Didn’t make any difference to the forum page, but the topic page got worse…

When I try to go directly to topic page with the URL, I only get a white page with the following error:

have you tried a standard permalink option just to see if it would work? /%postname%/ for example?

I’m not really sure what those errors mean, but that is my best guess, that somehow it doesn’t like the .html?

As to the login widget, there are a number of plugins with custom WordPress login wigets, some of which include redirects. Search the WordPress repository for one that fits your needs.

This plugin obviously has problems and a lack of support by WordPress. It’s just an entire list of not resolved bugs that have been reported. I’m looking for alternatives.

Hey you guys, been away for a bit and was excited to see the phpBB conversion being added to the list of converters. Thank you so much Alex and congratulations on the marriage!

I have a problem that I haven’t seen anyone mention yet so I’m wondering what I’m doing wrong. I’m trying to run my conversion and I’m getting the “exceeded 75000 questions” and so I was going to have to keep trying to run it every hour to finally get it all converted.

HOWEVER, I keep getting an odd end result after I get the screen with the error messages that it will then take me to my login page but it’s the 5 minutes wordpress installation option and it asks me for my login info and then it says page not found.

My forum is at http://www.mywebsite/forum

My wordpress site is at http://www.mywebsite/blog

After converstion it will send me to http://www.mywebsite/blog/wp-admin/install.php

If I put in my old info to the wordpress login it will kick out another list of the conversion errors.

I’m not sure if I’m having root directory problems or something going on with the conversion. I’ll keep looking but does anyone know immediately off hand what I’ve got going wrong or what it could be?

ETA: I just found that the conversion has changed my wp-config file settings for the database name, dbase username and password. It looks like it puts in some generic settings that you guys have. Here’s what my config says…

Should I try to find a certain converter file and change this default setting within that file? The converter must not have taken my settings that I put into the form provided to do the conversion.

Just installed the Codestyling Localization plugin… it spits out a message: “Loading Issue: Author is using load_textdomain instead of load_plugin_textdomain function. This may break behavior of WordPress, because some filters and actions won’t be executed anymore. Please contact the Author about that.”

Well,.. the author would be bbPress.

any comments?

I’m unable to use this plugin on bbPress but works fine on everything else.

I tried what you suggested.

At my forums root http://klymene.net/forums/ you will see 2 forums listed – English and Hindi. You will also see that there is an indication of some content under English.

If you click on English http://klymene.net/forums/forum/english no topics are listed.

On top of page, you will see error message

P.S. In Settings > Permalinks, the setting is

/%postname%.html

Make sure that you have gone into settings -> forums and clicked save. I would also suggest going into settings -> permalinks, choose a nice url structure from the list and also click save.

This ‘should’ set the permalinks for everything so that your topics will show up. Hopefully solving the problem.

I have just installed bbPress plugin into my WordPress (with Weaver II theme – based on TwentyEleven theme).

When I go to the forums root, the layout seems acceptable.

However, when I click on a forum, I am taken to a page where I do not see any topics listed under the forum, even though I have created a topic under this forum, and this is acknowledged in the forum list (root).

If I go directly to the topic URL by typing it in address bar, I do get to the topic page, which is visible just fine (except that no reply, flag, quote etc buttons are available).

Please help!

So I have made a few posts around this forum and the wordpress forums about my technical difficulties with bbPress integrating into my theme… I’ve yet to figure it all out.

I’m not sure if this is the right forum to post this in or not, but I would like to “hire” someone to help me with my forums. I want to make them with bbPress and have them full-width, while still retaining the main menu and logo at the top of the website…

Unfortunately can’t get it to work at all. Consistently get “conversion failed” error and have no idea why. The error on the bottom is “conversion is not supported.” Could be a server setup error but I have phpbb3 and wp in the same database. My guess was that since I have the host configured as an ip behind a firewall as 10.10.xx.xx that I would use that as the hostname. I tried everything and get the same error. I used the same hostname as is set up in wordpress, same user name same database and same password and I get the same “conversion is not supported” error. Anyone see anything like this?

I installed WordPress 3.3 and BuddyPress 1.5.2. BuddyPress seems to be considered my site.

The bbPress plugin already existed after I first installed BuddyPress.

I now want to run a Bulletin Board site so I created a new site and gave it a directory name off the root install.

When I FTP to the server, the directory I created does not show up yet I can render a site at the address that includes the directory in the url. I also get the Twenty Eleven theme with the site.

I went to the site and activated the bbPress plugin.

The Bulletin Board site looks like traditional WordPress.

How do I get the new site to look like your bulletin board site?

i’m trying to set up a forum using bbpress at awardspace.com.

trouble:

i unzipped bbpress 2.0 on my desktop, then i uploaded ALL the files to awardspace in a folder called bbpress. i visited mysite.com/bbpress/ and there’s no installer. it’s just blank.

questions:

is bbpress a plugin for wordpress? like should i install wordpress on the server first? i’m completely new to these things…

or

should i set up a database first? then go to somewhere and find the installer??

or

should i just set up wordpress and install a wordpress forum plugin??

I am integrating BBPress 2.0.2 into WordPress and Buddypress to create a forum/social experience.

I have everything functioning correctly, but while trying to style the forum I cannot seem to change the height of the forums categories. Currently they are about 300px in height, which is ridiculous! I have done everything I know to do in CSS and I cannot change this.

Am I doing something wrong?

I just upgraded wordpress to the latest version, then bbpress. This is my first time upgrading bbpress, and evidentially I did something wrong.

I receive this error:

Fatal error: Class ‘BBP_Theme_Compat’ not found in /home/username/public_html/wp-content/themes/daily/functions.php on line 501

I searched google and this site, and was unable to find any information. Where did I go wrong?

Hi.

I am using bbPress as a stand alone forum on WordPress with Suffusion theme.

I have Categories and Forums.

I do not like the look on the home page of the Forum List under the Category.

All the Forums titles run together onto one continuous line like this:

Category A

-Forum 1, Forum 2, Forum 3, Forum

4, Forum 5, Forum 6

How can I have the Forums under a category listed down the page like this?

Category A

-Forum 1

-Forum 2

-Forum 3

-Forum 4

-Forum 5

-Forum 6

Is there a pluggin to fix this?

Yes, you can install bbpress plugins…so long as they are designed for 2.0.2 or higher. There are also many wordpress and buddypress plugins that will work with bbPress 2.0 in this configuration.

I’m guessing that the most ‘generic’ way to do this would be to use multisite, put bbPress onto a single site, and then simply add a link to that site in all the other sites menu’s.

You could use a plugin like

That would add each user to every site on your network when they signup on one site. It does take some setup, but works pretty well for what it is.
