I’ve this simple problem
Topic: Foto upload
I’ve installed bbpress and WP
I’d like to know if users forum, can create new post attaching photos??
How many??? Can I create a forum post with many photos (not only 1) and allow users to reply?
Thanks
I’m using bbPress 2 sitewide forums with BuddyPress 1.5. I am using the bp-default theme and the bbp-twentyten default theme for bbPress. I can favorite existing forum topics, but they don’t show up in a user’s favorites tab in their activity stream/profile. When I click on the “This topic is one of your favorites” link, I just get redirected to the profile page.
Favorites in the activity stream itself are working fine.
Edit: specified using BP 1.5.1
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
When I first installed the plugin, after using the standalone version of bbPress, it appears as though some but not all of the posts on the standalone ‘converted over’ to the plugin. We still have the standalone live, as we work out kinks in the plugin, but how can I move the posts over to the plugin version?
You can see the standalone here: http://www.gogo-gringo.com/forum/
and the plugin version here: http://www.gogo-gringo.com/forums/
I hope to get some help ASAP.. I want to take down the old forum as soon as I can!
Thank you very much and thanks for all the hard work on the new plugin! (BTW I am using version 2.0.2 of the plugin)
I am wondering if there is a way with bbPress 2 to close forums to new topics, but allow users to reply to existing forum topics within that forum (or subforum). Ideally this would emulate the functionality of this bbPress standalone plugin:
http://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/read-only-forums/
Currently, closing a forum restricts users’ ability to create topics and reply to existing topics (including topics in open subforums).
I found someone else raising this issue in the WordPress forums, here, but wasn’t sure that it was the most appropriate place to ask the question.
Topic: Better Spam Handling
Spam is hard to deal with in bbpress, WordPress itself does a much better job. For one thing, I would like to see replies to see if it is really spam, but it doesn’t seem like I can view it without marking it as “Not Spam”.
Also, I would like to see a “Delete permenantly” button in the Spam list for both topics and replies.
I think that bbPress also needs better notification, or a setting for “Topics/Replies must be approved the first time”. I had 20 topics that were spam that had showed up in my forums, but I don’t get much traffic, so I didn’t realize they were there.
My website has already installed WordPress 3.2 at mydomain.com/blog/. Recently I installed the bbpress 2.0 plugin, trying to set up a forum for my site. However, from what I can see, I can set up the forum as mydomain.com/blog/forums/. But what I really want to do is set it up as mydomain.com/forums/, which means I want to let the blog and fourm appear to be in separate and parallel directories (not one inside another). Can somebody tell me how to do it?
Thanks!
I am working on a bbpress forum in a WordPress site for a client and it needs to be one forum only. the focus is to be on the topics list.
I’m using the bbp-twentyten theme.
Thanks!
Topic: More settings
Somehow, I believe there are to be more settings than just the two known to me. I’m using WordPress 3.2.1 and have installed bbPress through BuddyPress…
Now i can only make minor settings through:
1. wp back end -> BuddyPress -> Preferences (5 checkboxes and thats it)
2. wp back end -> Settings -> Forums (couple of minor per page settings + slugs).
That can’t be it right? bbPress is a powerful forum, there have to be more settings right? Am I missing anything?
p.s. for example, I want the ‘start new topic’ field gone and move it to it’s own page in stead of being underneath the forum/topic list…
Topic: Add Topic – Hide/Show JS
Hello.
When i install bbpress for buddypress (for groups) the theme get nice javascript button “Add Topic” what show and hide add topic/reply form.. I want to create that on normall bbpress, normall bbpress forum. Now it’s static form, witchout this show/hide.. Can anyone help me?
Hello, I would like to create a special forum for my paid members. I am using the Your Members http://yourmembers.co.uk plugin for my user management. I thought that I would simply create a new forum called “members” with some topics and I would put this forum using a shortcode to the members page, which would have restricted access for members only (using the Your Members plugin).
Yet it seems not to work this easy way. The logged in member can’t see any forum on that page and there is only a line of text with latest forum news and a form for a reply. Once he clicks either on the news or writes a reply, he gets a 404 page. Do you have any idea why is that?
I was trying to make the forum private or hidden, but I don’t understand at all how these features work and I wasn’t able to find any documentation for bbPress yet:(. Could someone please advise me on how would it be the best way to create the paid member’s only forum? Just to make clear, I also do have a normal forum for my free users (who have to be logged in to be able to post into it). Thank you very much for your help! All the best from Misha
