I went to : http://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/plugin
Lots of language translation files are available and I was able to download them successfully.
Unfortunately for some languages, the current validators are not validating anything, leaving bbpress dead for these languages.
The bad thing is that there is no way to download older versions of the translation files, which could still work for 90% of the strings.

Please correct me if i’m wrong.

A solution would be to have a separate store on bbpress.org where the latest validated translation files are available. Even outdated translations would be better than nothing.

The situation is pretty bad, for example at the moment we can’t have a forum in the french language.

I started to write some doc’s but like you got confused pretty quickly with all the different info available. Did you see the 2.1 install info here?

Hello.

My forum was fine translated to Danish before updating to the latest version of bbPress, 2.1.2. But now I cannot seem to figure out how to do the translation? Do I have to put the .po file elsewhere?

What is exactly the procedure for uploading and changing the language of bbPress? Different topics say different things.

problem 2 was solved by adding

#bbpress-forums div.reply {
height: auto;}

however the other problem is still not solved and I believe the style.css is missing files.

Also as a bonus could anyone give me a code that could work for changing the background of the forum colour?

Currently there are no Persian (fa) Translations for bbPress

It would be great if you could help translate bbPress into Persian, contact the Persian (fa) translations team to get it setup.

Please see this post How do I change the language? (We will add this to the docs in the near future.)

That post has instructions for Spanish, its the same process except you substitute ES (Spanish) for AR (Arabic) where applicable, it’s an identical process for bbPress as it is for WordPress itself.

The .pot file needs to be updated. I’ll make sure it’s done in 2.1 by the time it’s released.

I’ve noticed that the phrase “Topic Description:” is not present in the list at http://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/plugin/nl/default

It is properly localised in the template files (line 82 in form-topic.php) so that’s not the issue.

I would like my bbpress plugin in Norwegian. I have followed instructions found on the forum and created the folder wp-content/languages/bbpress, where I’ve put the files bbpress-nb_NO.po and bbpress-nb_NO.mo. In the wp-config file the locale is set to nb_NO.

In the plugin’s bbp-languages folder, there is now only the bbpress.pot file and the index.php.

I can’t see where I’ve gone wrong. Please help!

Sorry, actually, I can’t be sure that the stuff I see on Dykarna’s site is coming from a WP Swedish translation file…it could just be the text entered. I take back my previous comment.

Dykarna’s WP site seems to be in Swedish, so I’m guessing WP core is able to find the translations…

Do you also have the WordPress translation files where they belong? If WordPress core cannot find its translations, it will revert back to English. If that’s the problem, it’s possible you’ve had bbPress’s in the correct locations already, and WordPress was nooping it.
