    I installed 2.0 (Beta 3) RC2

    WordPress – 3.2.1

    http://www.example.com/forum/sample-forum-2/ (Accessible)

    http://www.example.com/forum/ (nothing is displayed)

I was expecting http://www.gortp.com/forum/ page to list all the public forums.

Do I have to configure additional settings?

    Hey there!

I found a solution by checking out how to tweak the avatar size for standard Gravatars in WordPress and then applied it to the BBPress code like so:

    <?php post_author_avatar_link(‘avatar_size=100’); ?>

I know it’s 2 years ago someone posted, but I figured it might be useful to somebody :)

Has anyone upgraded from bbPress 1.0.2 to 1.0.3? I am wondering if it is worth it and what are the updates. Any problems to watch out for when upgrading?

    Thanks,

    Toni

Hello. I confess I am struggling with this. I think it might be very very helpful to (albeit minority of noob types like myself) to visually SEE what a simple and successful wordpress + bbpress plugin project looks like — untweaked and “for the rest of us” …

I just installed bbPress plugin and started using it but can’t get it to lool ANYTHING like what you have shown above..

I have struggled setting up SImplePress–but it was SLOW

Then phpPress — it was a monster headache

now I am SOLD on bbpress but am stuck setting it up to look great!

I am willing to PAY someone to help me “pimp” it, but actually only need it to look moderately cool.

Here is my site just in case anyone is interested

    Hi all,

I’m looking to change the css of the single topic page. I get to this page from the main forum by clicking a topic name. It is completely unstyled. I’m using the new bbpress plugin.

Saves it to the uploads folder, specifically the current month. Check In media in WordPress admin to see the files.

    I will make it optional.

    Hello

One site I read on a regular basis uses BBPress for its forum (no idea which version), and there are two things I don’t like about it:

    1. When I receive an e-mail telling me that someone has added a message to a thread and I click on the link, I end up on the first page of the thread instead of the last

    2. There is no Preview option before posting a message.

Is it possible to tweak BBPress to support those two features?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

In BBpress 2.0 RC2, the default reply form template contains a box called Tags, which enables users to add tags.

The problem is that existing tags for the topic/post are preexisting in the Tag textbox as well, which also enables random users to be able to delete the existing tags (if they want to) when replying to a post.

Is there a way to hide the existing tags from the default reply form template to prevent users to delete the tags accidentally?

I get the following error when my users try to update their account information through bbPress user pages:

Fatal error: Call to a member function get_error_codes() on a non-object in /wp-content/plugins/bbpress/bbp-includes/bbp-common-functions.php on line 1392

I disabled all plugins other than bbpress and still get the same error.

    WordPress is up todate.

    bbPress is up todate.

I’m using a custom theme based off of what was in the bbPress folder, but I didn’t update the files to rc1 template files, could this be the issue?

    Right!

    Thank you for the tip.

I did exactly this (installed in separate plugins) and it worked fine.

The only thing that is kept turned on the option to create forums in groups, since they are different subjects of the forum site.

But both work very well (bbPress and BuddyPress).

    Thanks!

Hello, I am a bbPress newbie and I’m trying to change the layout of the forums so that the author column can be gotten rid of at least for the first post, if not all of them, and placed elsewhere on the page. I guess it would end up looking like a wordpress forum, so the author in the postinfo at the top or something like it, without having to sacrifice screen real estate. I don’t care if responders have that column or not. Does anybody have any ideas as to how I can do this, or know of any plugins that can make it happen?

    #107799

Tracked the problem down to an issue with Genesis.

I submitted the bug to Genesis trac. Not sure if a fix will make it to core, but if it doesn’t I’ll release a plugin that should prevent this issue from happening for others who are looking to run bbPress with Genesis.

What I did at http://www.swnk.org is install the bbPress & Buddypress plugins separately from each other. I’m not using the forums function of buddyPress and I’m re-directing the forum profiles to the BuddyPress profiles for instance.
