Is Human Test plugin compitable with BBPress 1.02?
Is it one of those hard “write in this word” type of things? Those are impossible to read!
I don’t see screenshots anywhere. I don’t want registration to be even harder.
Sounds like it!!
Try this plugin by ck… it really helps cut down on spambot registrations:

I’ve recently done a fresh wp & bb integration install.
I’m using my own theme for bbpress, I was testing creating a sticky post, but when i click on any of the admin links: Delete entire topic – Close topic – Stick topic (to front) it just sends me back to the forum.php page, and nothing happens.
Has anyone had this happen to them? Any fixes or work arounds?
added: updating the password does not work as well, in the profile edit page.
I have the same problem. I am installing on my own machine using the latest version of both bbpress and xampp (php5.x). I completed installation (with errors) and then when I log in with the master-key user I get a white page with these errors:

I remember some years ago (probably I was one of the first who tried to integrate bbPress with WordPress in a different language, fully localized integration [1]), and it was a pain. Now, years passed, I can see bbPress and WordPress rising and shining, but I wouldn’t pay anymore so much attention into their integration.
The main problem I/folks met when choosing between BB software and taking bbPress as a possible solution, is it’s lack of real BB features, like already mentioned quoting, nice fluid design themes… classic stuff which makes a forum software look accordingly.
I do respect the WordPress choices when it comes to design (including software designs and tehnologies), but if you want bbPress get over FluxBB (ex PunBB, which was sold and it is it’s main competitor), forget about Joel Spolsky’s thoughts, people are looking for something they got used to already. Bring options to core and hide them under checkboxes, but don’t apart them in plugins (at least until bbPress has no such plugin installer like WordPress has).
Dunno why, but bbPress still looks much like it was first time released by Matt after a weekend of smart coding. Time to grow up a bit.
Just my 2 cents…
I’m having the same problem as Croyd, plus as CitizenKeith says, there is no longer a specific ‘WordPress Integration’ plugin with the latest version of bbPress.
Any ideas anyone?

\Edit – I came across a fix that works for me (http://bestservedcold.com/news/bbpress-and-wordpress-magic-quotes/comment-page-1). I also have both WP & bbPress integrated, and I commented out the line $_POST = add_magic_quotes($_POST); in wp-settings.php in my WordPress installation. I tried a test post in the forum and one on the blog and they both worked fine.
$out = preg_replace( '|/!]*?[^[*?]|si', '', $out );
That should take bbCode out, put it after $out = strip_tags( $out );
. Not tested it, but it’s adapted from a function I found on Google
http://test2.cell-systems.net/forums/topic/testing-forum-software/page/3
I’m running a custom Editor on my test site and will move it to my normal site this weekend
works wonders
I want to limit the number of conversations/discussions that show on the front page under Latest Discussions > Topic. I found a plugin that might have helped but I can’t log into the admin panel (/forum/bb-admin redirects me to /forum).
The plugin is http://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/front-page-topics/
But is there a way to manually edit a bbPress file to change this setting? Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
I’m having the exact same problem. Akismet blocked a lot of replies, which I had to manually search hard in the database to put it back. But via the interface, it shows a nice chart, but no where, where you can see, which posts, topics or user accounts it has blocked.
Last night me and a user, who was blocked, after doing a lot of testing at 2 a.m. discovered that his posts are not appearing in some topics.
I prefer to have Akismet, but I also prefer to see in the backend if posts are being marked as spam, which posts exactly. Just like in WordPress.
Ah ok.
1) Your first step is going to be to get all of the installs to use the same users table. Technically, you’ll want to follow steps similar to the ones described here:
https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/successful-reverse-integration-steps
However, your job will be greatly complicated by the fact that each install will have overlaps in terms of userid and usernames. For example, userid #5 on bbPress install #1 is going to refer to a different user than userid#5 on bbPress install#2. You’re going to have to address that – this link will help greatly:
https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/integration-of-established-wp-and-bbpress-installations
2) Phew, it’s good that they’re all in the same database… hopefully your WordPress install is also in the same database. This will simplify things a bit.
3) Ok, good to know.
I can’t offer custom help – I’m just a volunteer! But I’m glad to try and help you here, so others can learn from the discussion…
Here’s what I would recommend:
1) Your first step would be to backup all of your data.
2) Then, I’d setup a test environment exactly like your current environment and put your data there. That way, you can work on the integration with much less stress.
3) Then I would figure out how to deal with the userid and username overlap described above. This will probably be the hardest part!
4 ) Once you’ve figured that out, you’re all set to integrate all the installs to use the same usertable.
5) Finally once that’s done, you can also integrate the cookies so users only have to signin once!
If this sounds waaay too hard, you may want to hire a consultant or expert to help ya out! Here’s a list of people who are available:

ok well basically i have a news website. and I put on new news on the website constantly. The latest 6 posts are displayed on the index as hot news. however I also want to display the anoth 10 more posts on another secton on the homepage but this time not showing the latest 6 posts but starting from the last 7.
so it would show from the latest post 7 to 17 and exclude the latest posts from 1-6.
Thanks for replying by the way
still the same verdict… gah
Take out the whitespace from the plugin PHP file(s), and try again?
so is there any way to stop a forum from reaching the latest discussion without any problems?
The Warning message is because forwards depend on sending headers. Different headers are sent automatically however if there’s any text returned by a PHP file that’s loaded, which is a common problem created by whitespace around the <?php ?>
tags. If text headers are sent, you can’t send a redirect header, thus the warning and the breaking of redirects.
I have no idea, it is quite confusing to me seems it screws up any kind of forward (even those that have nothing to do with posting, plugin deactivate, edit/change appearance, logout, etc).
Might it have somthing to do with this part of the plugin:
{ $where.=” AND forum_id != “.$forum.” “; }}
return $where;
because it does not seem to be working, does this need to be changed to something else in order to function in 1.0.2?
You can see for yourself what happens by registering:

Starting to bug me a bit, nothing I try solves the issue.
Nevermind… I figured that part out.
@HSeatSleeper: Can you talk a little bit more about the special care you gave to the admin account? When testing, I got locked out of my blog as well, and couldn’t figure out why (my wp_1_capabilities were set correctly, as was user_level).
Can you easily list the steps you took to secure the admin account? Thanks!
What is the plugin supposed to do with regard to those things? I thought the plugin just excluded replies from certain forums from the list of latest discussions. I didn’t know it was related to redirection or forwarding.
Alright I have my site at pickledpc.com and the forums at pickledpc.com/forums/
I’m trying to apply my wordpress theme to the forums to make it all look the same. I haven’t the slightest idea of where to start. I have tinkered with the style.css but can’t get anywhere. Any pointers? A good place to start?
Thanks
I am interested to display my forum categories at the top of my forums rather than the latest discussions. Is this possible?
In CSS I use /*………*/ for a few lines of code or ……..// for just a line so that code is skipped or avoided. Will this work in a .php file also? I would like to skip code to test it out without deleting the original code. Just want to mask the original code so I can go back to it if I make a mistake.
Thank you.
