I found that Invision Power has a product called IP.Blog which, when run with their IP.Board (forum) that will add a “Blog This” check box when you make a forum post. This so far is the closest “off the shelf” functionality I can find.
So would it make more sense to extend the BBPress (forum) side of the solution to “add” a blog article to WP?
Honestly the only reason I ended up here on the BBPress forums is because I figured that’s what “integration” may have meant, but it doesn’t look like thats the case!
Very nice. Nice to see you releasing themes again.
I am going to guess it’s this plugin:
https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/easy-video-embed/
From that page, it does not appear there is an admin page. Just use the bbcode [video][/video] with the URL of the video in between.
There is no admin and there doesn’t appear to be any buttons added to the editor. Just follow the instructions. If you do that, and have a problem, post back.

We have more bbPress themes on the way!
Well, one login works really well if you follow the steps. Don’t rely on the old “5 minute install” or whatever its called these days.
And email notifications has been working as a plugin for about 2 years, and recently Matt decided that it was key to roll it into the core, so you can actually get it working out of the box with teh latest trunk version (which is actually good/stable and an upgrade on bbPress1.0.2).
Can you provide a link to the “Easy Video Embed” plugin here on this website, and we might be able to shed some light? If you downloaded it from another website, i’m afraid we’ll not be able to help unless the author of it frequents this forum regularly (fyi – unlikely)
So you know, if the plugin was a bbpress0.9 plugin, your chances of getting an admin panel are about 1/100. Your chances of it getting an admin panel if you’re using bbpress1.0.2 are very close to non-existant.
Basically, if you could also expand on this a little that’d be ace:
I know you need a code from the video site
What sort of code, and from what video site?
Yeah I am not too sure myself… I am not a big fan of its limited feature set (I hate not being able to receive email notifications of replies to my posts)… really the only reason why I was considering it is because I would like to have ONE login for all my things on my site…
OK.
Maybe you can help with this. I just installed the “Easy Video Embed” into my forum (bbpress 1.0.2 – Crystal Theme). The plugin is activated and the list shows in the admin panel.
How do I access the application from the admin panel to post a video? I looked at posting but there is no video posting in the area…just photo upload links.
I know you need a code from the video site; but there is no place to post it.

bbPress and WordPress users can be sync’d without too much hassle.
Sadly I don’t know the answers to the SMF question, but Paul Hawke has been working on an import to bbPress feature, i think it’s in this thread:
https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/import-data-from-system-xy
That would certainly be my first port of call.
As much as I like bbPress, I’d also strongly advise thinking long and hard before moving to it. It’s feature list is limited at best, and right now Automattic can’t even get the theme fo this website right. AS long as it meets your criteria then Awesome, but definately look into this first
Kev
I was considering moving from SMF to bbPress and I was wondering if users can be imported from SMF to bbPress…
Also is there any way to move content?
And will bbPress users be synced with WP users?
Another fun bug:
The Homepage lists the most recent topics, but for some reason has decided to work out it’s own pagination. It thinks this thread has 15 pages as an example. The issue is that the links to pages 4 to 15 actually work, but just don’t show any posts so it looks like its an error…
Hi!
I want to automatically login if I logged in before, so if I logged in my wordpress site, I automatically login to the bbPress site, and if I logged in bbPress site, I automatically login to my wordpress site.
Anybody help me please!
THX!
Hi, I started a new website in WordPress, with BBPress forum, and I want to see the pages links anywhere (http://veteran.blogja.net , you see the links in top, and I want to see the links anywhere in http://veteran.blogja.net/bbpress).
Is anybody know how to paste my links to the bbpress forum?
Thanx!
Hi. I started creating my new website since May. 22, but I now have a very long list with problems.
So I have wanted to set the language in my WordPress > BBPress forum, but I couldn’t change it.
I installed the BBPress and I copy the language files (my-languages/hu_HU/trunk, tags, branches | trunk’s have 2 files (hu_HU.so/.mo), tags have a directory (0.9.0.6) and the directory’s have two files (hu_HU.so/.mo).
I changed the bb-config file – define( ‘BB_LANG’, ” ); -> define( ‘BB_LANG’, ‘hu_HU’ ); -, but it’s does NOT changed language to hungarian language, so I’m sad now.
Please anybody tell me, khm: write me: How to change the language?!
Thank’s!
Hi I have a few website domains for country specific content and I would like them all to share the same forum.
At the moment they are all hosted on the same wordpress site with different themes to differentiate but I notice that the BBPress software sends all the links back to the original URL I registered with…
Can I change this…
Simple example
http://www.lazygamer.net/forum
and
http://www.lazygamer.co.za/forum
go to the same site but all the links have .co.za in them when I want them to have whichever domain I came from instead
I am using wordpress-mu-2.9.2 and bbpress-1.0.2.
Has anyone implemented this successfully?
please help me to include wpmu sidebar in bbpress template.
Hi Kevin,
I followed these steps, but was unable to fix the problem that way. However, I got around it by changing the bbPress Database Table prefix (in bb-config.php) from
$bb_table_prefix = ‘bb_’;
to
$bb_table_prefix = ‘bb_1’;
Problem solved! Hope that helps someone who has the same issue. Thanks, @chrishajer and @kevinjohngallagher.
Hello all,
Today I am releasing two new bbPress themes:

Terra Firma Two:
Preview
Release Page
I have also updated my older themes:
Misty Morning
Superbold
Carrington
Marked
Please note, my themes have a new location:
http://bbterminal.net/
I hope to continue releasing bbPress themes on a regular basis.
I like this quote on the about page
WordPress and bbPress are siblings, and they get along together a lot better than you and your brother did when you were kids!
I always thought of bbPress as WordPress’s kid sister.
However the alignment of the about page is wonky because of the background image on Customizable Templates.
Neither is “add your plugin”
It’s also missing the tag cloud.
Hopefully they will test and fixup the plugin section soon!
That patch was just a little challenge for myself.
I keep tabs on bbPress, but can’t really give it much time.
I never thought the bozo feature was very elegant.
