Topic: [2.0/RC1] loop-author.php
in forum Themesratsoid2
ParticipantSo, this file is missing. I was trying to get the authors posts on the profile page but I saw that bbPress 2.0 already does that. But not really. Looking through content-single-user.php I noticed something was missing… something like
bbp_get_template_part( ‘bbpress/user’, ‘posts’ );
which needs:
<?php bbp_get_template_part( ‘bbpress/loop’, ‘author’ ); ?>
but there.s no loop-author.php…
Can someone help? Am I missing something? Maybe half of my brain?, because I really think there’s a conspiracy here!

Participant@JJJ – Will you update the “Does this integrate with BuddyPress?” paragraph in the original post?

ParticipantFind all the CSS for tags and just hide them, that’s what I did. Not using them either.
Example:
.bbPress .bbp-form .form-allowed-tags {
display:none;
}

ParticipantAnother argument for this plugin would be multisite friendliness. I think it would be anyhow.
Since the “integration” is simply a matter of the plugin copying the contents of a comment and re-posting it on a forum, it shouldn’t matter whether that’s in example.com/forums (default), forums.example.com (a secondary site) or example.com/secondarysite/forums, so long as that’s specified in the settings.
So if I have a main site for blogging, example.com, and a secondary site for forum discussion (i.e. with bbPress 2 installed on it), forums.example.com, this approach could still work just fine.
Am I correct in this assumption?

Member“Where can I contribute translations
https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/plugin/”
I was willing to translate to Spansh, since is my mother language, and I need it. I translated a few things and realised that it didn’t work, they need to be aproved to be downloaded. Then I saw this:
Language % Translated Untranslated Waiting
Spanish (Spain) 0% 0 706 818
Almost everything has been already translated, but is not aproved. I’ve been reading and it might not be perfect, since some words are still in english (for instance Topic instead of “Hilo/Tema”), but it would be great to have access to that translation. There’ll be time for future improvements, I am the first one interested.
So, who’s in charge of it?
Thank you.

-What if… they give us a nice looking theme like this as a default? That’d rock.
Thanks.

MemberI had to shut down my neighborhood forum due to nasty spam content mostly from Russia. How can I prevent it. I do not have problems in WordPress, just the BBpress forum area.

ParticipantErm? bbVideo works fine for the stand alone bbPress version (I have it working on my site).
If it’s bbPress 2.0, my post toolbar plugin handles Youtube videos fine.

ParticipantI currently only have three topics so I can follow along… I have made them all favorites… What does that achieve?
Next I clicked subscribe.. What does that do. I tried to see if that was an RSS feed and get all comments funneled to my outlook rss reader.
I thought having all new postings go to my outlook reader would be good… Am I correct or does the subscribe do something else?

InactiveJust below the comment box (or new topic box for that matter), you can check whether you want to receive an email when someone posts a follup-up…
And you can mark topics as favourites, which would be usefull when your forum grows and you want to make sure you don’t miss updates on certain topics.

Participant@Trifon I made the change per your last.. http://jeff-foliage.com/fall-foliage-forum/ and I think your’re correct that this will make it more user friendly… Of course if anyone else has suggestions I will be happy to consider them also…
I had a server issue and the admins were scrambling to try to figure out why is was dog sh*t slow… Well it seems to be back among the living and running nice and fast.. I hope not to many here got fed up with that…
It’s looking good as far as I can tell… Oh! if anyone feels I have earned a +1 on the page, feel free… I’m trying to get some more traffic..
aren’t we all?One thing that might be nice is an email when a post is made so I can follow up.. This won’t be good if the forum got real active but when I only get one a day it would be nice to see new comments…
I’m assuming that new replies is where I should look for comments and if someone posts a new topic it will show up there.. If I had my way though I would want one page that shows both new comments/replies/topics all on one page… This I don’t seem to have with RC1 release… Unless it’s buried somewhere and I haven’t seen it..

ParticipantDoes anyone have some expertise with importing from the stand-alone bbPress? I created another topic a while back with a very detailed account of my failed attempts at importing a somewhat large forum.
https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/bbpress-plugin-20-rc-1-large-forum-import-failure
There haven’t been any responses yet so I’d be grateful for anyone who might have some further ideas to try. I’d be happy to dig in and share my findings with everyone if I can get pointed in the right direction.

InactiveYou can use the Dashboard’s menu’s to see most of that.
If you use the default ordering of topics and posts, combined with the excerpt view, it displays the items by freshness and gives a small preview of all which happens on your forums.
From a UX point of view, I don’t find the page with the forums very user-friendly. I’ve got a pretty high screen resolution, but I have to scroll down to see the forums which I expect to be there.
I’d put the forums on top and the login and such at the bottom. If I want to read, I can go right ahead. If what I read interests me, I’d look for a way to sign in anyway… But the content should come first.
