    Topic: Forum width

    Hello,

BBpress 2.0 Plugin is using the standard content width of my WordPress installation for showing. But i would like to have it full width (920 px instead of 550px). Because of my posts is not a option to change the default content width.

How to change this for BBpress only?

    Thanx in advance!

I don’t know if this is the right forum for this. Nevertheless, I’ve done some search in the forums and haven’t seen an answer or topic with this problem:

Whenever I try to update my user profile (with the Yahoo info, for example) I get this error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function get_error_codes() on a non-object in /**********/wp-content/plugins/bbpress/bbp-includes/bbp-common-functions.php on line 1392

I’m using the latest version (2.0-rc-2) of the bbPress plugin for WordPress.

    Hi Everyone,

I’m not a super hacker or anything, but I have some basic competence with computers. I’ve been tasked with converting our phpbb3 to bbpress standalone and now to bbpress plugin. I’ve managed to do phpbb to bbpress, but i am stuck at converting standalone to plugin.

We currently have wordpress users as well as bbpress users for our forums. We would like to maintain separate users for each. My major question is, how do I convert bbpress to the bbpress plugin and maintain those user categorations?

We do not want our forums users to be able to affect our wordpress account. This is the only information I can find:

bbPress Standalone to Plugin Converter Beta 2

    Currently, there are three situations:

    1. You have a new WordPress blog, to which you are migrating to and an established forum. Then, you would go to user migration section first and then proceed to forums, topics, posts migration section. In this process, all your WordPress users would be deleted (well, renamed to another table) and in place of those, bbPress users would be added. A keymaster will be WP admin, bb admin and moderator will be bbPress plugin moderators, rest all would be converted to the default WP role (which can be set in your WordPress settings).

    2. Your WordPress and bbPress user tables are integrated. You don’t need the user migration process and you can directly go to forums, topics, posts migration section. No worries.

    3. You have a established WordPress blog, with a good number of users and can’t afford to lose those. This is currently not supported as it is hard to merge two conflicting user sets.

    Hello,

Somehow i don’t get BBPress Plugin working. When i try to view the forum i get redirected to the homepage. Only when i disable Buddypress everything is working and i’m able to view the forum.

I’m using WordPress 3.2.1 and the 2.0 RC2 of the plugin.

    How to solve this?

    Thanx in advance@

bbPress 2.0 is a plugin to WordPress. WordPress plugins can integrate with bbPress 2.0.

bbPress 1.x has its own plugins system.

I am using BbPress plugin forum for WordPress.

When I create new topic it has a field for tags, which I enter with commas between normally.

THE THING IS THE TAGS DON’T DISPLAY ANYWHERE ON FORUM.

I think before I updated, the tags appeared on top of the page when reading discussion, but now there are’n there, anywhere.

DID I MESS THE CODE, or are tags not displayed anymore in the new versions of bbpress WordPress plugin?

I don’t get bbPress with WP and BuddyPress to work properly – maybe because I don’t understand the central point (and yes, I read everything I could get hold of ;)

    My configuration:

    WordPress 3.2.1.

    BuddyPress 1.5.2 beta

    bbPress 2.0-rc-2

    site http://www.nadelspiel.com/clubneu/

BP 1.5.2 beta included a complete bbPress folder within the directory /buddypress/bp-forums,

I was able to run the install/setup through BP administration.

On the site I see group forums only.

I am confused as of having to install the bbPress Plugin too. Because if I do, the forums administration shows up in my WP control panel. But still the general forums don’t show in the frontend.

So, what am I missing? I am really desperate!

Thank you for your help, kind regards from Austria,

    eliZZZa

Certainly kangenguru, integration is actually very simple.

I remember 2 years ago as I suffered to do this on another site, they were separate systems. Now, as they are plugins, is extremely easy.

    Congratulations to all team WordPress.

Ah you’re not using the WordPress plugin (2.x) of bbPress… I have no idea how it could work in the standalone, but the procedure should be the same (only other classnames).

    Hi

I have a logout issue which shows an error when I logout of the admin area. The error is:

    Not Found

The requested URL /forum/forum/wp-admin/edit.php was not found on this server.

The WordPress installation is at /forum on the domain and bbpress seems to have added another /forum to the url. If I take that out of the url, it logs out as it should.

If I deactivate the plugin (it’s the only plugin in the WP install) it logs out as it should.

Could anyone throw any light on what might be happening please and how to fix it?

    Thanks

I have 2 sites that I installed on wordpress mu the buddypress plugin and activated bbpress within buddypress. It seemed like an easier implementation. See it here at http://networkmarketingunderground.com.

I have been struggling with this for hours. The forum I am trying to build is at http://www.AdeAdepitan.com/forums

I wanted to install “bbGrunge” and then edit it to fit with my theme. However, I am having no luck installing it.

I would really appreciate it if someone explained in really detailed but using simple terms, how I to install bbGrunge on a wordpress.org bbpress forum.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I think I’m probably missing something very simple, but I’ve searched and searched and tested several different things, but nothing is working.

Does anyone know if there are themes available for WordPress, with the bbPress child theme (pay or free), other than Twenty Ten?

fyi this place is potentially better for plugin support:

    In reply to: Private Messaging

I think you are talking about this – https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/security-warning-stop-using-private-messaging-plugin

Don’t confuse Private messaging plugin with the bbPM plugin. The latter one is a great plugin. Go ahead and use it.

    https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/bbpm/

Also Ben (plugin author) is already working on a bbPM version which is for the new bbPress (WordPress plugin).

    bbpress RC2:

    1. The search does not work. It searches only in the wordpress default pages, not in forum posts.

    2. The profile edit does not work. It ends with fatal error:

    Fatal error: Call to a member function get_error_codes() on a non-object in … bbpress/bbp-includes/bbp-common-functions.php on line 1392

    3. Stick a top to the front and close it. Add another topic and make it sticky to a forum only. The super sticky topic does not appear everywhere anymore.

I’ve already found the private messaging plugin in the respository, however, I also found out that this plugin is no longer updated and that it might pose a security issue. Therefore my question, what other options are out there to add private messaging to a new bbpress forum?

BTW, I’ve tried the bbpress plugin for wordpress and am having issues with it, so I’d rather stick to a separate board. Otherwise I could integrate private messaging into my WP blog.
