you’d do better to just steal the replies widget I wrote for private groups
download
https://wordpress.org/plugins/bbp-private-groups/
and then open up and edit
includes/pg_forum_widgets.php
line 464 onwards has the replies widget, I’m pretty sure that lines 539 to 542
//PRIVATE GROUPS Get an array of IDs which the current user has permissions to view
$allowed_posts = private_groups_get_permitted_post_ids(new WP_Query($query_data));
// The default forum query with allowed forum ids array added
$query_data['post__in'] = $allowed_posts;
is all that’s added to the orginal code, so remove those lines.
and line 574 contains the size
you can just fork all that to the end of the file into your functions file
Do you have registration enabled?

A link to your site or some screenshots would also be helpful…
Just wondering what the future of bbPress holds?
i wanna bring a cooler look to it. or a bunch of ideas to add on to the look.
as for bbpress community i hope more people help out.
BuddyPress is a far more popular plugin than bbPress, more people those days need community functionality attached to their WordPress sites than support forums
forums arent for everyone
if you look at the bbPress trac it say 64 closed tickets for a very long time.
they can take their time. also i bet more bbpress core developers wouldnt be a bad thing and also just help on trac topics are cool too.
I posted the same question on the WP Support Forum, after the reply from Robkk, no response at all so far…
no you have a reply
you havent responded yet though…

Is there anyone who could tell me how can I change(add) a site header img for the theme twenty twelve specifically?
you should take that , or anything else about twenty twelve to twenty twelve theme support
https://wordpress.org/support/theme/twentytwelve
yes it should be as bbpress just uses wp_query once args has been parsed.
see
https://codex.wordpress.org/Class_Reference/WP_Query dates are quite a way down
untested but something like
$week = date( 'W' );
$year = date( 'Y' );
bbp_has_topics( array( 'year' => $year, '&w' => $week ) );
would do last 5 days
Ahhh… Now I’m looking at the theme…. <- That part of your previous post I inferred you were ‘looking’ at your theme and had found ‘something’ that a change you made had reverted the bad behaviour.
I’m still seeing the page so that makes two times more than the past few days, it ‘could’ be just one of those things that by deactivating one of those plugins and then reactivating it again has fixed whatever, rare, but has been known to happen in the WordPress plugin world!
Hi,
I am using BB press 2.5.4-5380 in WordPress 3.9.2. The running theme is SCRN 2.1. My problem is that since last 1 month or so, any new topic that is created does not show the content of the new post (topic), just the topic title. All other replies to that can be seen, however.
At the backend everything is visible but at the front end the problem remains. I tried updating the theme but it did not help, tried removing the associated plugins like bbPress Email Notifications, GD bbPress Attachments but that too did not help.
Since I am relatively new to WordPress and know little of html programming, please help me accrodingly.
Thanks

bbPress is a WordPress plugin thus bbPress uses WordPress for it’s users.
You can use bbPress shortcodes or widgets depending on your site structure so uses do not need to go near or even see the backend of WordPress:
https://codex.bbpress.org/shortcodes/ https://codex.bbpress.org/widgets/
Can I have my own user registration process?
if you mean moving the registration form to the front end by using a plugin like theme my login then yes
theme my login
https://wordpress.org/plugins/theme-my-login/
they register through your wordpress site through the wordpress registration
The search function on the forum does not work, it just redirects to my homepage with no results.
It would be nice to have all search integrated into the main search function of wordpress, but the only plugin I can find hasn’t been updated since 2011.
I’m working on adding this to the next release of bbPress https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2589
ok, i found wordpress theme repository
thanks
that was very helpfull
Thank you for your response Stephen Edgar
wheres “WordPress theme repo” ?
ive looked on themeforest & a few other places, and they were all roughly the same price for one, or 2-$3,000 for multiple licenses (?)
You can use any of the themes in the WordPress theme repo on as many domains as you like for free.
Do you know of any themes that are both bbpress & buddypress that you can use the license on multiple websites/domains ?
because when i looked at paid themes – you could only use them on one domain, and had to pay per domain for each license of the theme.
ive never seen this before with wordpress themes, usually you buy a theme – and you can use it on as many domains as you want.
does anyone know any different ?
on her site/post she said we can control the icon size by css or add_image_size. can anyone give exact code for us? i don’t know what “name” we’re supposed to add size to in her above code.
and / or could we see the css code exactly and i guess we put this code in our child theme?
thank YOU!
It has nothing to do with bbpress.
contact your theme developer
make a topic on wordpress support
or you can
create a folder called images in your theme if you dont have one already find a facebook icon and rename it fb.jpg
and use this
<a href="fbico"><img style="border:0;" src="fb.jpg" alt="Like Me" width="42" height="42"></a>
and just place it in the right template file
then position with css
links with images:

yes wordpress will overwrite your current site.
Most host providers allow you to create subdomains, so if you have
http://www.mysite.com
your can create
test.mysite.com
I’d suggest you create a test site, and install wordpress on there, keeping your existing site as is.
Then you can create wordpress pages, and copy/paste text and upload pictures to the test site to make it look like (or better than!) your current site.
When you are happy, you can then wipe your live site, install worpress (your host provider should help you to do this if you don’t know how).
You can then export and import the pages and posts from your test site to your live site very easily using the built in exporter/importer.

post to wordpress support in the installation forum.
your talking about a site transfer to wordpress , and i dont know how to do that.
Because I pretended that bbpress users have experience with wordpress. Probably even more than someone who uses only wordpress.
why did you post on the bbpress support forums??
wordpress has support forums too
Support Forums
Hi there, I have a live web site (simple, but visited). I attempted to figure out from WordPress pages I have seen so far, what happens if I install WordPress. Can my visitors access my current site without problem, or there will be a mess first, what I can eliminate only by “configuring” WordPress and somehow transfer my current pages into it?
I’d appreciate your replies. Many thanks in advance, Janos
if you trashed the topic on the front end of your site, you can go back to it still it should be highlighted red and the trash link is now a restore link. And restoring it should bring it back
on the backend in wordpress you go to topics>all topics then on that page you can see all the topics on your site and also topics that have been trashed if you hit the trash link under “Topics” at the top. Then hit the restore link on whatever topics you want to restore
are you sure its not an anonymous user, i mean you have it where people dont have to login to post to your forums so it could be that.
and if this is acts kind of like wordpress comments , the website link is optional, so im going to comment on the same topic and lets see if it looks the same as the other user.
you can spot my post from a mile away
