Congrats, the site looks good and looks like you finished the bbPress Arabic translations 🙂
The instructions are here: https://codex.bbpress.org/bbpress-in-your-language/
That said I cannot see any Greek (el) translations for bbPress in GlotPress for the 2.2 or 2.3(dev) branches of bbPress https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress
I suggest you try asking some of the Greek WordPress communities listed here:
https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language#Greek_.28el.29
In particular on their forum http://wpmania.gr/forum/
(You could also ask when they are planning on switching to bbPress ;))
Have you uploaded the Greek files? could you send me a link to the files?
thanks
Hello,
I have problem. I download polish language for BBpress (pl_PL.mo). Where I must put this file and where I can change language from english to polish?
I make this scenarios:
– upload .mo file to wp-content/language/bbpress – not working
– upload .mo file to wp-content/plugins/bbpress/language – not working
Can someone help me ?
My problem is that the entire sentence is translated ok the only word that is still in english is ‘days’ or ‘day’ and I don’t know from what file or how to translate it.
Does it have to do with date/time formatting ?
Please help
Hey all
I’m running bbpress with wordpress, WPML, buddypress and the buddybosstheme. I have three fora with three subfora each, two fora and their subfora are translations of the default EN fora and subfora respectively.
When I want to create a new topic in NL or FR, these are posted under the default langguage and do not show up in the list of topics of the subforum.
Changing the language in the backend to the correct one does make them show up. If you view a topic you can’t see the actual content.
Same thing for replies. Replies don’t show up, even if you change the language.
Could anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance
Pieter
The way the post type are setup make them not ready for translations array in array are the main problem.
For info bbpress v 2.2.4, translation files in my wp-content/languages/bbpress/bbpress-fr_FR.mo
All the others strings are getting translated 😉
I bet there are quite many here that would like a translation for their bbPress, but the translation files are not complete. Why don’t you help a little? There are quite a lot to translate (almost 1000 sentences), but if we all contribute it will not take that long. Go to http://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/2.2.x and help to complete the translation into your language!
hello
Here I start and I installed the latest version bbPress.

Thanks for this, it would be great if these could be added here:

If you are interested in doing this post a message on the Polyglots blog here:

Yet another one here:
https://github.com/kiang/bbpress_zh_TW
Currently for bbpress 2.2.3. Not completed.
It appears that bbPress Sweedish translations are a bit all over the place:
bbPress Dev – 87% Complete https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/dev/sv/default
bbPress 2.2x – 0% Complete https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/2.2.x/sv/default
Also WP Sweeden had previously operated there own translations here
bbPress 2.1 http://wpsv.se/oversattning/projects/bbpress/21
bbPress 2.0 http://wpsv.se/oversattning/projects/bbpress/20
I think the best idea would be to contact WP Sweeden and ask about bbPress translations

Hello Stephen,
Thanks for the update.
I’m working on completing the translation. I asked Yousef to send me the translation in order to test it. Usually I make sure that the translation is very accurate so I do not want to rely on translations that I haven’t checked it.
This is now fixed in /trunk/ and will be in the next release of bbPress, I also confirmed it in ticket #2138 (see the screenshot here)
@Rasheed I also recommended @Yousef-Matios post on the Polyglots blog here. regarding the Arabic translation of bbPress which he has and is more than willing to share. Can you also reply to that thread and update Yousef on how he can best help get the remaining Arabic translations needed at https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/dev/ar/default
See this thread here and contact @yousef-matios as he is more than willing to share the Arabic translation he has for bbPress.
You can also use https://codex.bbpress.org/bbp_show_lead_topic/ as used here on bbpress.org to use a different template for the ‘lead topic’.
An alternative to your str_replace method is to make your own language translation. https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/extending-buddypress/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/
Hi, I want to replace the admin menu “Forums” to a Japanese expression.
I have found in bbpress.php that labels including “Forums” is replaced with the function ‘__’
but somehow it is not working. The menu remains in English.
I created bbpress-ja.mo from bbpress.pot, and placed the file in the language folder.
It is including “Forums” and its translation.
Any help or suggestions?
BTW, the translation for user pages (“Voices””Posts” etc.) and
for admin settings (messages in includes/admin/settings.php) is working.
Troubles only with bbpress.php.
WordPress: 3.5
bbPress: 2.2.3
Theme: skeleton
Same problem here. Some strings like Forums, Topics an Replies in admin menu, create topic/forum/reply, Forums page in the frontend and some others dont get translated.
Hello Again,
I am still waiting for a response. There is a problem in Translation file.
For example, here is a permalink for a string “Edit Forum”:
https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/dev/ar/default?filters%5Bstatus%5D=either&filters%5Boriginal_id%5D=19786&filters%5Btranslation_id%5D=2008090
The string is translated but for some reason at my forums string it still appears in English.
I also want to mention that some of the strings displayed properly at my forums with it’s translation, but some strings still appear in English.
Currently I am using WP 3.5 and bbPress 2.2.3
Hope now you have time to check the problem. I do not know if I’m doing something wrong but six weeks ago, the translation worked fine with no problems.
Thanks
