I’m having trouble getting shortcodes for a picture gallery to work in topics. Did some looking around here and it seems I may need a shortcode plug in and also possibly a shortcode whitelist plugin to go with it. I looked at this one bbPress2 shortcode whitelist, but it is a bit old and hasn’t been tested with 5.5.1. I’m running 7.4.10 PHP, LiteSpeed webserver, 2.6.5 bbpress.
The shortcode for a photo gallery shows up in the post as text but that is all. https://transmissiontuner.com/blog/forums/topic/allison-bellhousing-types/
I asked for support on this from the photogallery plugin and they said it was a bbpress problem.
thanks!
um…that’s what shortcodes are for ???
if you just want the shortcode displayed without bbpress interpreting it, then use the ‘code’
eg
[model_viewer ID'...']
First open this URL to bypass the “coming soon”: https://www.defensivebjj.com/?bypass=turtlez
Then here is a page that should display the topics index: https://www.defensivebjj.com/members-forum-test/
These are the shortcodes I am trying (both bbstyle pack and bbpress)
[bsp-display-topic-index show=”20″ forum =”611″ search=”no” breadcrumb=”no”]
[bbp-single-forum id="611"]
no, the main forum page would not list the topics for a forum. If you only have one forum, then you can use shortcodes to display just that forum, and your forum will then be a list of topics.
Guest can’t use editor to reply or create topic correctly ? When the guest use editor to justify text or etc, after submitting, codes appears without doing their functions.
Something like this:
For information. Solution Found = Tag Groups Plugin
You can create several general pages(shortcodes, widjets…) with different profiles and group to one taxonomy bbpress, blogs, woocommerc… according to many characteristics.
A boatload unfortunately.

Yes, thank you a simple theme to demonstrate will be fine. I’m not too sure how to use hooks and I get very confused with how to use short codes and php together.
No code that can I put inside code snippet and insert shortcodes in functions.php?
Thank you!
Hello,
I want to ask about topic tags, is there any shortcode to display topic tags count? because when I put [bbp-topic-tags] shortcodes, the shortcodes only displaying name of topic tags and if topic tags popular, the topic tags name more larger.
I want to be like this:
topic tag1 (5)
topic tag2 (1)
topic tag3 (4)
and so on.
Is there any ideas?
Thank You.

Please advise.
Thanks.
I think that add-on is just for to enable you to more easily add bbp shortcodes rather than any sort of compatibility. I just don’t understand why, when it’s using the same template as other pages, it breaks the footer display..
hmmm….not sure what to suggest next
sort of looks like wp-bakery want you to buy an add-on for bbpress shortcodes
bbPress Shortcodes
Hi
I have a transparent header built with Astra theme and Elementor page builder. I am also using BuddyPress on my site.
I would like to change all the bbpress forum pages header to a different background color, none white, so the header menu can display properly.
What css codes should i use?
Bbpre Version 2.6.5 on latest WordPress installation
Thank you
ok, thanks, but sorry I can’t really help further.
I will state again that WordPress handles both registration and login, and as long as you don’t use the login widgets or shortcodes then bbpress should not be involved.
I hope you get a resolution
bbpress just uses WordPress registration and login.
bbpress then just assigns the default role on first login that is set in Dashboard>settings>forum>roles if you have that ticked, or you can manually assign if you wish.
Therefore you can ignore anything bbpressy on registration and login, and just use anything that WordPress does instead.
This gives you the ability to utilise plugins such as ‘theme my login’ to give yourself a nice registration and login (there are plenty of other good login plugins, just search around).
It looks like you have already changed the default wp urls – which is great and good security practise, so suggest you just don’t use bbpress login shortcodes or widgets, and let wordpress do your registration and login.
Do come back if you need further help
Hello,
Here is the root page where is possible to try:
https://www.eyecadvr.com/home-community/
this page is under elementor and with shortcodes it should display 5 forum roots but instead it displays just 1. As you can see at the right side is empty but before there was “Latest Posts” and “Thread Tag Cloud”.
By clicking on that first forum root folder, it will redirect to another page that is completely without CSS and without other functions; But once inside, clicking on the sub folder it will redirect in the right page where everything becomes perfect and correct as it should be in every page.
Hope that these informations can help you in order to help us.
Thanks.
you can use these shortcodes in a page
[bbp-topic-form] – Display the ‘New Topic’ form where you can choose from a drop down menu the forum that this topic is to be associated with.
[bbp-topic-form forum_id=$forum_id] – Display the ‘New Topic Form’ for a specific forum ID.
1. There is the only a widget. But, there is some plugin that can turn widget content into the shortcode, you should check that. I might add shortcodes in the future.
2. No, the widgets don’t use AJAX to refresh content. I don’t see any benefit in that really, because users rarely sit on one forum page for a long time to even notice changes in such a widget. If the forum content is loaded fully using AJAX, that would be a different case, but bbPress doesn’t support something like that right now.
Hi,
I want to insert a form (with three questions, for example ‘How much free time do you have? How do you spend your free time? What games do you like?’) on one page of my website and have a plugin to create one page linking the let say 20 most recent answers, so that visitors can read the most recent answers given by every other visitor.
Do you have any suggestion on how to do it or plugins to suggest?
I tried with BBpress shortcodes, but for there are no shortcodes allowing to collect at once and publish answers to different questions. A solution could be to post all the questions together as the first post of a new topic, and ask visitors to annswer, but there is no a short code such as [bbp-reply-form id=223] allowing visitors to post replies to this, without them needing to see or visit the forum (see discussion at https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/using-shortcode-bbp-reply-form-to-specific-topic/)
My website https://www.orientamento.it/, I am using Twenty seventeen and BBpress 2.6.5.
Thanks in advance for your help
I keep coming back to this in my search to find a shortcode to display the same content (like the avatar, profile link, etc.) as the widget titled (bbPress) Login Widget.
Unfortunately, none of these account-related shortcodes from https://codex.bbpress.org/shortcodes/
[bbp-login] – Display the login screen.
[bbp-register] – Display the register screen.
[bbp-lost-pass] – Display the lost password screen.
show the same content as the widget, especially for a logged in user. There doesn’t seem to be a shortcode, so instead, I’m using this successfully.
if (class_exists('BBP_Login_Widget')) {
the_widget('BBP_Login_Widget');
}
Hello,
I’m looking for the same customization as @spicynodes 8 years ago !
I have created a page with 2 shortcodes :
[bbp-topic-index]
[bbp-topic-form]
But the breadcrumb displays twice, above each one.
Is there a simple way to display it for the [bbp-topic-form] or do I necessarily need to do something in the function page (I’d prefer not too !)
Thanks for your help !
After having disabled the ”bbPress Do Shortcodes” plugin I am seeing that shortcodes are now actually being interpreted in Topics without the plugin. I’m guessing that came with the recent updates to bbPress? I am seeing however that when using double brackets, which usually escapes shortcodes so that they’re not interpreted, they still seem to be partially interpreted in bbPress topics creating an error. If I use html entities instead of double brackets I am able to post a shortcode literally without it being interpreted.
I can confirm that the problem is in bbpress do shortcodes, I will leave it deactivated for the time being and will open a ticket on the plugin support forum.
