    @scmsteve created this issue: https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3218

We’ve resolved it for the 2.6 release. <3

so with wordpress and bbpress installed, you create a forum in the dashboard and then create a page called say ‘forum’ and in the contents put

    [bbp-forum-index]

save this page, publish it, and then view ot and you will see the forum.

    you could also follow this

Before import, make sure bbPress plugin is active. WordPress import is importing only post types registered in the moment of import.

    Hi all,

I have created a backup “export.xml” of my old wordpress site and have gone to imported it onto my new site (the rebuild). When I exported I exported all of my content (including bbpress options).

Nothing relating to bbpress is importing. All my pages, posts, users, etc.. import, but not bbpress.

Any ideas why this might be happening?

    Cheers,
    Chris.

    Hi All,

So, I’m trying to build site using Asphostportal hosting services. I actually have something pretty nice. One of the things I wanted to do was add a forum. Talking with the Asphostportal tech support people, they suggested getting wordpress (hosted through them) and then downloading the bbPress plugin, and easy-as-pie – NOW YOU HAVE A MESSAGE BOARD!

But that’s where they left me.

I’ve been trying for hours to figure out how you go from the dashboard, which is basically a blogger UI, to turning it into a message board. For years, I was an admin for a little board we all ran, but it was a YaBB board and everything I had to do, I did from the admin panel.

Is there a simple way to make this plugin look and behave like a message board?

Please help this poor little sheep.

I seem to have an error with the page previews as you can see over here. As you can see in the first reply in this link, page preview for WP pages works fine, the problem only occurs with BBpress related urls (second post). In the image below I marked it with red:

    page preview error

When I disable the GP Premium plugin the preview dissapears and it only shows the title as an url inside a blockquote. BUT looking at the source code the wrong preview is still there. Changing class wp-embedded-content position: absolute; to position: relative; makes it visable again.

Disabling all plugins, switching to another theme or deleting all custom css is of no influence. WordPress and all plugins are up to date.

    Ahoy,
    I am using

    bbPress 2.5.14-6684
    BuddyPress 3.1.0
    bbp style pack 3.9.6
    WordPress 4.9.8
    running Bento (Child) theme
    on this page bomb.bio/forum

I am having a problem with the insert/edit image button (in the text version the img button) not working. Image links added this way do not display.
Posting the same link without the tag automaticaly added when using this button works fine as long as they are in a new line.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get this to work? Even removing the misleading button or changing the button functionality so it wont add the tag which seems to make the link not work would be better than the current situation.

I can’t code. I am only able to copy paste and to some degree alter code that i am given. I do have a working child theme if that helps.

    Thank you very much!!!
    Tim

bbpress just uses wordpress registration, so this is not really a bbpress issue.

I’d look at what registration plugins you may have running

A quick update – ..this topic ranks in the top positions of Google on these keywords and needs updating.

My suggestion: set up plugin “bbPress Advanced Statistics” https://wordpress.org/plugins/bbpress-improved-statistics-users-online/

and use the shortcode: [bbpas-activity] (you have to enable it first in settings under “extra” tab”

    Sample (latest forum posts): https://www.lustjobs.com/latest-posts-custom-forum-view/

There are 2 bbcodes on this page:
    [bbp-topic-index]
    [bbpas-activity]

as for the default bb code: you have to use use [bbp-stats] not [bbp-statistics]

Can’t find it, maybe it’s pulled from wordpress text domain directly? Maybe code tweaks are needed to translate it separately, could be.

The translations are handled at https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/bbpress/stable/es/default, you should be able to search for the string and suggest a new translation

    Hello everyone.
    Website: Link
    WordPress version: 4.9.8
    bbPress version: 2.5.14

Despite reading many threads about this, I still couldn’t figure out a way to change the language of the forum to hebrew. I will work you through what I did:

    1. Download bbPress.

    2. Add all the pages (login, register etc.) to the menu. (since the website is in hebrew, you can the pages find it under the second last menu item).

    3. Download the hebrew .po and .mo files and put them in the directory /wp-content/languages/bbpress with the proper name (bbpress-he_IL.po and bbpress-he_IL.mo)

    4. Check the websites register and login pages, still in english.

    5. Edit “wp-config.php” file and added “define(‘BBLANG’, ‘bbpress_he_IL’);”.

    6. Check the websites register and login pages, still in english.

    Also things I have tried:
    – Putting the .po and .mo files under /wp-content/languages/plugins/.

    – Made sure I don’t have a translation update under “Dashboard -> Updates” in wordpress.

    Important Note:
The hebrew is not 100% finished, but from this guide I understood that it doesn’t matter as long as I manually override it.

So the bottom line is – I really need help figuring that out. What am I missing?
Thanks for everyone who read and help,
    Eitan.

bbpress just us wordpress login, so the issue is probably outside bbpress.

It could be a theme or plugin issue

    Plugins

Deactivate all and see if this fixes. if it does, start with bbpress and re-enable one at a time to see which is causing the error.

    Themes

If plugins don’t pinpoint the problem, as a test switch to a default theme such as twentyfifteen, and see if this fixes.

    Then come back

that is the definitive way, but you could start with any plugins that relate to logging in if you have any.

    Topic: MOVE A FORUM

    in forum Troubleshooting
    planeo8

Running WP 4.9.8 and bbPress 2.5.14

    Site URL is https://forum.bcyc.org/

I would like to move the only bbPress forum at this URL to another WordPress site (different domain – different URL).

I don’t see an export/import feature in bbPress

Can this be done? If so, please advise on how.

    Thanks.
