    Previously only the wordpress search was on the page on the left side column. I thought that would be sufficient to search through bbpress posts especially with the plugin that I have, see below. I would like to disable the bbpress search box.

    My plugins are bbpress, bbpressmoderation, bbpress topics for posts, en Spam, search bbpress 2.0, and wanguard.

    Here is my link. http://www.canadianbookclubs.com/forums2/

    Where you see the forum summary section, it used to be the latest posts.

    The new search is a bbPress specific search and while the previous one is a WordPress search. Do you want to disable the bbPress one?

    Can you provide me with a list of plugins you are using? That is likely the culprit at play here.

    And there is a new search box above the new forum summary page. So now I have two search boxes on the page. One that is set by wordpress, and one that has appeared courtesy of the updated bbpress plugin

    Is there any way to revert back to the bbpress plugin before this last update?

    I updated bbpress. Never had problems with the previous updates. Now, I have the following problems on my front page:

    Oh bother! No topics were found here! (why has this appeared? Comes from div id=”bbpress-forums” and div class=”bbp-template-notice”

    Even though my front page is checked for latest posts. It is now showing my forum summary page. Why is bbpress plugin superseding the wordpress of only showing latest posts?

    I never changed anything in bbpress files.

    Whenever a user posts a comment it redirects them back to the very beginning of the conversation instead of letting them continue to read/comment from the current place. There are several pages of comments so its really annoying to have to keep scrolling down again and find where you left off. Can this be fixed?

    Site: http://brandschool.brandtwist.com/login/
    Specs: I’m using WordPress 3.4.2 and BBPress 2.2.4.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi All,

    I am working on bbpress on my new site, so it works together with buddypress. But I really hate the way the url structure looks on the forum.

    now it’s forums/forum/test and I changed that already to forum/subject

    But now when I look at a topic, it’s /topic/post instead of forum/subject/post.

    Any way to fix this? I did find some guys talk about a nicer permalinks plugin, but when I click that link I keep getting back to a post about it on this forum…

    I got the latest install of wordpress, buddypress bbpress

    Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to edit the content of the emails that are sent out when a new user registers or changes/forgets their password.

    When a new user registers, the email they receive only says the username/password and provides a link, nothing else.

    I would like to be able to edit this if it is possible?

    I’m using WordPress 3.5.1 and Twenty Twelve.

    Sigh. No; first I’ve heard of it, and totally lame that’s happening.

    Do you mind opening a ticket over at http://bbpress.trac.wordpress.org?

    Looks like it did change, but only for the positive in this regard:

    P.S. I deactivated all plugins except for bbpress. No change.

    @xmasons Thank you.

    I added it at the end of functions.php (infocus-buddypress theme). Unfortunately no change.

    But now I know that it is something in wp-login.php; although wp-login is not in the /wp-admin folder, when I press the ‘Log in’ button (without even typing something in the username or password fields) immediately is asking for the /wp-admin password set in the .htaccess.

    I use the bbPress Login widget on the forum’s left sidebar.

    edit: I tried to remove all the widgets, unsuccessfully (because I noticed the “Lost Password” link refers to /wp-admin).

    Hi,

    There is a development version at https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/bbpressmoderation.zip with a fix for the hidden topics/replies.

    Unzip the download and replace /wp-content/plugins/bbpressmoderation

    I’ve only done limited testing as I’m not a bbPress user anymore – so feedback appreciated on the changes.

    Thank to @netweb for the pointer – I’ve followed JJJ advice to use a posts_where filter to add the pending status so moderated topics and replies are included in the query.

    It’s a real ugly fix (see the source comments for details), but hopefully it should get you through until moderation makes it into bbPress for real.

    Ian.

    Hi All,

    I am the bbPressModeration plugin author. I’ve only just found out about this today, so my apologies for the problems you are having.

    Unfortunately neither this forum or the WordPress forum notified me of the new posts.

    I’ll try and see what the problem is today – but if anyone suffering the problem can provide any extra info it would help – e.g. error messages, log messages in Apache etc.

    Ian.

    Hi !
    I just install a new bbPress (last version) on a custom wordpress theme.

    It works fine, except the index page (the page where all the forum are listed).
    I just got an empty wordpress post.
    Here is an image (the “mysite/forums” page):

    However, when i try to display a forum from the back office. It works fine. So i just have a problem with the index…
    The the “mysite/forums/forum/forum-1-2/” page

    I know the bug came from the theme, because it works fine on other theme, but i don’t know how can i solve it šŸ™‚

    Thanks, and sorry my bad english !

    Hi, I updated bbPress to 2.3 and now have bullet points on the forums page. These were not on the page before the update. The website is still under development – http://burnieworks.com/ (I am using WordPress 3.5.1)
    Does any one have any idea why these bullet points are appearing?
    Thanks,
    John

    Upon update to bbPress 2.3, I appeared to lose a considerable amount of my style customizations. To isolate the issue, I manually enqueued [theme]\css\bbpress.css, and all styling returned. So, it appears that the issue is merely that this file is not getting enqueued by bbPress.

    As it turns out: I have a bbpress-functions.php file in [theme]\bbpress, which was taking precedence over the Plugin’s templates\default\bbpress-functions.php file, which handles the stylesheet and script enqueueing.

    Apparently, unlike with WordPress Child Themes, in which the Child Theme functions.php merely loads *prior* to the template (Parent Theme) functions.php, with bbPress Theme compat, if the Theme includes \bbpress\bbpress-functions.php, that file will take *precedence* over the Plugin’s \templates\default\bbpress-functions.php file, and prevent it from loading at all.

    The solution is simple: if you include a functional file (e.g. for adding/removing various filters) as part of your bbPress Theme compat, don’t include it as [theme]\bbpress\bbpress-functions.php file. In my case, I renamed that file as [themename]-bbpress-functions.php, and the problem was resolved.

    Hopefully this will help someone else who encounters the same issue.

    Here’s what I have in my functions.php file to keep people who shouldn’t have access to WP admin pages.

    `
    function no_admin_access()
    {
    if ( !current_user_can( ‘publish_pages’ ) ) {
    wp_redirect( home_url() );
    die();
    }
    }
    add_action( ‘admin_init’, ‘no_admin_access’, 1 );
    `

    Until the author updates the moderation plugin you may be able to try Spam Destroyer. I have no personally used it but I’ve heard others have had success with it.

    I’m also having an issue. When someone posts, the post goes through, but it takes them to an error screen. Now in addition the email notifications aren’t going out. I had been using https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress-notify/ which had been working until recently. I also tried https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bbpress-new-topic-notifications/ with no luck.

    Hi Everyone,

    I set up BBPress on a friend’s website, http://blog.photographersadventureclub.com.

    Until the recent 2.3 update, everything was fine. For some reason now the admin tabs no longer show: Forum & Threads. However, BBPress options do show under the Tools and Settings tabs. There is just no way to create new forums and moderate threads from the backend now.
