Also have a read of the following thread and try some of the suggestions by JJJ here and here.
Can you try with a clean WordPress install on a different webhost or setup a local environment?
Try the import using the remote SQL server address rather than ‘localhost’
Can you narrow down the if it is an exact post that the importer fails on? eg. Is there some weird strings in the database for topic #xyz that is causing the importer to stop.
I would suggest upgrading 1.02 -> 1.1 and then install v2.1.1 of the bbPress plugin and upgrade again checking everything as you go.
Once your old install is fully upgraded go to /wp-admin/export.php and export the Forum/Topics/Replies then /wp-admin/import.php and install the WordPress importer and import that into your other database.
I’d really like to have my users log in using their existing social media logins…
I’ve seen this plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/loginradius-for-wordpress/
Does anyone have any experience with these guys?
Hello,
I am fairly new at using WordPress, BB Press and BuddyPress and at the moment I am using them all. I have the bbPress forums set up on a WP page named “Forums”, I was wondering though if I can have a single forum on it’s own page separate from the forums I have under the “Forums” page? I hope this makes sense.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
I am currently running bbPress 2.1, and my WordPress version is 3.4.1. I am also using Bizz (WPExplorer) for my theme. Everything looks fine, except when you reply to a topic, the reply doesn’t appear. Instead, you see this

I changed my theme to the Twenty-Ten bbPress theme, and the replies showed up so the problem is with the theme. However, I don’t know what it could be. Could someone tell me what could be causing this? Thanks
I have recently upgraded to WordPress 3.4.1 and bbpress 2.1. Previously editors could see Topics and Replies on the dashboard. However now that is missing? Administrators can still see them. I have today installed the plugin ‘User Role Editor’ and given privilages to editors to delete topics and replies etc but these items are still missing from the dashboard. An editor can still delete the topics/replies from within the forum itself. Did something change in bbpress 2.1 that could explain this?
Thanks
Hello, I have a problem. I just downloaded bbPress to WordPress, was installed correctly, but when putting an order in the forum is not possible.
I have 5 sections in the forum, and try to create order, but I ignored. I tried to change through “Order” putting the numbers 1,2,3, etc., but the next thing is the default, new forums up, and there is no way to change it, why?
thx @netweb i write message on https://pl.wordpress.org/contact/ meybe somone help me .
https://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/1819 gave a solution to the problem that I am pretty sure worked. However, I just want to note that the issue still exists and help anyone that might be having this problem.
If your replies are being covered up like the picture above, you can fix it by adding the following comment into your bbpress.css file (wp-content/plugins/bbpress/bbp-theme-compat/css/bbpress.css):
#bbpress-forums div.reply {
height: auto;
}
As with the author of this bug request, I am also using custom-community.
Yes, install the plugin from https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress/
Currently there are no Persian (fa) Translations for bbPress
https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/bbpress/plugin
It would be great if you could help translate bbPress into Persian, contact the Persian (fa) translations team to get it setup.
https://fa.wordpress.org/
Is that a wordpress site?
I’m having the exact same problem, but with the “pixel” theme (https://wordpress.org/extend/themes/pixel).
I looked for the “add_filter”, but could not find it.
Can you please tell me where to look exactly ? I have to mention that php is foreign language to me…
Thanks in advance.
Hi, I am testing a WordPress MultiSite (WP 3.4.1) with BuddyPress 1.6 Beta2 + bbPress 2.1.
BuddyPress is being activated on the 2nd site of the multisite network.
And I am using bbPress for the main site.
But I cannot access the Favorites in the main site where bbPress 2.1 is being used. When I clicked the Favorites in bbPress forum, I will be directed to the 2nd site and shown “Page not found”.
Also, I noticed the bbPress Forum and Topics from the main site is showing up on the BuddyPress Activity, but the favorites tab is showing nothing.
Is there a way to separate bbPress Forum on the main site with BuddyPress on the 2nd site?
Can bbPress on each site in the multisite environment has its own User profile page to manage their favorites and see the topics without going to BuddyPress?
Additional question: I can use the login to access WordPress.org, BuddyPress.org, and bbPress.org, and each has its own user profile page. Can we achieve that too?
Many thanks.

I installed the WordPress application, its ok, but its only publicate the photo in the news page and not in the activity page. Any idea?
Thanks
Correct. You see that warning, because you WordPress allows you to post anything you want to. Even potentially malicious JavaScript or the like. It’s a feature, and bbPress is politely reminding you of it.
Use WordPress’s discussion settings. bbPress will obey them.
There are many plugins available in the WordPress.org repository that will accomplish this. Here’s one to try

Hi!
I have upgraded to the most recent versions of BuddyPress, bbPress, and WordPress.
I see on loop-single-reply.php that the information displayed after the avatar is called by
do_action( ‘bbp_theme_after_reply_author_details’ );
My plan was to use the information in http://codex.bbpress.org/bbp_theme_after_topic_author/ but apply it to the bbp_theme_after_reply_author_details action instead.
Where does the code provided in the codex example actually need to go? bp-custom.php? Or somewhere else? Is this even the right way to go about adding it?
Any tips would be great, thanks!

After spending some hours with the same strange behaviour i finally found a solution:
This error happens when you’r running WP in a multisite-environment, only on the mainsite AND if you added define('NOBLOGREDIRECT', 'http://example.com'); to your wp-config.php
Adding remove_action( 'template_redirect', 'maybe_redirect_404' ); to your themes functions.php will stop that annoying bug.
I guess this error happens because maybe_redirect_404() is fired before the profile-pages are build. the network administrator (or sub-sites) will be never redirected by NOBLOGREDIRECT, thats why the bug never happends when a network-admin clicks on a profile-link or when you’r running bbpress on a sub-site in your WP-network.
More about the NOBLOGREDIRECT-fix (it also helps showing 404-errors): http://frumph.net/2010/06/05/wordpress-3-0-multisite-subdomain-installation-noblogredirect-behavior-fix/

Oh this is worrying – the silence to your question says it all aro747- probably nobody has been able to search for questions relating to this topic, and hence you have no other feedback!!! This is so fundamental to a forum, if search functionality doesnt exist its head for the hills time. I realise you guys working on this plugin are voluteering your time, but you still have an agenda and it must include getting a buoyant community behind your project!
I shall look a little more before I make a categorical decision, and even if I go back to a forum, external to wordpress, I shall try to keep an eye on your progress as I think the future rewards of a forum integrated into the heart of my wordpress implementation will be huge. But how far aaway is that, and is there any point in writing on any other threads when so few eyes are likely to go over the words!!
Good luck men. Ill see you on the other side!
I have a problem with conversion.

Hi netweb
Thank you for replying.
I have bbpress standalone and I want to migrate to bbpress plugin. When installing the bbpress plugin, then I go to tools>Forums to import the forums from bbpress standalone. At the conversion phase the converstion hangs when reach lines 700. This is the issue. I tried in on a different machine, with different installations but no luck. The thing is that when I am converting again, and I select the option “Purge all information from a previously attempted import” the conversion window shows that it deletes topics that are more than 700 line range. That means it has passed those lines but did not show me that. In any case the conversion does not work for me.
Please let me know if you need further information.
Thank You
We would need more detailed information from you to be able to reproduce the problem you are having.
