@kevinbcarney The Deleting Conversion Table… Failed is nothing to worry about, this is just cleaning up and removing the extra database table if you had previously imported forums.

Could you clarify what you mean by this, editing WordPress Posts or bbPress topics/replies?
Rob is also correct above (presuming you do want to delete all bbPress data)
- Run “Reset Forums”
- Deactivate bbPress
- Uninstall bbPress plugin
I’ve just tested this and I have no issues accessing the dashboard after performing the above steps.
Caveat: You are correct that the bbp_keymaster role is still assigned to the user in wp_usermeta, though this should not block access for you to WordPress’ dashboard, there is a tweak to the uninstall/deactivation for bbPress 2.6 listed here in #2580. I also came upon another issue that I’m updating a patch for now, but again, none of this should be stopping yopu from accessing the dashboard after deactivation and/or uninstall.
As Rob wrote, what other plugins are you using that may conflict with this? It could be any plugin role or capability related and/or other plugins that extend bbPress functionality.

I installed bbPress last night for the first time and WOW, this is a FANTASTIC plugin!! Very impressed!!
I have two questions so far:
Question #1. How do I edit the following text when someone comes to my forum and isn’t logged in:
“Sorry, this forum is for verified users only. Please Login or Register to continue”
The issue is that both Login and Register are links that lead to the default WordPress Login and Register pages. bbPress doesn’t offer an option in the settings to specify a custom page for both of these links (which needs to be added in a future update) and I’ve searched the .php files under Dashboard > Plugins > Editor > bbPress but can’t find the file to edit/remove the links? My site has been customized with front-end pages for Login/Register/Edit Profile so that no one is sent to the default Login/Register pages or the Dashboard. The default bbPress installation doesn’t work for my site simply bc I can’t edit these links…
Can anyone please point me in the right direction? Which .php file contains that text? Also, under Dashboard > Settings > Forums

Not sure why the team chose to use the word “Forums” here but labeling that tab “bbPress” would make a lot more sense for your users. 🙂 Please add the ability to redirect both of those Login and Register links to whatever URL the user desires here: Dashboard > Settings > bbPress
Question #2. After creating topics, to the far left under the word topic there’s a red X and a clock next to the topic titles (I have two dummy topics so far). If I click on the red X, it won’t delete? Why is that delete icon there while the other is a pretty little clock? I didn’t do this, they were both posted a few minutes apart, and both have different icons?? Very confusing.

Despite recent topics widget is functioning on my website widget.php is considered “inactive” in wordpress and it doesn’t react to any changes. I would really appreciate your help.

The forum on the site that we kept running (SITE B) while re-designing holds the following data:-

Topics 464
Replies 2258
Tags 448
When using the WordPress Export (Tools->Export) on SITE B and then the bbpress import (Tools->Forums) option on SITE A will the system duplicate the old entries and therefore only transfer the new Topics, Replies and Tags? Or will I need to do something else first to clear the old data and allow the entire forum data to be imported.
P.S – I have already imported all the users via an S2 Member export and import so all the user ID’s should be in place already.

but i looked at the plugins info and there is a doc embedder button in the visual editor
so maybe try to enable visual editor in bbpress

ok i was able to achieve a full width forum this way with no template editing.
i downloaded https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-sidebars/
i went to my original sidebar in my widgets section
i then clicked it open and pressed the new sidebar location link
A window should popup that says “Define where you want this sidebar to appear.”
i then checked a sidebar for selected post types. then i clicked pages, and posts, add whatever else that you may have, but none that are custom post types that are affiliated with bbpress, (topics, forums, replies)
that should do it.
i dont know if any other custom sidebar plugin does this (woosidebars etc.) but i do know this should work.

I’ve translated 100% of plugin with poedit and I don’t want to rewrite the same strings again in GlotPress project.
As I’m not a validator I assume I can’t replace the whole file but I’ve to rewrite all the missing stings one by one.

Cool, the timezone thing makes sense if you are going to use explicit times and dates eg. 11th January 2011, though just take a look at this page we are discussing this on here, everything is relative, 12 hours ago, 1 day 7 hours ago etc.
So this is partially the way bbPress works around this issue, if WordPress Core fully supported users locales then we would for sure update bbPress to also include this.’

Also, WordPress doesn’t support multiple timzezones for users so this is not included with bbPress for that reason, they appears to be a few plugins that might be able to do this though I haven’t seen any that are compatible with bbPress, but you could have a look yourself.

On individual topics and replies, this is not possible without additional coding, and I’m not aware of any.
The ‘normal’ way would be
For participants (we are talking bbpress roles here eg participant, moderator, keymaster etc. rather than wordpress roles editor, author etc., as bbpress restricts to bbpress roles )
then create a forum, set it’s status to private, and put all topics in there
For author, editor set these people to be moderators under bbpress, and again set a forum up, but this time set it to hidden, and put topics (and replies) in there
unfortunately that is not the answer I wanted to hear. =P

My site is running mainly CPTs but I filter my search results to a subset of these using this technique:

which works fine for wordpress but when I search within BBP i get the ‘Oh bother! No search results were found here!’ message as you’d expect because of the above filter.
If i remove the filter the BBP search works fine, and if I add ‘forum’, ‘topic’, ‘reply’ to the above filter BBP search works fine, but the problem is get I the forum results appearing in the main search results page.
Also, If i remove the filter all together I still get forum results appearing in the main results page.
Is there a way to exclude forums results from appearing in the main search?
