Just started using bbpress — same issue here: in profile topics and replies not showing – list is just a big blank page.
Firefox 19.0.2
WordPress 3.5.1.
Theme Twenty Twelve
This issue was first reported over 4 months ago???
Look like it could use some attention đ
No we are all good… I removed the stuff regarding the links as this is working correctly.
Try creating a new WordPress page and add the bbPress shortcode [bbp-forum-index] to the page.
I have not tried this plugin and it hasn’t been updated in a while but it states it supports the bbPress plugin https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-html-sitemap/
That seemed to have worked ok, I no longer get the .htaccess error.
That will indeed help now that you have a .htaccess file for permalinks and the most common permalink format is ‘Post name’ which it appears you are now using.
Also, when I create a page and add the shortcode to it, it creates the tab for me, but it links to /forum-2, not forums. If I change the permalink, it just changes it back.
Make sure you don’t have a deleted page named ‘forums’ in your trash.
Also, when I view the forum via the âViewâ link in Dashboard>Forums it takes me to /forums/forum/general-discussion/, not forums/generaldiscussion.
WordPress removes any ‘whitespace’ from the names and replaces them with a hyphen, URL’s may not contain spaces.
You would need to find a WordPress plugin that includes avatar support for bbPress
@palmdoc You can could create a new WordPress page and add the [bbp-topic-index] shortcode to it.
There are a few that support bbPress, just add ‘bbPress’ to your search criteria at https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/
@palmdoc I would suggest you ask that same question in their support forums https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/gd-bbpress-tools
Try all the things you above using the Twenty Eleven theme included with bbPress…
Once you are happy that you have everything working with the Twenty Eleven theme as you expect it should then switch back to your custom theme and if needed contact the theme author asking why the theme doesn’t support xyz…
I have tried http://vegansociety.co.il/forums and I see the error but I also see your current menu item ‘forums’ links to here.
I am not sure how the Hebrew in the URL’s works in regards to WordPress & bbPress as I personally have not gone done this path before.
What happens if you create a new WordPress page and add the bbPress shortcode [bbp-forum-index]
Also apologies, your post had been marked as spam for the past week :/
Currently this is not possible but it is a great idea that maybe one of the “bbPress Unread Posts’ plugins could add this functionality.
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress-unread-posts/
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress-mark-as-read/
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress-pencil-unread/
Note: Apologies, your post had been marked as spam for the past month :/
Thanks dear Stephen. It’s my pleasure to translate such wonderful plugin.
I tried https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/ but it didn’t work. Here’s my post permalink:

Is it possible to link a bbPress category forum to a BuddyPress group?
I want to use the better organisation available with the sitewide forum structure of:
– category
– – subforum
– – subforum
– – subforum
– – etc
I’ve tried creating a category with the same name as a group, adding sub-forums to the category and then run Tools -> Forums -> Repair -> Repair BuddyPress Group Forum relationships, but it doesn’t link it to the group.
Thank you!!

What is in your wp-config?
In wp-config I’ve set the same language as I’m trying to get bbPress in, nb_NO
The Norwegian WordPress forums doesn’t help much in this problem I’m sorry, some of them had the same problem before but they never came up with a solution. Also, the posts is old, and it seems a lot of directories has changed since then.
HmmmâŚ. Looking at https://codex.bbpress.org/bbpress-in-your-language/
Takes me here âŚhttps://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language#Bokm.C3.A5l_.28nb_NO.29
Now I presume we should be using nb_NO thus bbpress-nb_NO.po & bbpress-nb_NO.mo
Try uploading the files names above to /wp-content/languages/bbpress/ and ensure as per your example above that the bbpress folder is not spelled with a capital P (i.e. NOT bbPress, just bbpress)
Yeah the folder name for bbpress had a capital, I changed it but it made no difference.
Hmmm…. Looking at https://codex.bbpress.org/bbpress-in-your-language/
Takes me here …https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language#Bokm.C3.A5l_.28nb_NO.29
Now I presume we should be using `nb_NO` thus `bbpress-nb_NO.po` & `bbpress-nb_NO.mo`
Try uploading the files names above to `/wp-content/languages/bbpress/` and ensure as per your example above that the bbpress folder is not spelled with a capital P (i.e. NOT bbPress, just bbpress)
Hi, I’ve searched around the web for some hours now and hopefully I’ll get the correct answer from you.
I need to translate the plugin bbPress into Norwegian, I’ve fetched the translation from http://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/dev/nb/default and made sure every string is there with the .po editing software Poedit. I’ve downloaded both .po and .mo file for the Norwegian translation.
Norwegian is activated generally as WordPress language already.
So the problem is the localization and naming of the files, I’ve tried different directories and names:
wp-content/languages/bbpress-nb_NO.po and .mo
wp-content/languages/bbpress-nb.po and .mo
wp-content/languages/bbPress/bbpress-nb_NO.po and .mo
wp-content/languages/bbPress/bbpress-nb.po and .mo
wp-content/plugins/bbPress/languages/bbpress-nb_NO.po and .mo
wp-content/plugins/bbPress/languages/bbpress-nb.po and .mo
wp-content/plugins/bbPress/languages/bbpress-langauge-nb_NO.po and .mo
wp-content/plugins/bbPress/languages/bbpress-langauge-nb.po and .mo
wp-content/plugins/bbPress/languages/bbpress-plugin-nb.po and .mo
wp-content/plugins/bbPress/languages/bbpress-plugin-nb_NO.po and .mo
None of them seems to work, what is the correct localization and naming?
In the next release of bbPress version 2.3 users can link to images by default but to actually upload images you will need to install a plugin to support this. I know of one plugin that does this but there maybe more… https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/
My site is, http://www.forgreenpeas.com.
And here’s my setup…
Wordpress: 3.5.1
Theme: TwentyTwelve
Buddypress: 1.7
bbPress: 2.2.4
I’ve done a clean install of everything. (via FTP)
I’ve created a forum with one topic.
When I go to the forums index page, all I see is…
“Index of /forums”
I’ve tried creating a “Forums” page (with the shortcode [bbp-forum-index]), but I always get the same result when I go to that page.
Another thing to note is that the individual forums show up fine, as you can see here…
http://www.forgreenpeas.com/forums/forum/group-forums/
Also, I’ve looked in the database, and was unable to find any tables with the prefix “wp_bb”.
I can’t help but think I’m doing something seriously wrong here.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Todd
I have not tried an install/migration of a bbPress 1.1 site that use or nor have I used the ‘bbPress Integration Plugin’
With that plugin are the users stored in the WordPress `wp_users` table or bbPress’ `bb_users` table?
In theory if the users are stored in WordPress’ user table you should not need to import the users and if the users are stored in bbPress’ users table you should import the users.
Your best option will be to post the same as above on https://make.wordpress.org/polyglots/
They will setup the correct entries for uploading your Persian translations to GlotPress https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/dev
Make sure you include the language locale eg. ‘fa’ Persian or ‘fa-af’ Persian (Afghanistan)
I am pretty sure there are a couple of WordPress Sitemap plugins that support bbPress.
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/
It looks like the issue can be created by:
1. Converting my vbulletin database to bbpress
2. Turning on buddypress
3. Make a new parent forum for the groups. ( Usually called it “The Nation”)
4. Select group forums to be placed in “The Nationâ in the buddypress options
5. Create 2 groups.
6. Move/create topic in each group.
You will see each group will share the same topics. If I make a new group, that group will have all the topics of the previous groups.
Itâs not duplicating the topics, but rather the group forums just contain every thread from other group forums.
BBpress 2.3-rc1
Buddypress 2.7 beta 2
Wordpress 3.5.1
Multi site
I have a snitz forum on an access database, which I am trying to import into BBpress. (basically I am taking over an old website and redoing it in wordpress)
Wordpress is 3.5.1 and BBpress 2.2.4
site is http://www.gospbc.co.uk)
I have tailored the example convertor and saved it as smitz.php in the right folder (it is coming up on the list)
q1 where in my my site do I put the .mdb that I have. I have tried the root but the import doesn’t seem to find a database,
q2 in the import what do I answer to
database server -do i leave as localhost or do I need to put a directory path in?
database name : do i put xx.mdb or just xx?
Database user and password – the access database has no username or password – do i just leave these fields blank?
At the moment all I get is :
Conversion Complete
No replies to convert
No tags to convert
No topics to convert
No forum parents to convert
No forums to convert
Starting Conversion
so it can’t be finding the database
Any ideas to progress please?
