    Dears,

    I have configured many forums using bbpress (v 2.2.4 and wordpress 3.5.1) and WPML (v 2.7.1)
    and I can reach topic pages http://fr.no-obsolescence.com/forums/forum/images-et-videos/
    but replies not. I thing my website users would really appreciate to see their replies πŸ˜‰

    I am using the theme available here: http://organicthemes.com/demo/shop/
    I guess perhaps one person with more experience than me could support me in such a fix?

    I have tried to force the usage of loop-replies.php but it seems that while ( bbp_replies() ) always returns false :'( even if the blue rectangle just before is showing This topic contains 1 reply, has 1 voice, and was last updated by Thibaut de Sany 15 minutes ago. ??

    With kindest regards,
    Thibaut de Sany.

    I have not tried this plugin and it hasn’t been updated in a while but it states it supports the bbPress plugin https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-html-sitemap/

    Hi guys,

    I’m implementing fulltext search for my company’s forums site which is based on bbPress 2 (plugin version 2.2.4). I think I should start with the wp_posts_fulltext_search table (MYISAM engine) that’s intended by WordPress for fulltext search. However, this table is not updated whenever a bbPress forum topic/reply is created/updated/deleted. How should I handle this problem?

    So I have to apologize. That’s actually my plugin and I had an “oops” in the readme.txt.

    What you did was close, except the CSS file needs to be placed in `yourtheme/css/bbpress.css`.

    Once you move it bbPress should auto detect it. I’ve updated my plugin to reflect the correct path, thanks for pointing that out.

    I am pretty sure this plugin has something with setting the forum hours.

    https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress-vip-support-plugin/

    It hasn’t been updated in a while but there is an unofficial update on GitHub

    Hi there folks!

    This has been frustrating, my forum used to be an stand alone version 1.0.2

    As suggested in another tread, I updated first to 1.2, that process went smoothly, so I thought I was close to victory, but so far it still eludes me!

    Each time i try to import the old forums using the 2.2.4 forum import function with my DB Name, DB User, DB Pass, DB prefix (default bb_) , it runs the process smoothly saying there is no users to import, no forums to import and so on.

    Is there a step I may be missing?

    Minor point: if a topic is moved from one forum to another, the freshness is not updated. So one can have links to the same topic from both the old and new forums.

    This is only overwritten when a new post is made to the old forum (on a different topic, obviously)

    2.2.4 with 3.5.1

    Is there a widget you can add that will show the most recently updated posts and new topics combined? I know there is one for replies, and one for topics, but I would like to be able to just have one sidebar widget rather than two.

    After a few failed attempts, I was able to successfully do the conversion from bbpress 1.02 standalone version to the latest plugin version (2.2.4). Doing this requires a few steps and I might do a blog post about this later but for now:

    1. You need to update the standalone version to 1.2. I tried importing without doing this and some data, like parent forums didn’t get converted so I ended up with a bunch of forums with no parent (and if you have a big forum, you don’t want that).

    To update you need to download version 1.2 from https://bbpress.org/download/legacy/ and then download the backpress and pomo files that you see below version 1.2. You then need to create a folder called “backpress” in the “bb-includes” folder and dump in all files that come in the backpress-1.2-bbpress includes folder.

    So you’ll have: bbpress>bb-includes>backpress>class.bp-log.php and so on…

    Then download the pomo files and create a folder called “pomo” inside the “backpress” folder. Dump in the files you downloaded in there.

    So you’ll have: bbpress>bb-includes>backpress>pomo>entry.php and so on…

    Now you can update your standalone version to 1.2 as you did in the past. Be careful not to delete your bb-config.php and your old templates (if you had custom templates). Make sure you log in to your admin panel so the database gets updated.

    2. Now you are ready to import using the import tool in wordpress. Download and install latest bbpress plugin version, then go to Tools>Forums>Import Forums and follow the instructions to import all your information (don’t forget to put “bb_” as your table prefix).

    Hope this helps

    Let’s try this again…

    Open up the following PHP document in the bbPress plugin, found at –

    bbpress/templates/default/bbpress/user-profile.php

    Using the AIM field as an example, add the following –

    `
    `

    Now you probably shouldn’t alter these files, as the next time bbPress is updated, the update will overwrite this. You’ll need to make a copy of the file under your theme directory. So it should look like this –

    yourTheme/bbpress/user-profile.php

    Hi – we have BBPress 2.24 running on WP 3.5.1 here: http://contagiousjoy4him.com

    My client noticed a week or so ago that the forums were only showing for admins after she wasn’t getting any visits/comments on the forum.

    Here’s what I’ve tried to troubleshoot:
    1. deactivated all plugins except for BBpress
    2. switched to 2011 and 2012 theme

    All to no avail. Nothing has been added, only some possible updates, and since I didn’t do them, I’m not sure what was updated by the client. Even so, deactivating plugins and clearing out cache and attempting it on a basic theme – I would think it would work.

    Any ideas – your help/advice/input is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

    Our groups page is not listing anything past page 1, have had a look but can’t seem to find any settings that may be affecting it? Would anyone have any idea how, where or why this is happening? Just updated to latest version of Buddypress so know it’s not that, and all the groups are visible when logged in as admin.

    I’ve been trying to figure this out since I updated to 2.2.4 but I can’t seem to get it. When ever anyone tries to edit their reply in our forums they get a 500 error, however the OP can always edit the first post of a topic. I’m not sure what to do, any suggestions?

    I spoke too soon… the backend looks like everything is connected coorrectly- forums-posts- users. The front end shows something similar to this on all forum pages

    This forum contains 11 topics and 19 replies, and was last updated etc…

    Oh bother! No topics were found here!

    Just to let you know I have no updated the original link but I don’t think it has the changes you made. Good thing to know for anyone using Github, always sync before you make any changes that is what got me stuck.

    I meant to say I HAVE updated the original link.

    If I get any strange issues the first thing I do is updated the permalinks and resave them.

    Have you made any changes inside settings > forums you can change the base url and things like that,

    Hi guys,

    Up until a couple of weeks ago every other post on the main page of my forum had a really nice blue background so as to make the posts stand out and look more separate. It has suddenly stopped doing this and now all the posts have a white background. I have updated all my plugins but this has still not resolved the issue. Can you please help me get the blue backgrounds back. I have been to the css.style page and the coding in relation to the forum is below, should there be something else?

    /*————————————-
    3. FORUM
    ————————————-*/

    #content table tbody tr.odd td {
    background-color:#dldcf9 !important;

    }

    Thanks,

    Jamie

    @Lynq,

    I just sent you a pull request over at GitHub and updated all the things.

    • Update to latest bbPress r4754 code changes
    • Added README.md
    • Updated bbpress-functions.php
    • Updated bbpress.css
    • Added custom CSS changes to bbpress-rtl.css
    • Removed unused templates

    bbPress r4754 is at this stage bbPress 2.3 Beta 2 and I am pretty sure any other changes we make before releasing 2.3 won’t affect any of what I just updated.

    There are no changes to your code, just the bbPress updates to the latest version available.

    I did search this forum for an answer with no luck. Some user named “anonymous” posted spam about snoring on my ElectricityClub.org forum. No such user to delete! My admin account sees no way to delete the post either! The forum settings have the anonymous setting unchecked like it should be. I have all the latest updated plugs. How to I get rid of the current user and post and prevent such intrusions in the future?
