What happened to the 2.0.3 plugin in the WordPress plugin directory?

Thank you for the explanation Jaja.

Unfortunately I have a very cheap provider. I can try and ask them to increase the limit, but before that I’d like to be sure that this is actually the issue.

The thing I don’t understand is why this was working well a few hours ago, and now it’s needing more memory. I didn’t add any plugin. I even removed the existing forums and re-started bbPress from the beginning. It currently has just one forum with just one topic in it.

What I did today (between the moment it was working and the moment it was broken) is try various plugins (all uninstalled now), especially Buddypress, Mingle Forum, Simple:Press, Role Scoper and Groups.

Note that the individual forum page and the topic page work fine. It’s only the main page with the list of forums that generate the error message.

    @Docchewbacca

Contact your hosting-provider and ask them to upgrade the PHP memory. Give them an example of your Error and they’ll know what to do.

    http://ocaoimh.ie/2012/05/16/fatal-error-allowed-memory-size-of-67108864-bytes-exhausted/

Those memory bumps only work if your hosting-provider let you increase this memory. If they don’t and have blocked this feature you have to contact them and ask them friendly to increase it for you.

Most providers don’t care and help you with this problem but sometimes the very cheap M.F&#krs providers don’t and start complaining about everything that is wrong in this world.

    ;)

I’m having the same error but not after upgrading anything.

It worked just fine this morning, throughout the day I installed and uninstalled various plugins (after testing their features and feeling unsatisfied). My site has the same plugins set as this morning, same bbPress and WordPress versions, no other plugin has been updated, but now when I’m trying to reach the main bbpress forums page, I have this error message.

“Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 72 bytes) in /home/users5/a/asceeceteo/www/wordpress/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 137”

    url: http://nantes.ascee-ceteo.fr/forums/

@jaredatch: I tried the memory bump plugin but it didnt fix the problem

If you are using the bbPress plugin, try my plugin at https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/forum-restrict//

    Hi.

I have a couple of questions in relation to bbpress.

    1. How do I add moderators to the forum?

    2. How do I go about getting people to sign up to the forum before they can see questions and post questions.

    Hello,

I’m looking for the translation files to translate bbpress. I can’t seem to find any.

    Thanks!

    Hi JJJ

    Thanks for your reply.

I asked this question mainly as I am not sure which bbPress forum style I like best-bbPress 2010 style or bbPress Kakumei style and wondered if I could somehow use both styles on the same blog.

I’m sure it is possible to do this but it is not really practical or a good idea!-I should decide which bbPress style I want/prefer and stick with one! Much simpler/easier!

I suppose if I had the time I could theme up my own bbPress theme as a cross between 2010 & Kakumei but this could take me too much time so I will not try that now!

My blog actually runs with WordPress multisite so I could always do a new site but this was not really what I meant (but thanks for mentioning it).

Lastly I’m not really sure what you mean by running bbPress 2 & bbPress 1 side by side like BuddyPress users do? I originally set my blog up for BuddyPress but as I couldn’t seem to get group & sitewide forums to work together I have disabled BuddyPress forum and now am using bbPress forum only.

    Best wishes

I think I created a forum and then a topic, each separately! Well, thanks and again, I want to be able to have reply nested as many as possible. But I don’t see a “Reply” on the “Reply” box?

    Hi John, yes I did.

    Did you create any forums?

Hi, I have just downloaded bbPress. To test my forum, I created a topic and then attempted to reply to it but I get the error msg that the Forum ID is missing/not found.

What is a Forum ID? And where can I find it? What should I do next?

This is kind of urgent, please. Someone help?

It’s possible, but I don’t see why you’d want to run bbPress 2.x and bbPress 1.x side-by-side if you didn’t have to (like BuddyPress users currently need to do.)

It’s much easier to do this with bbPress 2.x, and WordPress multisite. Just create a new site, and activate bbPress on it, too. Boom; two forums.

The lesson you’ve learned is more important than any answer you will get…

    Don’t modify core files.

You’ll want to delete the bbPress directory completely, and replace it with a new installation.

Best changelog I have is in our trac. It outlines every ticket and code change since 2.0 was released.

Thanks for your offer to help. What do you want to do? You can basically write your own ticket. If you’re familiar with IRC, you can join #bbpress on freenode; many of us idle there together to chat about what we’re working on.

User profiles are always public, and no – you cannot edit a profile that is not yours unless you are a keymaster.

If it was a security hole (which it’s not) posting about it in a public forum is a no-no.

The “…This is how your profile…” string is part of bbPress 1.1, and not part of 2.0, but I see you’re using 2.0 on your site.

All of this, makes me confused. :)

2.0.3. bbPress 2.1 will be out soon? Do you have a changelog I can look over? I’m excited to see it.

Also, I’m putting my site on hiatus. I’m tired of it for a while. But you know what I would like to do? I’d like to help with bbPress. I think the total integration with WordPress that bbPress has is one of the best things ever accomplished for the blogging platform. I would love to assist, do some testing, give some of my thoughts, help promote bbPress, and even help with some new features that I have been hoping or wishing I could see in bbPress’s future.

I don’t know how much help you guys get, but it doesn’t seem like a lot. I wouldn’t ever want to see bbPress die. I want to help, if I may. I know very little about PHP or HTML, but every coder should have a team, to help with the things that coders aren’t best at. I want to help!

What version of bbPress are you using? I think this issue is already fixed in 2.1 beta 1.

Also, thanks for the kind words. :)

Ok.. so, I’m trying to make the Magazine Basic theme support bbPress. It WAS working just fine.

I don’t know what I did, but next time I went to my forums page, it looked Like This.

Can someone help me with this problem?

[RESOLVED] – It was the plugin bbPress Shortcode Whiteist that was causing the problem. Deactivated and I am good to go.

Just to add to this post – it doesn’t matter what theme I use – I have no posts/replies being listed – even if I use the stock bbPress TwentyTen.

I really need help getting this back online.

BUMP. I also have same problem. Have a ton of sketchy users that popped up while not using the forum, and now when I login, even as keymaster, I can not see any delete user options either in the full user list, or in the edit user window.

    BBPress standalone, v 1.1.

PLEASE anyone lend a hand. thanks.
