“Where can I contribute translations
https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/plugin/”
I was willing to translate to Spansh, since is my mother language, and I need it. I translated a few things and realised that it didn’t work, they need to be aproved to be downloaded. Then I saw this:
Language % Translated Untranslated Waiting
Spanish (Spain) 0% 0 706 818
Almost everything has been already translated, but is not aproved. I’ve been reading and it might not be perfect, since some words are still in english (for instance Topic instead of “Hilo/Tema”), but it would be great to have access to that translation. There’ll be time for future improvements, I am the first one interested.
So, who’s in charge of it?
Thank you.
PD: I need it for this http://www.opes.es/ new website. I got a translation file but is not completed. I am also looking for a guide to develop a plugin using the rewrite module, since the dynamic tests are now created using ?ID=x …
@Erlend you are the best! Vanilla is perfect…BBPress I guess just isn’t the right tool for this job.
Thanks!!!!
Is anybody using BBPress any more? My only reply so far was spam.
I’ve tried the shortcode for the index page, and it’s not taking me to my forum.

I’m trying to use the plugin version.
I am always updating the files as soon as I see an update here:
https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/branches/plugin/ so I am REALLY looking forward to see that update
Cheers JJJ
I would suggest you to use the standalone version
It’s this ticket: https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/1576
Giving the “edit_other_forums” cap seemed to solve it.
Ahh you’re right it is in the reply spam, so only 1 and 2 above is a problem…
I’ve had this happen in my install as well, most of the time the post contained a link. It’s visible in the backend though, look for the hidden replies (or hidden topics) count.
It seems like the spam control is a bit too triggerhappy.
Sorry. But that thread doesn’t want bugs either
I’ll just do what John wrote in the long thread you link to, and write a new thread for each issue (hoping they won’t drown in the flow of regular bbPress queries)
I understand that we did wrong, but I don’t understand why a moderator didn’t just split the thread, since I think the comments are very valid regarding bbPress.
@Buslawekee, @tntc1978 and @Mike1233, please don’t make this into another bbPress 2.0 Updates thread. We’ve been given specific topics to which John wanted additional feedback. Anything not related to those clearly defined topics belong in their own threads, or a new ticket on Trac if it’s a valid bug report.
Separate as in users, or just not an inherent part of WordPress?
I highly recommend Vanilla:
http://vanillaforums.org/
That’ll give you a tight integration with WordPress, but through a “bridge”, so CMS and Forum remain two distinct systems.
I created a new database & tried again. Got the same type of error. I am unable to proceed. I would like to use BBPress, as PHPBB is too complex for my needs. Does anybody know why this install is failing?

lol no…it’s a great thing, but I just wanted WP and the forum to be seperate. Probably the only person who wants this.
So, Custom Post Types / Taxonomies aren’t powerful enough for you?
Yea I did and it looks like it is just custom post types/taxonomies/etc.
Maybe I am better off just switching to vBulletin…

I didn’t try it myself, but you can import posts from the stand-alone edition. Try searching for it.
Either way, I would suggest you get a beta running where you try it out first, before you employ it on any live site.
Like…Is there documentation for the upgrade process?
That’s because the WordPress plugin is still in beta. There’s bits and pieces of information all over the forum and you can always ask questions of course.
Hi there,
I’ve added bbPress as a plugin to my WordPress install.
I’ve also created a page called ‘Forum’. I’ve created two forums, but the only way I can get them to display is to view them directly from the admin panel.
How do I make these visible from the forum link on my page?
With thanks,
DC.
I noticed that BBPress 2 is a WP plugin, where the first was a standalone. Is there documentation for the upgrade process? Can you still have separate themes?
Any documentation or information on the latest would be great but I can’t find anything on the site.
Thank you!
I thought my issue was resolved in another posting but it wasn’t after all. When I install the bbPress 1.0.3 standalone, I get an error during the creation of the bb_posts table and it fails (it’s the only table that doesn’t get created in my database). Is there anything I can do to fix this? It’s my second attempt installing with the same error:
Referrer is OK, beginning installation…

[Step 2 and 3 deleted here by me]
There were some errors encountered during installation!
I had a (good regular)user keep posting af reply to a topic, but he didn’t see the comment. Fortunately he wrote me, and I found it marked as spam (several times) in the database.
That must be three problem:
1. The user wasn’t notified that his comment was marked as spam
2. The user had a bunch of approved comments, so this shouldn’t happen should it?
3. I couldn’t see this anywhere in the WordPress backend
