I’m using the newest versions of everything (wp, bbpress) but the forum index is showing up in what appears to be a preview box? Maybe? Not really sure whats going here. But any help would be greatly appreciated. I’ve left a link to an image that shows what i’m talking about.

s’il vous plaît contacter l’auteur du thème, et lui demander d’y remédier. ce n’est pas un bug bbPress, mais il peut y avoir incompatibilité.

I am currently creating my first wordpress theme. I want it to be compatible and work with bbpress, but i’m running into some snags.

First off, I would like the “fancy editor” or “visual editor” to be available to users replying to and creating forum topics. But the Visual editor does not work, you cannot click on its tab to switch to it, you are forced to use the html editor. I do have the fancy editor option enabled in the bbpress options.

When i activate the twenty ten theme the Fancy Editor works as intended. But not with my theme im developing.

Is the a theme option, or theme support I need to include in my functions.php to get the fancy editor to work?

They were all set to 0, but when I changed some other forums’ values, they started moving around. Thanks for this solution.

Check all your forums for what they are set to as you may have some set to 0

Try activating the bbPress plugin!

Try disabling all of your plugins (As in all of them not just the bbPress related ones)

Now go check your forum and make sure everything looks like it should.

Still have problems then it could be your theme, switch to Twenty Eleven or Twenty Twelve if you find its an issue with your theme contact the theme authors to see if they have any suggestions for using bbPress with their theme.

If it is still not working correctly re-install the bbPress plugin.

Once you are happy that the forum is working as it should now start enabling your plugins one by one and test bbPress activating each one until you find the offending plugin or plugins.

What role does the user show as if you disable the ‘Members Plugin’?

To test this properly I would suggest disabling the members plugin and then create a new user and assign them the bbPress role ‘Moderator’ and then view their profile from another user context.

Hi.

I haven’t found an option to shift certain forums on bbPress up or down on the page. I’ve searched on the internet but the only results that come up are ones to do with exporting and importing forums or moving topics to different forums. I’ve made an Introduce Yourself forum on my site’s forum but it’s all the way at the bottom and I want new users to notice it but I couldn’t find a way to move it to the top of the page. Is this possible, and if so, how?

I have tried to upgrade my install of bbpress from 1.0.2 to 1.2 (so I can migrate to the plugin version) several times now and I only get a white page. I verified my versions…

Wordpress 3.5.1
PHP – 5.3.3
MySQL – 5.1.61

I disabled all my bbpress plugins, copied over all the files, made sure my template files (custom theme) and my bb-config.php file were still there. I only get a white page after the upgrade. Page source says there is zero code in the page. I have seen other posts with this problem, but have not seen a resolution to the issue.

Am I missing something?

here is a “GT | bbPress Author Drop Down” that works like a charm!
It works for me in BuddyPress, with bbpress forums, WP 3.5.1

I could not find the plugin in the repository, just in github.

For non-specialists:
You have to copy the file content (that you see on the github page) in a new file, save it as a php, put it in a zip file on your desktop, and then install the plugin by using the “uload a zip” feature in your wordpress installation.

I tried to use the bit of code postet here above by Anointed.
I put it in the functions.php file of my buddypress theme.
It didn’t have any effect…

On the other hand, I found a plugin that does the job, but just partially:

This plugin works fine, but it allows me to change only the COMMENTS authors, not also the REPLIES authors.

Hello,

I started using bbpress for our organisation but i noticed that it’s not possible to post new topics or replies from the front end of the site without bbpress showing the ERROR: Your topic cannot be empty warning.

The topic title stays intact but the message field get’s deleted and users can’t post anything.

On the other hand, admins can freely post via backend and the topics are then visible…could someone please try to help me resolve this issue?

I have installed bbpress forum on my blog http://www.geekspage.org/ , created new forums and topics. I can view topics and forums, but i cant see forum index page.

I have created a new page with name Forums to see if it works, but it didnot help.

Used the shortcode [bbp-forum-index] it works on other pages but it did not work on Forums page. I have created a test page and used the shortcode it works fine, here is the test page link test. Shortcode didnot work on Forums page, here is the link forums

I dont know what to do please help me.

After installing bbPress, enabling and adding a forum, when I navigate to the page of the forum I get a message ‘Content Not Found’. The same on TwentyEleven theme.

wondering if someone can help me out with the following bbpress query. The tag below when used directs website users to the profile page for wordpress.

Does anyone know the tag required to take bbpress forum members to the bbpress profile page where mambers can also see the topics they have started?

Hi I have a problem still and I followed the steps of uploading the bbpress-fr_FR.po and bbpress-fr_FR.mo of the latest version with changed names to content/languages/bbpress but it still doesn’t work. It’s driving me nuts ! Help would be appreciated.
