Not sure why I can’t change the theme to my bbPress at the moment.

I have created a new root directory called ‘my-templates’ and the permission is set to ‘755’

Yet, the theme doesn’t show up in my bbPress CMS.

I was able to change the theme yesterday, but not today for some reason. And my current theme (custom) isn’t even showing up in the root directory right now with the default kakumei themes where I uploaded it.

    Any ideas?

A conversion script will be bundled with the plugin, however since bbPress doesn’t come with an export tool, it will probably happen at the database level and not via an XML import/export.

JJJ, forgive me if I missed this elsewhere on the forum… will the conversion script come with RC1? Or will that be in a later update?

    My forums- http://www.thegeekgroup.org/bb

are running ridiculously slow. A new post takes roughly 30 seconds to a full minute to go through, and we’re getting a lot of people double-posting unintentionally. (A LOT of people) Sometimes it just times out, and people then hit refresh, and find out that they in fact posted 3 or 4 times…. or it just times out and the post is lost.

All other stuff running on my server is fine, including a WordPress install, so I have to believe it is central to the BBPress installation.

This has been happening for a few weeks/maybe a month or two. Would love insight as to how I can make this move along faster.

Maybe it´s because Justin Bieber sucks?

Yes, but the structure can be filtered/adjusted as needed by a theme or plugin too. :)

I use bbPress to run a trouble-shooting site. So when labeled closed that means the problem is solved.

I want to exclude [closed] topics from latest discussion in the front page. Is there anyway to do so? Sadly my expertise don’t lie in PHP. :P

    @johnjamesjacoby

Will current theme structure of the Twenty Ten theme that is currently bundled with the bbPress plugin remain the same? I understand that some features will be added with the official release, but I am eager to release compatible themes.

@mr_pelle let’s be sure to keep reminding them on that mysql 5.5 blocker solved for the 1.1 release candidate which might be out by the end of March.

It’s already flagged critical so it should get some attention.

    Hi

I am relatively new to wordpress and bbpress and I am trying to install a forum onto one single page in my wordpress blog.

I installed BBpress but now when I try to visit my sie it takes me to my BBpress log in (please see http://www.the8lossplan.com)

I did not want my whole blog to be a forum, have I put the files in the wrong folder or is there something else I have done wrong?!

Please help – for a university project I absolutely have to finish tonight :(

    Thanks!!

If anyone knows how to set this up for me I’m happy to give them my details to help set up?

I am using GoDaddy as my webhosting.

    Topic: soundcloud embed

hallo there. I’m having trouble finding a way to get soundcloud embeds working within the bbpress that comes with buddypress. While the soundcloud plugin makes it straightforward to embed the players into standard wordpress posts, it isn’t recognised by bbpress. Has anybody had an experience of getting soundcloud embeds working in bbpress?

Shocking news… No official annoucement, no changelog, 1.0.3 milestone (11 months late!!) still open, an installation-blocker bug still open (for MySQL 5.5 users only).. WTF?!

Thank you _ck_ for the sticky! If I were looking at my feeds from TRAC I’d be still thinking 1.0.3 was just a dream… =P

Well… maybe not the “proper” answer but by hacking together the bits of single-reply that check to see if you’re logged in, with single-topic.php, I was able to get it to do a login check on the actual topics themselves too. So everything appears to be fine. If anyone knows of any nasty surprises I could encounter by this approach, please do let me know. =)

@ricardouk you should also not delete bb-config.php – there is no need to use a new copy of it, especially between minor version updates

@pbul2004 to avoid lots of spam you need a registration captcha plugin or “Human Test” and optionally askismet

Unfortunately there is no documentation on what the improvements between 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 were, there still isn’t even an official release announcement which is why I made one.

You’d have to read the notes from TRAC which unfortunately have been made a mess by changing all the file mime property types, even on unchanged files.
