    you could try something like the following in your function file (not tested)

    add_action  ('bbp_template_after_replies_loop', 'bbp_breadcrumb' );

    Hello,
    I am experiencing a strange issue. After upgrade to wp4.1 and lates Theme updates when I try to activate bbpress (latest) all my blog articles are not visible. Basically the HOME page loads but when I click anything, any blog, the URL is trying to open but page stays BLANK, strange. Then I need to be manually deactivate bbpress and all goes to normal.
    Now I dont know where to look for error BBpress, WP or Theme compatibility between those, i am lost. Did you experienced someting similar in a past ?
    thank you for your advices.

    I think the FRESHNESS field should display the date of the last reply or topic, but instead it only shows the date of the last topic.

    This is what it should do (and does on my test site)

    It could be a theme or plugin issue

    Plugins

    Deactivate all but bbpress and see if this fixes. if it does, re-enable one at a time to see which is causing the error.

    Themes

    If plugins don’t pinpoint the problem, as a test switch to a default theme such as twentytwelve, and see if this fixes.

    After some tests, I tried to deactivate one-by-one the last plugins I’ve installed. And after deactivating Google Anlytics by Yoast, it made the trick!

    Forums are back now! All are listed. Widget is back on all the pages, I can reply and create topics… I hope this helps other people. This plugin seems to be incompatible with bbPress plugin!

    I want to set my forum root page to http://localhost/bibliotheque/pour-les-bibliotheques-gouvernementales/partage-dexpertise/

    and not to http://localhost/bibliotheque/sujet/test/

    sujet = topic
    test = forum post

    Can you tell me what your root is in

    dashboard>settings>forums>Forum Root Slug>forum root?

    Hi there,

    I’m looking for an option to hold new topics by non-admin users in moderation for approval before they are visible. I’ve tried looking at this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/bbpressmoderation/ but it deals with topics and replies together- you have to moderate both or not moderate both. I’m not interested in moderating replies, just topic starters.
    Could anybody by any chance suggest a different plugin, a code snippet to use etc. to work around this issue?
    (I’m running the latest versions on WordPress, BuddyPress and bbPress).
    Thank you very much!

    ok, thanks for the clarification.

    You say that everything is working on the backend – this would suggest that the import is fine, and maybe that something else is affecting.

    Then come back !

    @robkk

    why would you want to import the newest version of a bbPress posts into WordPress when they should already show up fine, like a regular bbPress install??

    The above makes no sense to me, anyone else? Did you read what I wtrote, or just the headline?

    I am trying to import an entire forum (forums/topics/replies) from one WordPress install to another.

    This should be simple, as Stephen Edgar wrote, it should be a standard option on the ‘Import Forums’ tab under ‘Tools’, but it’s not.

    He also wrote that it would soon be implemented and really should be a simple process…. months ago!

    @robin-w

    Apologies Robin if I wasn’t clear.

    I have a forum on a WordPress 4.1 install located on a live test server.
    (oxymoron? – I know, but that’s how I develop, consider it a sandlot)

    I am running version 2.5.4 of bbpress, and am trying to move it to a different WordPress installation, also 4.1.

    I did not do:
    Dashboard>tools>forums>export from the WP 4.1/bbPress 2.5.4 because there is no such option

    I did do:
    As advised on this forum and elsewhere, Dashboard>Tools>Export-Forums/Topic/Replies individually.(I did also try them all together, but this didn’t work at all..)

    Then I imported them individually in order Forums/Topic/Replies.

    This imports everything to the backend perfectly fine, but nothing shows on the front end.

    I then followed the Forum repair procedures in many different forms (e.g.: one at a time/different order/all together) and still nothing shows on the front end.

    As I said, I have tried this entire procedure in many ways now, both to standalone single site WP installs, Multisite setups, local WP installs and subdomains/subfolders, and regardless of how I do it, I never see anything on the Front End of the site I import to – but everything is perfectly visible and editable on the back end.

    As for the ‘four months’, it has taken me that long, on and off, to follow all the various scraps of advice from around this forum on importing/migrating bbPress to different locations/installs, there are a lot of threads here covering many scenarios, and I tried most of them.

    It is my experience that this is best practice on a support forum, otherwise I would rightly be told not to post about something that has already been discussed/solved.

    I can now confidently inform you that there is no solution on this forum for my particular issue and would greatly appreciate your advice/help in finding a solution.

    May I suggest two things though, which I feel would solve this issue for anyone going forward.

    1) Please do develop the promised import option for bbPress 2.x forums in the Tools>Import Forums tab.

    2) Please also post a step-by-step guide for manually adding bbPress tables via phpMyAdmin

    Can you help me ?

    bbpress works with 4.1 so it not/not only a 4.1 issue

    It could be a theme or plugin issue with 4.1

    Plugins

    Deactivate all but bbpress and see if this fixes. if it does, re-enable one at a time to see which is causing the error.

    Themes

    If plugins don’t pinpoint the problem, as a test switch to a default theme such as twentytwelve, and see if this fixes.

    I made another test trying to create a new topic (thread) from the form under the listing given by [bbp-singl-forum id=6] and it give me back the following error:

    ERROR: No tienes permisos para crear nuevos hilos.

    Which is Spanish for You do not have permission to create new topics.

    Touda
    Participant

    After having installed, configured and started some forums and subforums with the initial threads (topics), suddenly I found some issues, maybe related with some new plugins I’ve been installing on the same site:
    – Forums URLs give 404 errors
    – Topics URLs are found OK
    – No reply is possible to those topics even when logged as Admin (Keymaster). BBPress shows this error:

    ERROR: You do not have permission to reply.

    ERROR: This forum is private and you do not have the capability to read or create new replies in it.

    When testing shortcodes on a test page it gives the following results:

    [bbp-forum-index] -> No forum is listed

    [bbp-single-forum id=6] -> Forum is shown with its topics

    [bbp-topic-index] -> Topics are listed OK

    Any idea?

    Thanks in advance for any help.

    For the past hour I’ve been hunting a post preview plugin.

    The plugin repository was no help, as for the forum and Google, all I’ve found is topics from 3 to 8 years ago, with people complaining about bugs in plugins that have no links to them, or links that have become obsolete.

    So, has there been any post review plugins made that have stood the test of time?

    Thanks,
    Adam

    Building a new site running the latest WP BuddyP and BBp, I have a (perhaps stupid_ question.

    What I want to achieve:
    Buddypress user, who are member of certain groups have rights to some “extra” forums. (done)
    “Approved” registred members should have access to “sitewide” all forums.
    “Non-approved” new memebers (who are regsitred) should have access to a limited number of forums.

    Should I do this with Buddypress, using some kind of Parent forums? Or must install a plugin and create new roles?

    Thanks!
    (link to an example or extra instructions would be nice)

    see if its a plugin or theme issue

    Plugins

    Deactivate all but bbpress and see if this fixes. if it does, re-enable one at a time to see which is causing the error.

    Hey guys! I need your help,

    actually, im bulding a web site with bbforum in my partage-dexpertise section
    (http://localhost/bibliotheque/pour-les-bibliotheques-gouvernementales/partage-dexpertise/)

    My breadCrumb work fine for all my website so I desactivate BBPress default breadCrumb.

    Now when I go to my forum I got this link(http://localhost/bibliotheque/sujet/test/)
    so my breadCrumb is(Services de bibliotheque>Sujets>test).

    But I want something like this (http://localhost/bibliotheque/pour-les-bibliotheques-gouvernementales/partage-dexpertise/sujet/test/).

    breadCrumb(Services de bibliotheque>Pour les bibliothèques gouvernementales>Partage d’expertise>Sujets>test)

    My question is: Can I change my topic(sujet for me) parent page or something like that.

    Thanks a lot fred

    Hi

    My issue is when a registered user clicks on open forum. all the topics are displayed, but when the user clicks on one of the topics they are taken directly to a reply page – without showing the actual topic.

    WP version 4.1
    bbPress version 2.5.4
    http://www.oregonsungrown.org
    you can test with user testor password test123

    thanks

    I have isolated the exact post content that causes the BBCode::Parse to hang. I can’t post the original content, but I made this version replacing the text with lorem ipsum, and it also hangs:

    $field =<<<EOD
    Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Nulla dictum ligula sit amet massa condimentum gravida. Quisque qutris imgdper diet dolor. Nulla quis ante id elit lacinia commodo. Maecenas convallis felis at libero fringilla, feiat.<br><br><br><i><b>[EDIT: Aenean aliquet velit est, ac sodales "tortyor aliquoam vitae" urna sit amet dui rutr "OpenGL Uiot" Tenentis in faucibus orci luctus et ultrices posuere cubilia Curae Donec fringilla velit non too much
    EOD;

    If you remove the words “too much” from the end then it parses ok.

    This is the full code that I put into a theme page template to run this test in isolation:

    echo "<h2>Begin the parser test</h2>";

    require_once( WP_PLUGIN_DIR . '/bbpress/bbpress.php' );

    $field =<<<EOD
    Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Nulla dictum ligula sit amet massa condimentum gravida. Quisque qutris imgdper diet dolor. Nulla quis ante id elit lacinia commodo. Maecenas convallis felis at libero fringilla, feiat.<br><br><br><i><b>[EDIT: Aenean aliquet velit est, ac sodales "tortyor aliquoam vitae" urna sit amet dui rutr "OpenGL Uiot" Tenentis in faucibus orci luctus et ultrices posuere cubilia Curae Donec fringilla velit non too much
    EOD;

    require_once( bbpress()->includes_dir . 'admin/parser.php' );
    $bbcode = BBCode::getInstance();
    echo  html_entity_decode( $bbcode->Parse( $field ) );

    @julianms so your issue is its hard to customize the Markdown plugin??

    and you tried to see if you could customize it in the bbPress templates??

    and you want to use Latex language in bbPress , i can test out some plugins in a minute and see how that works out.

    but yeah the first two questions i’m not sure i had right it was pretty hard following your reply, you put a lot of personality in it.
