I’m using default users in wordpress for the bbpress forums as for the regular pages for wordpress.
I’ve installed WordPress Access Control to disallow visitors and regular members from viewing certain pages. These are only allowed to be shown to the paying members of the organisation.
I’ve configured the Access Control to redirect to the page with the bbpress login form when a user isn’t logged in and tries to view a page to encourage paid subscriptions. The redirect to the login form looks good since it has a value refering to the original page and the link is in this format:
login/?redirect_to=/some-folder/the-page-the-user-tries-to-view
However when a user logs in correctly, the login page is still showing with the message that they’re already logged in. The link has changed to this:
login/?redirect_to=%2Fsome-folder%2Fthe-page-the-user-tries-to-viewSo how can I catch that parameter and do the proper redirect to the page where the users initially was?
Hi,
When a new user or admin tries to access the forum, it seems to work fine.
When an older user (role: participant) tries to access the forum, they get a 404 error (same URL).
Happens in base themes as well as my theme.
Wordpress 4.3.1
bbPress 2.5.8Have tried the utilities to repair everything. Nothing seems to help.
Very frustrated and at a stand still. Any and all help is appreciated.

Hello,
When replying to forum replies (nested/threaded replies) everything works as it should in Internet Explorer, but in Chrome, instead of creating a nested reply, the user is taken to the general topic-reply form. The users think it will be a nested reply, and are of course frustrated when it ends up at the bottom of the list.
In IE, no console errors are generated. Here is the error generated in Chrome when the REPLY button is clicked:
Uncaught TypeError: Failed to execute ‘insertBefore’ on ‘Node’: 2 arguments required, but only 1 present.
addReply.moveForm @ reply.js:18
onclick @ (index):406Wordpress version 4.3.1
X-Theme version: 4.1.0
bbPress version: 2.5.8I have also tried other versions of the bbPress plugin with no success.
Thanks!

<imc src=”http://i.imgur.com/TIl1xpw.jpg”>Hello,
I have a problem with bbpress.
a couple of days ago a problem started with making accounts on my site.
When a new user is making an account he receives an e-mail with an activation link in that mail.
When he clicks that mail he is comming on a page with an box where he needs to add an activation code.
But in the mail there is no activation code. only a link like: http://website.nl/activate/79d6b96dbaaf352d993dafae852f9b26/So looks like the account should be activated direct from that link but this is not working.
Also when i enter the code 79d6b96dbaaf352d993dafae852f9b26 again in the field where is aked for activation code this is not working.
So people can not make new accounts at this moment on my website.
Who can help me solve this?Kind regards
Daniel
latest wordpress and bbpress version installed
I have a site in 3 languages, made with the Enfold theme and the WPML plugin.
English: hidden
French: default
DutchIn the footer widget area of the theme, I added the bbPress “Recent Topics” widget, and it is only showing in the French site. In the Dutch site, the footer widget area is empty.
This also happens in sidebars.
Other (bbPress) widgets work perfectly in both languages. What can I do to solve this? Where can I find the code to change it?
I’m using WordPress 4.4, bbpress 2.5.8 & WPML 3.3.3
Updated to WP 4.4 and sub forums are no longer accessible, getting the Ooops….message
Tried deactivating all plugins, using a default template and still get the same error.
IF I go into dashboard I can actually get to the topics from the backend, but its of no use to my site members
Have asked for my hosting company to reinstall a backup from last 24 hours as my backup failed
MODERATOR EDIT :
There is a SUMMARY of this issue and what to do at the end of this thread (or near it) – to save newcomers having to read the whole thread
Hi all,
Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can provide! I am trying to migrate forum data from another platform (I believe it’s a homegrown ASP.net-based forum). I have all the data in spreadsheets/csv files and am trying to put together the SQL statements I need to move it into bbPress.
I put together a small test import (a single post to a single forum) for ‘wp_posts’ that looks like it mostly worked: the imported data is visible under Topics in the WordPress admin but it doesn’t show up when you browse to the Forum it’s assigned to on the front-end.
I noticed that when I create a topic in the traditional way (through the front-end) that it creates several entries in ‘wp_postmeta’ also (like _bbp_topic_id, _bbp_forum_id, _bbp_author_ip, _bbp_last_active_time, etc).
Does anyone know if it’s the absence of post meta for my imported data that’s causing it not to display on the front-end? If so, how much of this info is required?
I have 4300+ posts across 1400+ topics that need to be imported. Some of the post_meta data (like forum and topic id) will be easier for me to cross reference but other data (like reply_count, last_active_time, etc) would be a very manual process to try to include in my import.
Any suggestions or advice on the best way to get this data into my database?
All my quotes are broken on my forums now, its showing the quote code and not formatting after updating to 4.4
Topic: Wrong Sidebar
I have followed some of the topics on removing/adding/modifying sidebars in bbPress and tried unsuccessfully to create the desired outcome. I have an index page linking to a number of Forums but I cannot get the sidebar to work despite using bbpress wp tweaks and widget logic. The bbpress sidebar appears in the widgets theme section of dashboard and I can add widgets to it but the sidebar itself will not display. Instead I get a series of widgets I did enter including Pages, Archives, Categories, WordPress, and Subscribe. I have no idea why those particular widgets are appearing instead of the bbpress sidebar ones I have selected.
Topic: Bug Report on bbpress codes
Looks like bbpress codes are not computing if they appear on a front page.
Reproduction:
1. Make a new page and name it foo
2. Enter the string “[bbp-forum-index]”
3. Check the preview of page (Everything should work as expected)
4. Save the page and publish
5. Goto settings -> Reading and set the page “foo” as front page
6. Call your site. What should happen is that nothing appears on the page, except its title.
Versions: WordPress 4.3.1, bbpress 2.5.8
Wordpress is running in MU mode. Dont know if this is really an issue.Man, this took me a million calls of that front page to get it. It might also have destroyed the structure somehow, as somtimes I had the impression that bbcodes did not work at all. This went away after using the restructure feature/tool.
With best regards,
BennyTopic: no spacing in posts
Using WordPress 4.2.1, bbpress 2.5.8.
The problem I have it the following: (dots are spaces, eg. how many times enter has been pressed)
“Example post
.

.
Example post”won’t keep its original spacing and gets squeezed into:
“Example post
Example post”I don’t want to increase the default margins, I just want bbpress to recognize spaces in a post.

http://driscollning.com/Obvious newbie, so thanks for any help.
Here is my first problem. When I click on the forums tile it goes to page not found.
When I try to create a page called forums with the forums slug, it renames itself to forums-2 or forums-3. To me this means forums already exists, but I cannot see it in my pages list. Also, I need a easy to read guide? Any suggestions?
help please?
My group forums suddenly disappeared, but get this, only the active ones (if that gives any clue) I get this message now when I visit the forum:
This group does not currently have a forum.
I tried fresh installs of bbpress, nothing is changing.
When I go to the backend of groups, I can select the forum name, and save settings: but the forum is still not on the front end.In the dropdown menu on the frontend of the group, the default shows now as “No Forum”, then there are other group forums in the dropdown menu, but none of the ones listed are that group’s forum name.
