Are there any docs on the new dynamic user roles JJ?
Cheers mate!
The TwentyTen files were pulled out of bbPress core. I’ll be releasing it as a plugin this week, for anyone that still wants the old table-based templates.
I’ve made a lot of CSS work on that template but i choose it just because it has a single column base. Is there an option to not-show the sidebar with theme compat? If there ins’t I think it would be a great add
thank you guys 🙂
Anyone knows why it’s telling me this when I click the “Register” button on the site? My main purpose for using BBpress is to be able to have users register.
Any ideas?
I’m using:
WP Version 3.4.2
BBPress Version 1.6.1

To answer your questions:
Have you refreshed permalinks by visiting Settings > Permalinks?
Yes, I’ve gone into Settings > Permalinks and re-saved the permalink (/%postname%/)
Are only your BuddyPress group forums not displaying correctly? If you have sitewide forums, are those working?
I don’t have any sitewide forums, only BuddyPress group forums, but I’m using the standalone bbPress plugin, rather than the bbPress plugin that comes with BuddyPress. Unfortunately no forums are working
Does BuddyPress have a Forums tab in Settings > BuddyPress?
No, I haven’t enabled the forum setting in BuddyPress. I’m using the standalone bbPress plugin for the forums
If yes, BuddyPress is trying to handle your group forums using its internal (older) version of bbPress.
Is “Allow BuddyPress Groups to have their own forums” checked in Settings > Forums?
Yes, this is still checked
If yes, then bbPress is trying to handle the Group Forums. Have you imported your Group Forums using Tools > Forums > Import?
Yes to the first question. I haven’t tried importing the Group Forums using Tools > Forums > Import. The forums were all working prior to upgrading to bbPress 2.2

I kind of follow what you are asking but in no way can I offer you a solution sadly (I wish I could but alas I am still learning).
I hope this article can may help in the direction you want to go though with custom queries and bbPress.

@Alain,I have replied to the thread you started here as this is not related to any bugs with bbPress 2.2.
bbPress does not currently support subscribing by email for anonymous users and as you point out there are no plugins (as at the time this posted) to perform this task either.
You have a couple of options: Write a plugin yourself, get someone else to write the plugin for you or submit a ‘feature request’ at https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ explaining in detail the feature you want to see in future versions of bbPress.
Hello !
Nobody for my question ???
Why any visitor can open a topic and write a response, while only REGISTERED users (username + password) will have access to the box for reply notification by mail?
I would like the mail notification is ok for all users, registered and not registered users.
To date, no response obtained in any forum, and no plugin found …
Is it possible to have a new version with this option in the panel settings, plaese ?
Best regards
Alain

A solution was reached by disabling TinyMCE and installing a plugin called “bbPress Post Toolbar”
No database connectivity. I suspect something else besides bbPress is broken.
Also, there is no bbPress 2.2.1 yet; it’s what comes next to address any bugs in 2.2.
hello,
after the latest bbpress update my forums don’t work (when you click a forum topic, there are no posts or replies) and my navigation bar is also gone, along with my logo. It seems something has broken the buddypress system, I even use the default bp theme. http://msflights.net/forums/forum/general-discussion If you click any of the topics, there are no replies, it is just blank once it loads up.
What should I do to fix this?
thanks
The TwentyTen files were pulled out of bbPress core. I’ll be releasing it as a plugin this week, for anyone that still wants the old table-based templates.
I test updated bbPress 2.2 (it does NOT say that it is 2.2.1) on my MAMP server, and it is now missing several of the Settings from 2.1.3 that I actually used.
“Theme Packages – Current Package” is gone, which I set to Twenty Ten (bbPress) on my sites, although then I use the ‘bbPress (Twenty Eleven)’ child theme from ServerPress.com as my active theme – which may negate any effect of this setting.
I don’t see the “Per RSS Page” settings any more, and I have “Akismet – Use Akismet” selected on the production site in 2.1.3; now those are gone in 2.2.
I did not see anything in the Changelog for 2.2 that led me to expect these changes.
I also have ‘Search bbPress 2.0’ ver 1.0 from ServerPress.com installed; I wonder if that will still work in 2.2.x???
After a bad week following an update from Wordfence 3.3.7 to 3.4.1 (just fixed in 3.4.4), I am in no hurry to update another major plugin on my site prematurely.
Done, upgraded immediately. Everything seems to work fine but i can’t see the theme selector in main settings.. is it normal or is a bug? I’d love to find it back cuz I need to set it back from default theme compat to twentyten
I have the same issue, and in the plugin folder there is no bbp-theme-compat folder after the upgrade.
Bloody hell, I have this now!
BBPress was just instantly marking these posts by this user as spam, even though they weren’t!
Is there an option somewhere that would have marked this user as spammer which would go away when their role is changed to Participant?
What’s really bizarre is, I have installed the user roles plugin just now and examined user capabilities in both the plugin menu and directly in the DB looking at the capability entry string.
The free user that can’t currently post, has the EXACT same capabilities as those free users who CAN post.
There are no differences, and yet this one user account that can’t post seems to be able to write a reply and submit it, the slug in the URL adapts as it should and increases the post number in the slug by one, but it then doesn’t show the post, and it doesn’t appear front or backend.
SO BIZARRE!
If I change their ‘Forum Role’ in the drop down at the bottom of their edit profile dashboard screen to ‘Participant’, then they CAN post normally.
I shouldn’t have to do this though.
Anyone have any kind of clue what else it could be?
I tried installing bbPress 2.2 today because I’ve used it on another site and love it. But, the 3 custom post types didn’t show up in the navigation menu in the Admin panel at all (and entering the URL for them doesn’t work either). The bbPress “Forums” menu items do show up in Settings and Tools though. Strange.
I activated and deactivated all of my plugins and traced it to a conflict between WPMU Appointments+ and bbPress. As soon as I activate Appointments, the bbPress post types vanish. Does anyone have experience with fixing this? I need the Appointments feature on my site and really wish that I could use bbPress instead of some other forum plugin.
WordPress version 3.4.2
bbPress version 2.2
WPMU Appointments+ 1.1.5.1 plugin site
Disable BuddyPress’s Forums component. If you’re using bbPress 2.2 on a brand new installation, it will power everything n
wordpress & bbpress definitely need better role/capability/permissions management, some 3rd party plugins can fill the gap for now, and i imagine the new system will be a step in the right direction, but we need some details on the new system 🙂

Thanks for the error message, but why not include a description of what you’re trying to do?
John – You’ll want to update to bbPress 1.1 first; the schematic changed from 1.0 to 1.1.
