL).
And, the Site Address (URL) is the domain root.

bbstyle pack is using the WordPress Address (URL) … adding the folder to the link string … and not the Site Address (URL)…like this…

/domain/folder/users/*username*/edit
… this will not work… “Page is Gone”

/domain/users/*username*/edit
… this works.

Is there a way to change the setting for bbstyle package to use the Site Address (URL) as opposed to the WordPress Address (URL)?

sorry, you might need to start again and express a single issue that I can try and help with.

1. At present I understand that you are using style pack, but have set to not have edit profile in the menu. I therefore do not understand what you are pressing/clicking/selecting that you need help with

3. I simply don’t understand what you are saying about what works and doesn’t work – can you write it again into one single thread. The default edit for profile is /users/*username*/edit. what have you got set for dashboard>settings>forums>forum user slugs>user base ?

Just updated and I am not showing any forums, I have reverted to last version and all well again. will try to look into it and report back but suggest everyone make sure they have backed up before upgrading.

WP 5.2.4 . BBP2.5.14 . I want to have my user’s comments on a post appear in the forum with perhaps the topic being the post title, rather than having a huge long list of post comments after every post. There used to be aplugin that would do this very neatly, bbPress Topics for WordPress plugin, but it has not been updated for several years. it seems like this is a problem that somwone would have solved but i cannot find a solution. Any help is appreciated.

Since you already have a large bbpress forum, then has this issue just started, always been there, have you converted from another, updated from 2.5.12 ???? some history would be useful

2.6 RC7 holds updated importers, but then you are running with an unreleased version

There are lots of discussions about this.

Pretty much all plugins are three versions of wp out of date. I don’t know which are stable to use. Since they are exposing source code I wonder if they can be updated?

Or is there a known up to date way to do this?

Robin, thank you for your feedback. I can see in this configuration that I have to click on the link included in the email in order to respond to the thread. Is it possible for it to be configured so that I could simply reply to the received email and the thread would be updated that way (and other subscribers also receive my reply in a second email)? (this was how yahoo groups worked and we really liked that)
