BBpress is not a search engine friendly forum. I am right ?

I have installed this bbpress on my website (http://www.consumercourt.comn.in) but its not able to perform well in Google because of, its not following the standard forum structure. I am getting almost 3 to 4 unique articles per week on my forum. But to crawl these articles google is taking a month. This situation has made me to tell you that bbpress is not search engine friendly…

Please let me know your thoughts. Please share your experience, if any.

And also please let me know how to make it seo friendly ?

At http://www.alexapps.co.cc/community/ we have a bbpress installation. It’s hosted at source forge because we didn’t want to use there forum system that is already supplied, and i already know that they have the mail function disabled in php so you have to use a external smtp server to send email and i’ve tried the SMTP mailer for bbPress and it doesn’t work with gmail or the smtp server source forge supplies. What can i do?

    Hello everyone,

Whenever the IP is changed, my installation of bbPress logs me out and ask me to login again.

I’ve checked the cookies, the expiration date of them are in 2011

    How can i fix that?

    Thanks

    hello,

Just installed the bbpress thing. Everything worked up until i changed to permalinks.

Now I get an internal server error. Is there a way to just put it back to what it was?

    thanks,

    Bert

You can’t due to a current bug: https://trac.bbpress.org/ticket/1357

As you’ll see I think I have now identified why it’s happening and hopefully JJJ will be able to fix it soon.

I just installed bbpress on my site, and when I opened it up, it all seems to be pushed to the right. Is there a way to fix this, or should I just go ahead and download a different theme? http://beta.root-ed.com/bbpress

I found that to exclude multiple forums, it has to be a negative value in exclude:

    get_latest_topics('exclude=-3,-16,-28')

according to the wordpress codex, the numbers are supposed to be in ascending order, so I assume order is important in bbpress too.

@Rich yes to all of those. I download the ZIP and then moved the folder into the plugins directory and changed its name for ‘plugin’ to ‘bbpress’

EDIT: Okay seems the permissions were incorrect and I have successfully activated the plugin. But I don’t see any options to do anything? How do I create forums etc?

zaerl: bbPress isn’t a WordPress plugin. It’s a standalone software.

Not yet anyway like driz states! Development is on-going right now, but the basic functions all work, and things are slowly starting to take shape! :)

A few dump questions – did you download the zip? is the directory with the plugins directory called bbpress?

Man. The state of BBPress is so depressing at times.

I have downloaded the latest version of this plugin and placed it inside the /wp-content/plugins/ folder but it doesn’t show up in the Plugins area of WP-Admin and therefore I can’t activate it! Does it need activating somewhere else?

I’m on bbPress latest trunk, testing bbPM 1.0.1 and I’ve never had any problem at all. :)

Still no admin area. I’ve deactivated/reactivated a number of times. I’ve even deleted all the files and re-uploaded it and deactivated/reactivated. Still no enjoy. I’m using the latest SVN for testing purposes and downloaded the zip

Some time ago, a forum I’m on a lot had it’s bbPress updated. Lots of stuff got fixed by that, but even more broke. Mostly plugins, for an example, the old PM plugin doesn’t seem to support line breaks anymore. Nor does quotes within HTML world at all. As an example, if I’d write <a href=”url” I’d get <a href=”url”” (same with spaces) with a few extra troubles.

So my question is this simply, what is the recommended way to fix a forum with many bugs. Is it smarter to just update the PM plugin to the latest version, even though old PM’s will be removed? Or is it possible to fix linebreaks within PM’s? And how would I go about fixing the quote within HTML problem?
