    I tested this plugin and I confirm that it works very well. Thanks to the maker of this plugin!

    After recently upgrading the bbpress and core WP files, as well as other plugins we use to the latest versions I am noticing that the links to users’ profiles no longer work correctly. Instead of loading the bbpress user profile, they load up the WP author archive. Is this happening for everyone else too, or just me?

    i dont think you can sort replies , i think the views were only for showing topics.

    will test out later though just in case.

    I am missing all of the html formatting buttons with the exception of “close tags”. I have them turned on in the settings, but nothing is visible for my users. Any suggestions of where to start?

    My website is http://www.allthingsbranson.com/forums

    I am using the latest wordpress and bbpress. I tried uninstalling and deleting the plugin and reinstalling the latest version. Sacrificing all of our topics, I still had no luck correcting this issue.

    Thanks a bunch for the code, both @robkk and @undergroundnetwork!

    I’m running Avada theme, with latest WordPress 4.2.1 and BBPress 2.5.7 and this works perfectly.

    Seems like this *should* be an option in WordPress when BBPress is installed: “Check the box to include Forum Topics and Replies in the sitewide search”. Would be a helpful addition.

    Luckily we have this resource, so thanks again for the code snippets.

    Hi everyone

    I am having a lot of trouble getting bbPress to work with my WordPress site that is using the Warp7 framework from yootheme.

    Some views work fine, like the main forum view, adding topics and replies but there are some that don’t give any content back like when you click on an author’s name, and others that look a bit messed up like when you look at the list of all forums.

    The site is live but this page is not in the menus yet, feel free to have a look if that helps:

    http://www.aida.org.au/forum-test/topic/welcome-to-the-aida-members-forum/

    I know that the Warp7 framework does things in a bit of a non-traditional way, but I am hoping that someone can help me get these two to play nicely together!

    Thanks in advance

    hey @23creative Thanks for sharing your code. I’m interested in testing it to see if I can get it to work for my needs. Sorry for what may be a basic question, but where in the code do you place the names of the multiple tags that you want users to be forced choose from?

    Is it possible you show it in an example?

    Thanks a bunch.

    FriendlyCase should work, i tested with some default themes.

    it works in twentytwelve , twentythirteen , and twentyfifteen.

    link to your site so i can check on it maybe there is some CSS messing it up or something else.

    Hello, I was importing a vbulletin3 forum and it got stuck at replies phase. After an hard and time consuming phase of testing to find out which reply gave problem I found it.

    This reply had the text enclosed by [ ], and made my http local Apache 2.4 server crash! eg it was [hello foo bar hello world ….]

    Removed the [ ], import went fine.

    While trying the trial and error method of disabling the plugin, I was using tools.pingdom.com/fpt/ to test the website from different server location each time whether it is working or not. And each time it showed a blank page.
    I didn’t try switching back to default theme.
    Going back to bbpress 2.5.6 made everything fine.
    Cpanel error log was totally empty.

    @loen010 I can’t see any issues with your site, http://www.onlinegokforum.nl/topics/, browsing through various topics works as expected.

    @richkraetsch
    and @al_bullit Can you both please create a new separete topic each with a few more details as to your specific site setup, what theme your using, what plugins your using, also what happens when you switch back to the Twenty Fourteen or Twenty Fifteen theme with all other plugins disabled. Also in the new topic let me know what happens after you create a new user, standard participant role, log out, log back in etc, is this user affected by the issue still? (I’d suggest testing that in a “private” browser instance e.g. Google Chrome Incognito)

    Hey Guys,

    I have the latest WordPress 4.1.2 and bbPress 2.5.7 and I’m having a problem where when I search for a user in the admin of WordPress and try and either bulk edit the user or click on the User Profile link and I get redirected to the home page.

    I have narrowed it down to a conflict with the Groups plugin 1.5.1 and I’m wondering if anyone else has found this?

    Other points:
    – User links work to edit the profile or bulk edit if you DON’T search but we can’t do this as our user db is 1,400 odd people and it takes too long
    – I’ve tried changing to the default theme and deactivating all plugins and it still happens
    – I have tried installing bbPress 2.5.7 and Groups 1.5.1 on a fresh install of WordPress and got the same results with a user database of 2 people.

    It only happens when you search… If I remove the wp_http_referrer information from the User Edit Profile link the link works… There’s some weird conflict going on with the referrer in the link…

    Any help greatly appreciated by all!

    did you create a custom widget?? it might be better if you did for this because then you could output all of the links to the user profile.

    unfortunately not, as i’m using a plugin (jquery-vertical-accordion-menu) for the accordion/dropdown menu widget for that menu, which makes it more complicate, i guess. does the
    $id_base = 'dc_jqaccordion_widget';
    help with this and if where and what else to put in the code for a custom widget that’s using the accordion/dropdown menu as well?

    initially hoped that making a redirect via permalink in functions.php or via page template would be the fastest and easiest solution. am i totally wrong with this?
    as i’m not familiar with coding, i see a high risk of having set wrong variables all the time. i’m using default bbpress setting with a nicername/username instead of user’s id in the permalink.

    my latest post disappeared, maybe because of too many links.

    probably

    the default menu below the avatar shall be removed and appear in the sidebar on the right in a dropdown menu ( not only to make a consistent layout but also to prevent users to see the information also on other user profiles).

    I tested this plugin: FriendlyCase

    And unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be compatible with bbPress.

    @robkk, thanks again for your support. my latest post disappeared, maybe because of too many links.

    regarding the new menu, i hope this image can explain it better:
    the default menu below the avatar shall be removed and appear in the sidebar on the right in a dropdown menu ( not only to make a consistent layout but also to prevent users to see the information also on other user profiles). Optimally it should be shown only when the user is logged in, but yet i’d be very happy to get it working no matter of the user’s login status.

    unfortunately i can’t provide a link at the moment, so i put the id’s at the image.

    parent menu items are “nachrichten” and “account”.
    in “account” the links for the user profiles shall be displayed as sub menus.

    the parent menu-code looks like this:
    <li id="menu-item-566" class="menu-item menu-item-type-post_type menu-item-object-page cur…ancestor menu-item-has-children menu-item-566 dcjq-parent-li">

    the sub menu show profile-code like this:
    <li id="menu-item-572" class="menu-item menu-item-type-post_type menu-item-object-page menu-item-572"></li>

    (for “edit profile” I already found a menu-link solution)
    [btw: default theme twenty twelve]

    Ohh unfortunately it is not fully fixed yet šŸ™ the “send” button of the compose form is always partly hidden by the our sidebar on the right. It’s different with various browsers: more or less hidden.

    On the screenshot you see that the send button just is “se”, the rest is hidden.

    screenshot of the compose form (cut)

    Live here:
    http://hanfjournal.de/forum/bereich/fun-talk/test-forum/ (but you need to login)
    Note: The German translation for “send” is “senden”, so if you see “send” there are still 2 letters missing.

    I’m still testing, but I think this does it:

    .activity-list li.bbp_topic_create .activity-content .activity-inner, .activity-list li.bbp_reply_create .activity-content .activity-inner {
    	display: none !important;
    }

    It shows bbPress forum titles in BuddyPress activity streams, but not content of the reply/post.

    Hope this helps anyone who might need it.
