Login, Register, Lost Password links

Published on September 23rd, 2015 by mica123

I know that similar questions have been asked many times – unfortunately I have not found any satisfactory answers – I very much hope for your help as follows:
I set up Forums on full page widths without sidebars.
I would like to have the login, register and lost passwords links at the top of
the forum page the same way as bbPress Support forum has – I am not referring to menu links.
Can you please help?
Many thanks.

Moderator role

Published on September 23rd, 2015 by mica123

I am afraid that I have many problems finding my way around bbpress.
One of the things I didn’t realise is that anyone who registers is actually
going into the list of users in WordPress. How do I know that they are all participants?
If there are many users the list will be very long which is rather worrying.
I also would like to know how I assign the moderator role to a user? I can’t find anything about it anywhere.
I would very much appreciate your help.
Many thanks.

forums redirected to 404 page

Published on September 23rd, 2015 by UgoDimma

Hey buddy

I have bbpress install with buddypress in my WordPress, all with the latest version as at the time of writing this post.

My forums and topics redirects to 404, page not found when my users clicked on any of them, except the forums that are part of the buddypress group the said user is a member of.

As an admin, I can view all of them the normal way without any form of restriction and redirection both at the front and back end.

Even forum category that is the mother of some forums and topics are been redirected to 404 page even if the user has a forum he/she has an access to.

I have followed some directives of people on similar cases, but none works for me, wp-admin –> tools –> forum and recalculated everything there, and went to wp-admin –> tools –> buddypress and recalculated everything.
I went to permalink and update it, but nothing seems to be working.

Please some help.

Sidebar Help

Published on September 22nd, 2015 by wesphily

Hello,

I have searched all over trying to find out how to fix my issue. The website is generalrealestateacademy.com. I have bbpress and buddypress installed on the Nimva theme. I was trying to get a sidebar working on bbpress but was unsuccessful. Now, there is a space to the right like a sidebar is trying to show, but it doesn’t show. Sidebars work on any other page besides the forum.

My first goal is to reclaim the space to the right of the forum so that it is full width. My next goal is to get a sidebar working. (I have tried content aware, bbpress wp tweaks, and other plugins.

Allowing Participants to post “unrestricted HTML”

Published on September 22nd, 2015 by thunksalot

I have a private WordPress community in which I am not concerned about members posting malicious code. The site is a dues-paying professional networking site and the profession is non-techie, so it would be really odd for someone to get malicious on it, and I have back-ups I can restore with were that to happen. That said, I don’t want to make everyone an Administrator because that gives users control over other people’s content, which I don’t want to give them. I just want to give all Participants the ability to paste unrestricted HTML content so that they can copy and paste from Word or a website and have it come through looking just fine, the way I can as an Admin with the “unrestricted HTML” permission. How can I achieve this?

Divi theme and reply threading issue

Published on September 22nd, 2015 by klink

I am using the Divi theme by Elegant Themes and also having this problem–the threaded replies box is checked in settings, but the replies are not nested and there is no cancel button next to submit. Is there a simple fix (fingers crossed?)

Nothing happens after install

Published on September 22nd, 2015 by bo-oz

Hi,

I tried installing bbPress, after activation I was redirected to a page which told me “you have insufficient rights”. After a refresh, the plugin was activated but nothing changed in the menu (no formums menu option, also no settings -> forums was added). I tried deactivating -> activating and completely re-installing the plugin, but nothing worked so far.

I use wordpress 4.3.1 and the latest version bbPress to automated plugin install.

I’m also using WPML, could that be causing conflicts?

Activity stream WP dashboard empty

Published on September 22nd, 2015 by Skvirly

I am using WP 4.3.1, BP 2.3.3 and Sweet date theme. If I activate the bbPress plugin my activity stream on the WP dashboard becomes empty. If I deactivate bbPress my activity stream appears again. Any suggestions what and where to look for to solve this ? Thank you in advance.

Feature request – Featured topics

Published on September 22nd, 2015 by Venutius

I would like to have the ability to “pull out” featured topics and have them appear at the top of the forum, so that the admin can choose to highlight particular topics to the readership.

The idea is that they would appear at the top of the forum list and have a strapline of “Featured”.

An additional option would be the ability to have the featured topic summary emailed to everyone that is not already subscribed to that forum. Perhaps with an unsubscribe button for those that do not want to hear about featured topics.

CSS Questions – Borders and Width

Published on September 22nd, 2015 by aaron2310

Hi guys. I’m after some help for a website I’m currently working on. The board in particular is this – http://www.battle-bridge.co.uk/forums/ I used a plugin called bbp style pack to save me having to go through the CSS to make changes. However, there’s still some changes I was unable to make with this plugin and the author has referred me onto here.

If you see the index of the board the over all borders are the colour I set via the plugin which is #11678C. But some of the borders still remain white and the plugin author has advised me he can’t do. Where in the CSS is this to change? I can’t find it.

Second question is setting forum width. The index and any page with substance content on fill the containers. However, any pages without much such as this http://www.battle-bridge.co.uk/forums/forum/general-discussion/ don’t fill the container. I’d like to set the width to be 100% but I also can’t see that in the CSS.

I’d appreciate being pointed to the right bit. Thank you kindly 🙂
