MemberHello, I was directed to this topic by mdawaffe [via https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/52?replies=23%5D and am having a bit of difficulty implementing this.
On my site, I’m not using a subdomain, instead I have bbPress located in a seperate folder from my WordPress installations ( localhost/wordpress and localhost/bbpress). I modified the code somewhat and it the problem hasn’t subsided.
Here’s my modified code in bbPress’s config.php:
// Cookies, bbPress fix
$bb->cookiedomain = 'localhost';
$bb->cookiepath = '/';
Thanks!

MemberI have tried to add the above line to my install of bbpress and I get the following error:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare allowed_tags() (previously declared in /home/taacus/public_html/wordpress/wp-includes/general-template.php:602) in /home/taacus/public_html/wordpress/bbpress/bb-includes/template-functions.php on line 949
What am I doing wrong?

Can you disable Ultimate Tag Warrior to see if that fixes both problems by magic?

Memberdoubter,
Can you try moving the file bb-includes/db-mysqli.php somewhere safe and then copying bb-includes/db.php to bb-includes/db-mysqli.php (so that the mysqli file is a duplicate of the other file)?
And, just to help troubleshoot, WordPress is working fine for you on that server?

Membersuleiman,
https://bbpress.org/documentation/integration-with-wordpress/
CTRL^f “We have a WordPress plugin to”
right after that, there are two wp plugins that I BELIEVE gets around this. give them a try. let us know if it works.
AphelionZ
ParticipantThat’s pretty cool, but the plugin is only available for WordPress. That means you’d have to call the wordpress tag within bbPress, and I dont load wordpress with my forum (way too complicated for what i need)
However, somebody could take the wordpress code and customize it for bbPress

MemberSounds like more work than I can get into right now…the integrations on abunchofcars looks great btw. Would you be willing to post your mods somewhere? It may be handy to have something like this with a little instruction so others can integrate, and just edit a single variable, such as width, to accomodate different wp templates…..thanks!

I dont know what went wrong, but this happen when i try to loading wordpress 2.0.5 using bbpress 0.73. Before when i using wordpress 2.0.4 and bbpress 0.72 on my another blog, i dont have such problem. Is it because i have update my akismet plugin or i did something wrong in the config? I only put this on the top of my config.php
require_once(‘/path/to/wp-blog-header.php’);
define(‘WP_BB’, true);
I also have the same problem with Ultimate tag warrior but i can disable that plugin, but i dont want to disable akismet. Anyone got any good suggestion?

Memberdoubter:
Are you trying to incorporate the look of your main site into bbpress or functions of WP into bbpress? If you are looking to make bbpress look a part of your site, I highly recommend that you remove all the WP code from config.php. Then make a my-templates directory inside bbpress directory, make a copy of the contents of bb-templates and drop it in there. Then modify the files to match your existing site. See an example here: http://www.abunchofcars.com/forum/

Memberdoubter,
$bb->wp_home = 'http://www.captainsdead.com';
That line in the code you pasted is missing a single quote at the end (before the semi colon).
Hope that works

Memberhey gang. i typically can figure stuff out on my own, but after a week of trying to install this i have hit a wall. i am sure i am missing something fairly stupid, but any help at this point would be very helpful. i am trying to incorporate bbpress with my wp blog @ captainsdead.com. I am currently receiving this error.
arse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/captvan4/public_html/config.php on line 55
thanks in advance, very much.

Memberjessind,
I tried your site in firefox and http:
//jessanastasia.com/forums/topic/1 gave a 404 not found reply (which was then caught by your WordPress for some reason and I ended up at your blog).
Which method did you use to set up permalinks? MultiViews or the rewrite stuff? Did you put the .htaccess file in the forums directory?

Membermokona,
The error is actually caused by the line above that on. Delete the line that says:
define(WPp_BB', true);

Membercvanp, if it’s not a subdirectory, it isn’t as easy. You’ll have to change WordPress’ cookies and bbPress’.

Memberzapata,
That is a bbPress plugin, not a WordPress plugin. It should be installed in bbPress’ my-plugins/ directory. See https://bbpress.org/documentation/faq/#customization-folders (the bottom of that page).

MemberIf you want it to have the same look as your site, don’t edit the config.php like that. Create a folder inside bbpress directory called my-templates and make a copy of all the files in bb-templates and paste it into my-templates and edit those files. Example: http://www.abunchofcars.com/forum/

MemberHi, I think I’ve got the same problem.
I’m trying to install bbPress into a subdirectory of wordPress and I want it to have the same template of my main site.
I’ve looked this topic and I’ve uninstalled bbPress and made some changes to my config.php, that now looks like:
<?php
require_once('/home/wererabbit/demon.wererabbit.net/wp-blog-header.php');
define('WP_BB', true);
define('BBDB_NAME', '*****');
define('BBDB_USER', '*****');
define('BBDB_PASSWORD', '******');
define('BBDB_HOST', 'mysql.wererabbit.net');
$bb_table_prefix = 'bb_';
$bb->domain = 'http://demon.wererabbit.net/';
$bb->path = '/forum/';
$bb->name = 'Forum';
$bb->admin_email = 'lum@wererabbit.net';
$bb->mod_rewrite = true;
$bb->page_topics = 30;
$bb->edit_lock = 60;
$bb->gmt_offset = 0;
$bb->akismet_key = false;
$bb->wp_table_prefix = 'wp_';
$bb->wp_home = 'http://demon.wererabbit.net';
$bb->wp_siteurl = 'http://demon.wererabbit.net';
define(WPp_BB', true);
define('BBPATH', dirname(__FILE__) . '/' );
require_once( BBPATH . 'bb-settings.php' );
?>
Now when I try to install I get a parse error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /home/.nevermore/wererabbit/demon.wererabbit.net/forum/config.php on line 57
line 57 is:
define(‘BBPATH’, dirname(__FILE__) . ‘/’ );
I think there’s something missing but I do not catch it.
