Shortcode Implementation Problem and Sidebar

Published on December 28th, 2013 by Aqeart

I’ve been using WordPress for a long time but I’m new to bbpress. I’m trying to figure how to add sidebar to my forum so that users can login or check out the latest posts from the forum. Hence I’ve decided to create a page with -forum slug so It won’t overlap default -forums slug of bbpress. I added the shortcode

to that page and edited. Everything was working fine until I clicked on any of the forums I created. It redirected me to a page with -forums slug and breadcrumbs was on the same direction, as if shortcode was just a decoy. Unfortunately, I wasn’t very successful at altering bbpress files as I wanted. My question is about those slugs. Is there any way to override bbpress’ own page system and force it to use the page I inserted the forum code.

Thank you

"link" button

Published on December 28th, 2013 by Mantzer

I’m using WP 3.3.2 and bbPress 2.2.3.
I’m having the problem that the “link” button is not working when posting a new topic or reply.
Instead the screen is partially blacked out and increases in “blackness” when pressing the button more often.
Everything else is working great. Any help highly appreciated.
Thanks

**HELP** — Class 'WP_Post' not found

Published on December 28th, 2013 by pandagasm

Hi Guys,

I am running on a clean install of WordPress 3.4.2, and am trying to use the BBPress forum plugin (version 2.5.2). However when trying to load the forum page from my site I get the following error.

Fatal error: Class ‘WP_Post’ not found in /home/content/44/10795544/html/wp-content/plugins/bbpress/includes/core/theme-compat.php on line 375

I have spent ages googling, searching this forum, but I cant find any answer that help me.

Please can someone tell me how I can fix this error? It is preventing me from using BBpress.

Thanks
Panda

bbPress outside WordPress directory

Published on December 27th, 2013 by spwestwood

Hi,
I currently have a WordPress installation at website.com/blog/, and a bbPress forum at website.com/blog/forum. Ideally I’d like to have the forum at website.com/forum. Is this possible? I’ve tried a few different rewrites in my Apache site configuration but haven’t managed to get it working.

Best regards,
Sam

Subscribe cancelled by Notify

Published on December 26th, 2013 by kiwi3685

At the top of each topic I have a “subscribe” link. Clicking it subscribes me to the topic so I get emails when new posts are added.

At the bottom of each topic, with the “Reply” option is another link “Notify me of follow-up replies via email”.

I have found that when I am subscribed to a topic, if I reply and do not tick “Notify me of follow-up replies via email”, then my subscription to that topic is cancelled (top link changes to ‘unsubscribed’, and future responses are not notified to me by email.

Surely this isn’t the intended result? Are the two options actually necessary?

Adding Forum Icons to bbPress

Published on December 26th, 2013 by WPDragon

Hii…I have read some posts regarding this, however I seem to get an error message when I attempt to upload an image. (An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.)

I am trying to add a Forum ICON to bbPress…I came across this article (http://www.kristarella.com/2013/04/bbpress-forum-icons/) — and it seems to work in the sense that it adds the option to include a “feature image” to my forum pages…however, when I attempt to upload an image I get an upload error each time.

Is anyone familar with adding a Forum ICON to bbPress??…any kind of help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Import bbPress 2.5.1 Forum Into bbPress 2.5.1

Published on December 26th, 2013 by Matoca

I want to export a bbPress 2.5.1 forum from one WP installation to another WP installation on the same server into a currently installed bbPress 2.5.1 empty forum.

When I look at the import tools, I see that there is no selection for bbPress 2.5.1!

I am at a loss how to accomplish this, can anyone provide some help?
Thank you, Matoca
