    They are deep integrated.

How do I load header.php into bbpress header?

Deep intergrate and then just load header.php into your header file of your bbpress theme.

I have looked all through the internet and this forum and for the life of me, I can’t find how to call the wordpress header to bbpress.

I don’t care for the styling of the forum or anything, since I will customize that, I simply want my wordpress header to sit above my bbpress forum?

They are database and user integrated, I am stuck on the visual part.

Can someone please direct me to where it explains it (and it works!)

    Thanks in advanced.

I currently run a a membership based site using Yahoo Groups. I was wondering if BBPress does the same things that Yahoo Groups does and also has the below capabilities:

1: Customization. I’d like to be able to customize the look and feel of the emails as if it were a newsletter. I can design the layout, colors, logo, etc.

2: Ads: Additionally, I’d like to be able to upload ads to the emails on a monthly basis or switch out the template with new ads on a monthly basis.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    1. Did you integrate with WordPress?
    2. What versions of bbPress and WordPress did you install?
    3. Are you using BuddyPress or WPMU?
    4. How about a URL?

Mh. I’m watching my readme.txt and I don’t see problems/mistakes. The funny thing is that the SVN actually functions cause it has already generated the .zip files. See:

    zaerl-url-preview.0.1.zip

    and

    zaerl-post-permalink.0.1.zip

    do exist on server.

Wow. That’s kinda strange. Your site does show the replay link that is used on thread pages that aren’t actual the last page. Go to:

    http://www.childfriendlybrighton.co.uk/1/bbpress/bb-admin/options-reading.php

and tell me whay you got.

exactly the same as what rick said for me too. 2.9.2, bbPress, PHP5, put all the integration stuff asked for during installation (and installed bbPress Integration plugin for WP). not sure where to see the error log either.

    Thanks for the reply!

    1. WP 2.9.2

    2. Just bbPress with new install of WP… nothing else.

    3. Yes, using PHP5

    4. I just went through the steps in the BB install. Was going to do the rest in the bb admin, but can’t get there.

    5. Not sure where to look for the error log :(

    Hello,

I have just installed bbPress at this URL http://www.childfriendlybrighton.co.uk/1/bbpress and the installation all seemed to complete without a problem.

However, I have created a couple of test topics, but I seem to be unable to reply to any posts. I can create a new post, but if I click on the link that says ‘Reply >>’ beneath a post, nothing happens. ‘#postform’ gets added to the URL in the address bar, but there is no area for me to enter a reply.

Can anyone help me? I haven’t integrated bbPress with my WordPress installation (I don’t think I want to for this site), and I have activated Askimet.

If anyone can give me some advice I’d be really grateful!

    Many thanks,

    Simon

    Hello lads,

First off could you tell us a few things please?

    1) It’s WP2.9.2 and not WPMU

    2) It’s bbPress and you’ve not got BuddyPress instealled

    3) Are you defiantly using PHP5

    4) “did all the integration stuff” – which guide did you follow?

    5) What does your server error log say?

    You can’t i’m afraid.

    It’s not released.

I’m getting the exact same error message. Can’t get to the forum I just installed.

Edit: I did the WP integration as well. This is my first time installing BBpress, so I’m not sure if I am just doing something wrong or what.

I got a “minor” error during installation – the Forum could not be created.

It said the installation completed, though.

Running WP 2.9.2 and did all of the integration stuff.

When I go to http://www.ne-ygn.org/forums it redirects me to /bb-admin/install.php and says:

    Oh dear!

    bbPress is already installed.

Perhaps you meant to run the upgrade script instead?

I’m lost, have never had any trouble with WP software installation before!

I doubt anyone needs to release it as a theme, it’s just a custom front page (although a good one for sure).

It just loops through Categories / Forums and then outputs the last topic and last post for each forum with it’s gravatar next to it. The code to do it yourself is already in front-page.php

( I say that without taking away from the excellent work done by lukepuuk and others on the theme )

Exit mate, If you want your bbPress to be/act different than all the others, you’ll have to change more than the CSS/Background. But realistically you don’t need much/any plugins to enable your forum to be unique while staying cool and usable :)

    Killer bbpress layout. Congrats!

Anyone want to release that kind of structure to a bbpress theme?

Heh, thanks. If I’m understanding you correctly, then I’m ahead of you on the basic forum functionality… I do have Zaerl Visibility plugged in (and working wonderfully) and that’s why my task-at-hand is mapping all the s2M roles to that of bbPress Member within bbPress. I don’t think I’m too far off here, just a bit out of my experience, but I’m up to the challenge.

I do find it funny that I’m the first to inquire about this. Not that I’m surprised, by the lack of results on some searching. But I love bbPress and s2Memeber seems like a very solid and well supported plugin (and free doesn’t hurt!)

    #89098

    In reply to: s2member integration

bbPress has no way of setting up roles to forums like every other forum out there has.

So if you’re hoping to say set “contributors” to see everything and then set your s2M to move people from members to contributors on the WordPress side I’m afraid you can’t – bbPress doesn’t come with that basic forum functionality.

In that regard, and with all due respect (you’d be amazed how very few people are as polite as you are), doing anything out-with the “plug and play” variety with bbPress unless you really know your way around PHP/WP-theming and functions is not going to happen.

Now you may be able to take one of Zaerl’s plugins which allows the setting of show/hide/moderate certain forums and adapt it. Or you could contact Zaerl for some custom work (i’ve no idea if they do this btw – its just where I’d start).

If you’re going on your own, keep posting back, we’ll help when and where we can :)
