Topic: need help please !!
hi everybody,
i have installed a bbpressw on my wordpress blog and i want to make a little moderation.
i need to my post on wordpress will shown as a topic in bbpress. i have no idea where to start i someone can help me with that i will be greatful !!
thanks :))Scenario:
When I upgraded Buddypress and BBpress recently (two weeks ago), members can’t access the site-wide forums properly anymore.
1. Regular members can’t view the first entries in single topic pages anymore.
2. They don’t have access to the hidden forums they could access before. All in all, only admins can see anything.
While trouble shooting, the ‘missing’ posts and forums show up when I have BuddyPress disabled. Could this be a user privilege conflict? I’ve reset my User Role Editor and deactivated the plugin but it didn’t solve anything. What I’m scared I have probably destroyed the capabilities settings completely. Is there a way to fix this without having to start from scratch? I’m more concerned about the content we’ve built up in more than a year.
Buddypress 1.6.2
BBPress 2.2.3
Wordpress 3.5I’m considering bbpress for one of my most popular community in Bangladesh. I looked at other forum software but bbpress seemed perfect for me as it runs within WordPress. I’m running bbpress as a plugin. Now, my forum is on Bangla language. So, each time a topic is created, the slug becomes unicode character like this: /ą¦«ą§ą¦°ą¦¾ą¦®-ą¦ą¦Ŗą¦æą¦
As you can see, it’s really ugly-looking as well as bad for sharing links. For my blog, I’ve chosen the permalink as /post-id/{id}. I would like to do the same for bbpress (something like PunBB). How can I do so?
Topic: Future of bbpress
I’m just confused about future of this great forum platform. As i remember bbpress was plugin of wordpress then it went as standaolone, then plugin again ? Can someone clarify whats happening with bbpres ? Is developmen got faster ?
Hi Everyone.
I have a simple question but I’ve search for its answer for a day and nothing to solve.
My question is, How can I use “[bbp-single-forum]” and limit its amount of return topics?
I would like to show only 5 recent topics in the page for specific forum. But bbp-single-forum displays all of them.Or is there any alternative method for my requirement?
Thanks for advance for any help ^^

Topic: Simple classifieds forum
Installled this on my WordPress site
Is it just me or is incredibly complicated?
I want to make a simple classified forum on. My site
I made header. Classifieds.. Then wanted sub forum cars. But the topic is on its own and not even under the classifieds forum I created.. I am doing this on my iPad. Maybe that is my problem?
I want the forum to be called classifieds.. Then a section or cars. Then section for parts. Within each topic header I want to list cars for sale and in parts list parts separately.
Thanks in advance
Dear all,
I have post this at plugin site, however, i want to post it here too since this was an issues and i want to increase the popular of this post so that the master or “sifu” can see and help… thanks
I am fresh to wordpress. I have install bbPress into my wordpress, and i face some serious issues.
By default, after I comment on a topic, it should be refresh the page and show me my comment with āAwaiting Moderationā. However, itās some time do not refresh and stay in same page, it will link me to the main topic pages.
After I set the topic and reply under āPer Pageā section to 1000 per page, this issue do not occur anymore. But problem is reader do not like so many topic or comment in 1 page. Itās seems that bbPress by default do not have a solution in the code to link correctly between the topic pages?
For example, if I set under āPer Pageā section, 10 post per reply. When this topic have more than 10 reply, the 11 reply will go to page 2, here the issue will start. anyone post after page 11 will be link to wired page/link or the page will display āOh bother! No replies were found here!ā or āpage 404, not foundā.
Anyone have a solution on this? Any help is appreciateā¦
ThanksHi, I have this small little issue regarding the e-mail address’s whenever someone receives and e-mail from my BBpress forum, or even when I receive an e-mail from my site regarding BBpress. Whenever someone signs up as a user on my forum, they get an email from username@box551.bluehost.com with their username and password. I have no idea why it’s from username@box551.bluehost.com, because my admin settings are set up for a different gmail account. I was on the phone with bluehost (my web hosting company) for a good hour and they tried everything they could and finally suggested that it was on BBPress’s end, and not theirs. So how would I change the default e-mail address to username@gmail.com and not username@box551.bluehost.com when ever myself or a registered user to my BBpress forum receives an e-mail?
I’m running the latest version of WordPress with BBpress 2.2.2.
Any help would greatly be appreciated! š
Hi Everyone,
first of all, I’m new to bbPress and I think this wordpress’s plugin is really fantastic for me.And now I stuck with this. I would like to remove ‘Sticky Topic’ capability from Moderator role.
So, how to do this?I wouldn’t like to allow Moderator can Sticking any topic. And also can’t create topic with ability to choose Topic Type (Normal,Stick,Super Stick)
Many thanks for advance for any help š
Hi, since the 3.5 update i have lost an image on my wordpress/buddypress site. The site is http://www.releasethereal.com
Originally my logo would appear on the top left of my header, please see this support post on how i did it: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/link-header-to-homepage?replies=20
How can i get this image to display again?
So my bbPress forum worked fine for a few months. I can’t remember if I updated anything but since a few weeks it doesn’t work anymore.
The problem is, that it doesn’t show the content of the forums. There’s the heading of the forum but nothing else. Here’s how it looks like:
http://bookish.brokenstars.de/forums/
http://bookish.brokenstars.de/forums/forum/bookish-intern/
http://bookish.brokenstars.de/intern/ (normal site with shortcode)I’m using WordPress 3.5 and bbPress 2.2.3
Nothing seems to help. I’ve repaired and reset all the forums. I’ve deleted the plugin and the data from the database. I’ve reset the permalink structure… but it just doesn’t show up anymore.Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?
Thanks!
