    Hi all,

    I am using BBPress 1.03 and WordPress 3.1.

    I have installed both, and BBpress successfully using my WordPress user database, with the relevant user roles mapped. I can log into BBpress using my WordPress user accounts.

    I have the following at the top of both my wp-config.php file and my bb-config.php file (note: I don’t have the COOKIEHASH defined in bb-config.php):

    define( 'COOKIEHASH', 'd36e8c873ff8f9c997d969ab483cd640' );
    define( 'COOKIE_DOMAIN', '.mydomain.com' );
    define( 'SITECOOKIEPATH', '/blog/' );
    define( 'ADMIN_COOKIE_PATH', '/blog' );
    define( 'COOKIEPATH', '/blog/' );

    I then have the unique keys specified in both wp-config.php and bb.config.php:

    define('AUTH_KEY',         'f3y#H_;s:WLry|<code>ja|$!|L%m0xbRE>:o@ N</code>(-Uv:,7WafXX,vR>=z>Uj c@[t>N');
    define('SECURE_AUTH_KEY', ':(S7I[u%v0K<!0HAQWP1vcop^4+,=4=jj.ceAmioE|Zo<UY|7g&w$5ntdG,=k;6!');
    define('LOGGED_IN_KEY', 'c<code>_Ce{WV{:OhB7in@>].^qb*-y=b@p|^K|_gx.%%^;</code>$2{:$X;eS5SJg<3nH.5)l');
    define('NONCE_KEY', '@C%3/EU?/O=Xt36b;Z@;McIeo7UP-|9sqi&gk/f]p?c|Jx0ZNEnCmYS-_T^?[W$');
    define('AUTH_SALT', '|++I0w;>^aBCc,eaUTRZxd+EUdj;H1q]_~1B7R blEql3lwt4#y-RziRyS&qVs5');
    define('SECURE_AUTH_SALT', 'l<i3+Y-JrYB<3rirFmNi*+>|~:NXPfI _xGzl)2?myj aY{f{%v+U#by5kfFBb5E');
    define('LOGGED_IN_SALT', 'Bk~2!XQR}_4H)qno#uTvH?+ }#h|F+KF&CSL5^a:eNM1_.aA]!~r(g|<cvl<;_@');
    define('NONCE_SALT', 'P|gX2|>ScAMaOZCrEKv#F*/yZ;Wy*a|uuVA!!ds]MUhE.U,ok+sJMe4dF0;+qft');

    (Note: in bbconfig.php all the defined values I have renamed with BB_ at the start (such as BB_AUTH_KEY)).

    However, I’m still unable to log in to one application (WordPress or BBpress) and have me automatically logged in to the other. I still have to log in to each.

    Is there something I am doing wrong?

    ok, I solved it. somehow I’d corrupted the forum.php in my main forum directory. So glad I checked everything against the one in my original bbpress download. I’m not sure how that happened, must be late hour…

    Never stop grasping at straws!

    Just an update to who ever reads this…. im not going to mess around with bbpress anymore…. if an application is this finiky and wont install properly and do what its suppose to then i do not want anything to do with it…..

    I have installed hundreded of different php applications …. so either i am just dumb and dont know what i am doing or this doesnt work properly…..

    i also dont want to sit around waiting a week for someone to reply like most people been doing….

    I will stick with my wordpress and my phpbb both of them installed and works perfectly…

    I even went the extra step and installed it in the root of my site instead of in the root of wordpress installation

    so my url should of looked like this example.com/forum and after installation it still went to exmaple.com/forum/forum and said page can not be found and it does the same thing with the admin panel….

    and this time i skipped the wordpress installation just to see if i could get the forum working by its self first with its own mysql database….

    with no luck after a week and spending all day trying to get it to work properly i just give up…..

    i would not recomment bbpress to anyone who wants an easy installation and a smooth process because its anything but that….

    Have fun with this crap…

    bye

    Hello! Need some help please installing the forum and integrating withI WordPress MU 3.1

    After trying to install 6 times in a row, I finally got it installed after inserting dummy data (followed this post: http://bbpress.org/forums/topic/forum-could-not-be-created).

    But the admin account was created without a password. In the “New bbPress installation” email I got it told me the Username but not the Password.

    Creating a new user does work though.

    The admin user I created for the forum doesn’t show up in my wp_users table, but the newly created user does.

    Cheers!

    I was wondering if someone can tell me what i am doing is even possible .. i have watched video after video and most people are showing how to integrate bbpress with wordpress via localhost and not showing a deminstration with a live website….

    I have spent the past week trying to figure this out and nothing is working….

    these are the steps i have takin to do this

    1. downloaded and installed wordpress.

    2.install bbpress in the root directory of wordpress

    1. Gave my WP url which looks like this http://example.com/blog

    2. Gave my WP blog url http://example.com/blog

    3. inseerted the secret keys into bbpress installation

    it says everything had gone well and it finished installation

    i dont usually like asking for help when it should be so simple… unless im missing a key piece or am doing it wrong…..

    my problem was that when i went to the forum side i went to example.com/blog/forum

    it showed the main page just fine then it said it logged me in then i click on admin and instead of taking me to the admin panel like it should have

    it keeps trying to send me somewhere else for some reason it says blog/forum.blog/forum

    so the address it keeps sending me to when i click on admin is example.com/blog/forum/blog/forum

    it does it twice and i can not figure out why i have folled these tutorials to the T with no luck

    i even thought that i might try it this way input in the field that my blog was at example.com to see if that fixed it even tho my blog is at example.com.blog i dont know if it allows for this or not so if someone can get back to me i would appreciate it so i dont have to keep racking my brain lol…

    so if someone can put things into lamen terms to where i can understand im really not that techy

    Thanks in advance

    Topic: Cookie Integration

    I am trying to set my own cookies with information bbPress doesn’t keep track of to use in my forum, but I get an error saying I “Cannot modify header information.” I’m not using wordpress.

    Is there an easy way for me to integrate cookies with a specific prefix or something with bbPress so I can make my own cookies? Also, if it would be easier, is there a way for me to make my own global variables in the same manner?

    My goal is to find some way to store additional information so I don’t have to access my database every time I refresh the page.

    Hi Everyone,

    I was re-installing my bbpress onto my server to better integrate it with the server. This is the error message I received at the end of the install:

    SQL ERROR!

    >>> Database: actionp7_wrdp1 (localhost)

    >>>>>> ALTER TABLE wp_posts ADD COLUMN post_id bigint(20) NOT NULL auto_increment;

    >>>>>> Incorrect table definition; there can be only one auto column and it must be defined as a key

    SQL ERROR!

    >>> Database: actionp7_wrdp1 (localhost)

    >>>>>> ALTER TABLE wp_posts ADD PRIMARY KEY (post_id);

    >>>>>> Key column ‘post_id’ doesn’t exist in table

    What does this mean? I can no longer log in to my wordpress site with full permissions and I have no idea why. The site is blocked from the general public until launch so it was locked down with the wordpress plugin– Login Lockdown —. I’m scheduled for launch in two weeks and can’t figure out why this happened. Everything was fine before the re-install.

    Thank you for all your help in advance!

    This does get frustrating. I run three bbPress forums and I don’t read the buddypress forums, I don’t subscribe to any feeds and don’t log in to the WordPress dashboard unless I’m working on some Pages (I don’t use WP to blog), so there would have been no way for me to hear this news unless I came here. And still, it wasn’t posted here for two weeks.

    Some may find Kevinjohn’s posts to be overly dramatic, but he DOES have a point.

    Hello, I’ve just set up bbPress 1.03

    I’m having two issues, number 1 is that No emails go out when people attempt to register for the site

    Number two is all of my posts show up as anonymous, and the threads show up as empty.

    I am hosting this out of my own home, running the latest Apache and MySql through XAMPP.

    Hello,

    I read that works for bbpress. Is there some wordpress plugin I must install? Basically, with everything installed, how to I add an active, functional forum page to my wordpress website?

    It is very weird problem. Sometimes If click any link my site. bbpress stops and page not reload after 5-10 second, works again.

    http://www.filmindirin.com/

    I suppose the reason is changed permalinks in functions.bb-template. I change topic and tags links.

    Rest assured it’s not permanently deleted (just do NOT do a recount).

    There may be a bug somewhere in the 1.0.2 api

    There are a few things you can try.

    First, if you are using permalinks, temporarily turn that feature off, it might help. Then go try undeleting it again.

    bbPress also has a “safemode” just in case a plugin is interfering.

    Temporarily try putting

    $bb->safemode=1;

    into your bb-config.php file

    Then try undeleting it again.

    (remove that line and restore permalinks afterwards)

    If all that fails, you need to have phpmyadmin or similar on your hosting.

    If you have that, you can manually go into the topics database table and change the status back to 0

    10 months ago, someone reported the same problem

    https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/undelete-topics-does-not-work

    So be sure to try 1.0.3 (you should upgrade anyway).

    If that does not change things, the fix might only exist in bbPress 1.1 which is supposed to have a release candidate by the end of this month (maybe).

    The forum that I am a moderator of is currently running bbPress versoin 1.0.2.

    The problem that wwe ahve experienced is one of our moderators accidentally deleted an entire topic. Whenever we enter the admin section and go to undelete the entire topic, it just leads us to a blank page and it doesn’t ever undelete the thread.

    Is there a way to fix this or are we screwed?
