Hello 🙂
I want to give forum groups certain post and comment restrictions while visitors (not logged in or subscribed) can still see these parts of the forum. It seems impossible to do so, as I can only turn on restrictions for forum groups but then loose the visibility for visitors and visa versa.
The lowest rank are Subscribers, which means from what I understood that this group has to attempt to sign up but not confirm their e-mail or be subscribed, which is not what I want my visitors to do just to see the forum.
Example of what I want to achieve:
Forum 1
Viability: Everyone.
Start topic: Members.
Comment: Members.
Thanks for the help!

Hello,
When any user posts in any forum the following error messages appear, however the message DOES actually post. Anyone know what is causing this problem? and how to fix it. I am not a programmer so the code does not mean much to me

Hi,
Hoping someone can help. I want a private forum which only logged in users can access. I have also installed bbpress private groups to set up groups of users for particular forums.
The forums have been set to private and the groups plugin has allowed me to create groups and manage access to forums based on these groups.
What is concerning however is that google is returning search replies of the url:
www.mysite/forums/user/useremailaddress/
I can then access their profile; topics; replies and favorites…
This is a HUGE problem for my users.
How do i go about restricting this as I have obviously incorrectly assumed this would be covered with the steps I have already taken
Many thanks.

He is one for you!
I run 4 forums and I have just reinstalled it on a site that have been previously running BBPress
I have installed and reset the forum to new, when I go to forum that is displaying 2 search forms instead of just the one! and also when you post it display’s
Favorite | Subscribe
Favorite | Subscribe
TWICE AS WELL
I know how to turn the search feature off and when I do both of them disappear however I would only want to display the one what has happened?
Search the Forum…

I am after the ability to let guests post in my forum.
So I turned on Guest posting.
However there is a problem with that.
In order to post as a guest you need to enter an e-mail.
If a guest enters an e-mail of a registered user it pulls across their avatar and makes it look like the registered user is posting.
Test/Sample here>> http://www.thewargameswebsite.com/forums/topic/testy-guest-topic/#post-50125
I have since turned off the guest posting function as this avatar issue is a problem.
Is there a way to disable the guest field that requires an e-mail address and just let guests post by adding a name?

Hello, I have noticed a glitch on my forum index. Basically, the freshness for my forums “Introductions” and “Homework Help” are wrong. For the Introductions forum, the freshness is from over 1 week ago, which is incorrect. Furthermore, in the Homework Help forum, the freshness weirdly states “No Topics.” Btw, I have already tried going through the repair tool for the forums chronologically, but that didn’t fix the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
David
I am currently running the latest stable version of bbpress, and my website is at purposeshare.com/forums

Hi there,
We’re having quite a few issues with bbPress we’re hoping someone here can help us solve. We’ve mined the forums ourselves and tried a number of fixes and plugins to no avail. We’re working with WordPress 4.6.1 and bbPress 2.5.10. Unfortunately I can’t share a link to the forum (it’s available by login only). Any and all thoughts or suggestions are welcome!
The main features we are having trouble with include:
1) getting the subscribe/notifications settings to work (this has been the biggest headache, we have installed the Postmark and AsynCRONous bbPress Subscriptions plugins and neither have helped)
2) having the ability to keep selected posts at the top of the discussion threads (the Sticky pr “pin to top” function)
3) Allowing formatting on the images that are posted in the forum
4) Sending private messages through the forum
5) Having a search function within the forum
Can anyone suggest some good resources for us to figure out how to best install these features?
Thanks so much! I really appreciate your help.
Best,
Trish

Is it possible to install bbPress on a separate WordPress either in sub-domain or sub-directory of the main domain provided that both sites can be accessible with a single login?
Published on October 7th, 2016 by DoNotIgnoreUs
My project involves using WordPress Multisite for 10, possibly more, sites in subdirectories using the same host.
The domain is the umbrella for the organization with each site being a division of the organization each containing multiple Categories, Subcategories, Sub-sub-categories, Topics, Subtopics etc etc sharing a common userbase for single login.
What I need is to have each division/site to have it’s own BBpress forum each containing multiple Categories, Subcategories, Sub-sub-categories, Forums, Sub-forums Topics, Subtopics etc etc sharing a common userbase for single login.
Is this possible to do with BBpress?
All suggestions appreciated.

I’m trying to use this shortcode and it’s not working. I saw this issue was reported several times by the past and it seemed to be resolved but it’s still not working for me.
I think this was the original ticket: https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/1948
I want to achieve the same comportment – get a list of topics classified under a specific topic tag. Is there a way I can get the shortcode to work OR could you help me code a workaround?
Thanks in advance!
