is there something that i can use so that i can embed soundcloud music… is there a plugin for bbpress that i can embed anything on my bbpress, to make my post like html or something… i need it for my music website. i’m using wordpress, in my normal post i can embed soundcloud but in bbpress i can’t. can someone help me with this problem. thank’s

Pastebin doesn’t look like a viable option as far as actually integrating it. Would require tapping into their api which is a level of programming that is waaay over my head.

An unpleasant, but manageable workaround is to use:

http://centricle.com/tools/html-entities/

to encode the code first, wrap it in code tags and cross your fingers.

Still has issues with quotes and rel=”nofollow”, but going back and editing I managed to get the code to display cleanly how I want it.

Getting users to do this (even if they knew how) will be impossible so ultimately we’ll just have to settle with the “use Pastebin and share the URL” method.

There is https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress-post-toolbar/ – but it’s not so pretty and still has it’s glitchy moments.

Another option I suppose would to get in the code and change it so that the code button inserts textarea tags instead and then just style the hell out of them to look and function like they’re not textareas ;). That could sure confuse users though.

I guess we’ll see what 2.2 brings.

The behavior you are seeing is by design what the ‘bbPress Moderation’ plugin

Or did you install this plugin to try and resolve the issue but with the plugin disabled you are still seeing this behavior?

I would suggest you contact the author of theme also to see when an update will be available as no doubt that would be the best route to take.

Theme is a customized version of PHP-Ease, which uses Blueprint for layout.

The forums page (linked to above) looks fine, but if you click through to those forums or to individual posts, you’ll see that the header changes. Also, the right sidebar is all degraded. The forums themselves take up the whole width of the browser window. The sidebar stuff appears below.

I’ve played with float attributes some, but all those do is alter the width of the table containing the forum materials. The sidebar stuff remains below.

This was not a problem until bbPress 2.1 appeared.

I have a feeling I need to merge style sheets or tell bbPress to use my own stylesheet, but I’m at a loss as to how to do these things. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

By the way: overall, great product. I’m a fan.

I have a website at http://rockwareit.net. I am using CheerApp, which was built to utilize the bbpress forum structure. Everything was fine, until I updated to bbpress, v 2.0, I think – not exactly sure, but it was the update before this last one. Now, with the new version activated, I get a fatal error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function royal_login() in /home/content/31/8787131/html/wp-content/themes/cheerapp/header.php on line 69

I have attempted to remove/edit problematic code on line 69, to no avail.

I also can not seem to find a proper older version of bbpress, all the links to older versions are broken….can someone please help either with a fix to the issue, or an older version of bbpress?

To force bbPress use your template you should name them properly, check bbPress compatible Twenty Ten included in plugin, e.g. archive-forum.php is responsible for forum list/archive.

The download link is for the 2.1 branch. If you follow the link it will take you to the plugin page where you can download 2.1.2. You can also install it directly through WordPress I find much easier.

My forum was fine translated to Danish before updating to the latest version of bbPress, 2.1.2. But now I cannot seem to figure out how to do the translation? Do I have to put the .po file elsewhere?

What is exactly the procedure for uploading and changing the language of bbPress? Different topics say different things.

Now, all my comments end up as replies in a forum topic associated with the blog post they were made in and vice versa. Nice way to get a forum started. Nobody likes to party in an empty room. I had to delete a lot of freshness and voices data because it didn’t look right after my conversion.

A few things. First, this won’t work in bbPress 2. It’s already done for you, and the function names are different. Also, it’s a bad idea to trust any global value to be output directly to the screen, as any plugin can manipulate them directly. You’ll want to wrap that output in an esc_url() call. Lastly, this post is almost 4 years old; bumping it with a simple ‘thanks’ type reeks of being spam.

Closing this so it doesn’t get bumped again, and anyone that finds this should take heed using that code in bbPress or WordPress going forward, as there are more elegant solutions.

When people subscribe to a thread, they won’t get any emails when a new reply is posted. All other wordpress email functions work fine though. The ” Notify me of follow-up replies via email” setting is persistent on however.

Any idea how to debug/fix that?
