Please notice that if you specify: define( 'BB_LANG', 'it_IT' );
then the mo/po must be called it_IT.mo/po. Take my italian translation. It is guaranteed.
Robine, your forum looks very nice! I am intrested in the Dutch version. I think others too, so is it possible you can upload it?
I have translated bbPress to Dutch this weekend. Here’s a preview: http://er-was-eens.net/forum
Drop me a line if you want it too.

Hi to all,
is the problem with the language file within the deep integration fixed?
Unfortunately there is a serious drawback as it breaks the translation of bbpress. The fr_FR.mo seems to have no effect with these line.
My installation “forgot” some german words after the deep integration. Evtl. I must make a new ticket for these.
Greetings
Markus
Hi there. Here you can find the complete (and revised) italian translation of bbPress 1.0.2.
The .po file.
The .mo file.
Hope it helps. Have a nice day.
I am running WPMU 2.9.2 with BuddyPress 1.2.1
When I post to a group forum I get a 404. If I hit the back arrow on my browser and then hit refresh, then the post is listed there.
If I click the title of the post, I get “There are no posts for this topic.”
http://supportforspecialneeds.com/groups/arizona/forum/topic/testing-yet-again/
(You can see even by that url that there IS a post.)
I didn’t install this BuddyPress install but I did upgrade it from the BP version just before this one and I’m thinking maybe something got lost in the translation?
I’ve asked on the BuddyPress site and haven’t heard back yet so I’m checking here to see if it’s exclusively a BBPress issue.
Thank you!!
Dawn
Johnhiler, the translation has nothing to do with it. In the admin panel, you can type in what you want there, it doesnt affect the functionality.
The theme IS Kakumei. None of the code is touched, exept for some CSS colors.

If you turn on Firebug, and you inspect the canclebutton, you will see that there seems to be no code at all for a save button present.
–
I have reset the polls to default settings, just to prove that.
–
You see at the plugins site here on Bbpress, that more users are having the same problem:
https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/bbpress-polls/page/3/
There, user Michael888 says to me that version 1.1 of BBpress might include poll functionality.
Is this next upgrade far away. Am I just wasting my time with this old plugin?
thnx for the help chrishajer!
all is well now.
I just had issues reading your comments, and made some small errors…
In your define statement you defined nl.mo to be empty, BTW.
The define statement should look like this:
define( 'BB_LANG', 'nl_NL' );
if your file is named nl_NL.mo
in the my-languages/ directory
The format for the name of that file is
language code_underscore_country code.mo so nl_NL.mo and in the config you drop the .mo
More info about Dutch for bbPress here: https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/dutch-translation#post-56700
Ok, Still no luck.
The right folder should be:
my-languages in the root folder of my bbpress install. (same directory as were the config file lives for example).
I changed the name of the file to nl.mo
At the bottem of my config file I now have this line:
define( 'nl.mo', '' );
Is this all correct?
If so, then why doesn’t it work?!
Deze vertaling gebruik ik ook. Het was even een gedoe met de juiste map vinden waar deze ingezet moest worden, maar het is uiteindelijk toch gelukt. Heb ook even de naam gewijzigd van bbpress_nl.mo naar nl.mo

Thanks a lot for this translation!
Maybe there’s a typo in your folder name or just here. It should be my-languages
. Then the file needs to be named exactly as the define statement in your bb-config.php file. Is that all true?
I’ve installed last version bbpress avaible, in italian language (official translation).
When i create a new member and receive the email it contains instead of è the string è ;
Example:
Il tuo nome utente è ;: myusername
La tua password è ;:
How to solve that ?
Thanks
that is a pretty unfair way of treating a community bruinfelix…
hope you are happy with your PhBB forum or something now…
doesn’t compltely work out for me. I have the files placed in the my-langages folder,
Also changed the line in the config file to:
define( ‘bbpress_nl.mo’, ” );
but nothing changes…
I have also written a short tutorial here on how to do this – http://gaut.am/translating-wordpress-or-bbpress-plugins/
Problem solved, thnks everybody!
Thank you for Your answer but my forum already is translated to dutch, i only need to translate the plugin that becomes with a . Pot file
Still trying to figure out that elusive step 5.
Step 1: open google.com
Step 2: type in ‘bbpress process translation file “.pot” ‘
Step 3: click on the first link.
Step 4: do what it says
Step 5: ???
Step 6: Profit
And Jongeren Forum, with all due respect, we answer your questions, and you don’t seem happy. We’re not going to do it all for you, this isn’t our job
Maybe next time follow the advice given and also say THANK YOU to people like Olaf that reply, whether you think it’s “not usefull for me” or not. Manners cost nothing
This is not usefull for me, anybody else?
