My problem is that the entire sentence is translated ok the only word that is still in english is ‘days’ or ‘day’ and I don’t know from what file or how to translate it.
Does it have to do with date/time formatting ?

    Please help

    Hey all

I’m running bbpress with wordpress, WPML, buddypress and the buddybosstheme. I have three fora with three subfora each, two fora and their subfora are translations of the default EN fora and subfora respectively.

When I want to create a new topic in NL or FR, these are posted under the default langguage and do not show up in the list of topics of the subforum.
Changing the language in the backend to the correct one does make them show up. If you view a topic you can’t see the actual content.
Same thing for replies. Replies don’t show up, even if you change the language.

Could anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks in advance

    Pieter

The way the post type are setup make them not ready for translations array in array are the main problem.

For info bbpress v 2.2.4, translation files in my wp-content/languages/bbpress/bbpress-fr_FR.mo
All the others strings are getting translated 😉

    How to download:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/firmasite

    Theme Features:

    • Its GPL and free :)
    • Based on Twitter Bootstrap  and all WordPress, BuddyPress and bbPress files using only bootstrap css. That means you can use custom bootstrap styles and all of your site will use same theme style. There is already 13 custom bootstrap theme is included in theme from Bootswatch. In future, i will explain how you can add custom bootstrap styles
    • Using Bootstrap Responsive so all your site will be mobile ready. BuddyPress and bbPRess too!
    • Using Theme Customization API for theme options. It means you can see changes on live edit and you can easily extend options with wordpress functions directly. A video on action: http://youtu.be/F95TngS9er8  (Its a bit old version of theme but a good example for main theme options)
    • Google Fonts! lots of! You can choose google fonts from theme options ( watch example video from above)
    • 4 different layout:
    1. Content – Sidebar
    2. Sidebar – Content
    3. Only Content (Long)
    4. Only Content (Short)
    • Unique 2 feature: ShowCase and PromotionBar. ShowCase letting you show your special post in home page header like: http://twitter.github.com/bootstrap/examples/carousel.html and PromotionBar is letting you promote your posts in content header, footer or sidebar. You just marking your posts from your post panel. Both feature is using Bootstrap’s carousel component so there is no extra  javascript. An example post panel screenshot:
    • You can upload logo, disable comments, activate facebook comments, activate sharing buttons (facebook, twitter and google+1), upload custom background and option to remove responsive for fixed width if you want.
    • Supporting Post Formats! Formats have special template parts with get_template_part  and video, audio formats calling necessary js that need to play video or audios. System supporting oEmbed links too.
    • Ready for translation. Theme’s default language is English and Turkish translation is included. ( You can send me your translations if you have). You can use Codestyling Localization for translating theme.
    • I will add lots of filter and action (already have lots of) so you can use it as starter theme for your projects. I will explain how you can keep your customization while keeping theme up-to-date.

Themes are in review for publishing on WordPress.Org Theme  Directory but in meantime, you can download and try it from links above. Please share your opinions on theme in this topic.

I bet there are quite many here that would like a translation for their bbPress, but the translation files are not complete. Why don’t you help a little? There are quite a lot to translate (almost 1000 sentences), but if we all contribute it will not take that long. Go to http://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/2.2.x and help to complete the translation into your language!

It appears that bbPress Sweedish translations are a bit all over the place:

    bbPress Dev – 87% Complete https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/dev/sv/default
    bbPress 2.2x – 0% Complete https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/2.2.x/sv/default

Also WP Sweeden had previously operated there own translations here
    bbPress 2.1 http://wpsv.se/oversattning/projects/bbpress/21
    bbPress 2.0 http://wpsv.se/oversattning/projects/bbpress/20

I think the best idea would be to contact WP Sweeden and ask about bbPress translations

    Hello Stephen,
    Thanks for the update.

I’m working on completing the translation. I asked Yousef to send me the translation in order to test it. Usually I make sure that the translation is very accurate so I do not want to rely on translations that I haven’t checked it.

This is now fixed in /trunk/ and will be in the next release of bbPress, I also confirmed it in ticket #2138 (see the screenshot here)

    @Rasheed
I also recommended @Yousef-Matios post on the Polyglots blog here. regarding the Arabic translation of bbPress which he has and is more than willing to share. Can you also reply to that thread and update Yousef on how he can best help get the remaining Arabic translations needed at https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/dev/ar/default

You can also use https://codex.bbpress.org/bbp_show_lead_topic/ as used here on bbpress.org to use a different template for the ‘lead topic’.

An alternative to your str_replace method is to make your own language translation. https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/extending-buddypress/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/

Hi, I want to replace the admin menu “Forums” to a Japanese expression.
I have found in bbpress.php that labels including “Forums” is replaced with the function ‘__’
but somehow it is not working. The menu remains in English.

I created bbpress-ja.mo from bbpress.pot, and placed the file in the language folder.
It is including “Forums” and its translation.
    Any help or suggestions?

BTW, the translation for user pages (“Voices””Posts” etc.) and
for admin settings (messages in includes/admin/settings.php) is working.
    Troubles only with bbpress.php.

    WordPress: 3.5
    bbPress: 2.2.3
    Theme: skeleton

    Hello Again,

I am still waiting for a response. There is a problem in Translation file.

For example, here is a permalink for a string “Edit Forum”:
    https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/dev/ar/default?filters%5Bstatus%5D=either&filters%5Boriginal_id%5D=19786&filters%5Btranslation_id%5D=2008090

The string is translated but for some reason at my forums string it still appears in English.

I also want to mention that some of the strings displayed properly at my forums with it’s translation, but some strings still appear in English.

Currently I am using WP 3.5 and bbPress 2.2.3

Hope now you have time to check the problem. I do not know if I’m doing something wrong but six weeks ago, the translation worked fine with no problems.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I saw somwhere a topic about Forums, Topics and Replies somwhere in the forum and want to confirm that it exists even in just releases 2.2.3. In admin and on frontend bbpess post types labels don’t get translated (tested on 2 different sites, translated in 2 different tools, my language uses extended latin chars).

Another issue is with the User profile rules (permalinks, line 873 in bbpress.php). It’s possible to filter rewrite rules for user favorites and subscriptions but topics and replies (and it’s pagination) are hardcoded, even if there are functions available to use instead (and filter if needed)

    Topic: Translation in Glot

Hi I was wondering what version of bbPress is in the GlotPress (here) I’m pretty sure it’s behind.

I’m trying to complete the Dutch one but in the reference files I see its referencing wrong (thus old?) folders like `bb-admin` instead of `admin`.

Also when using the `.pot` file that comes with bbPress it shows 952 strings while an exported version from the glot only shows 927 strings.

Is there any indication when the Glot gets updated? If it does get updated soon I will complete the Dutch Translation.

I would love to keep all my website content in my native language.

I use a plugin “Simple Local Avatars” to allow my forum users to upload their avatars. I have translated the plugin myself and the translation works perfectly in ‘my profile’ section in WordPress’ dashboard.

However, on bbpress’ profile page the avatar upload section is still in English. Why doesn’t BBPress see the translation and how to make the BBPress see it?
