In reply to: How do you make footer background transparent?
I had someone not so arrogant help me out. Was just a few lines of code he didnt mind giving me.
Thanks for being cocky. I dont know what that contributed to anything or anyone here.
In reply to: How do you make footer background transparent?How do I move the footer inside the wrapper?
The theme is original Kakumei, with only colors modified.
In reply to: How do you make footer background transparent?Am I going to have to remove the footer completely then? And dont give BBpress its well deserved credit?
I have looked through the entire style.css and theres nothing making that background white.
I thought maybe it was local, so I have looked through footer.php, and frontpage.php, and still nothing. Why is the bottom of my page white?
I see I have a habit of turning these help topics of mine into developer diaries. Now the question is different, so I will make a new post for it instead.
Okay I have managed to resolve all the problems exept one. I need help with only this now.
When scrolling down, the white footer covers the background picture. How can I make this footer transparent? It does not have a defined bg color even.
Okay.. I have no made the picture appear. You can see it here http://www.michaeljackson.no/forum
BUT, the header-background disappears.. How do I resolve this?
Im using two boards to get support for this, so the code has changed slightly now.
But the original question is: How can I create a background picture that is locked in the bottom corner, and doesnt scroll?
This is the CSS code I have placed in style.css in structure:
‘
#michael-j-pic {
background:url(“images/bakgrunn.png”) no-repeat scroll right bottom transparent;
position:fixed;
height:100%;
width:100%;
z-index:1;
}
‘
In reply to: Spambot managed to register passed Human Test pluginChrishajer thank you. I somehow managed to completely ignore that button. Dont know why. I have deleted him now.
In reply to: Spambot managed to register passed Human Test pluginChrishajer, what you mean just delete him in the admin?
There is no way to delete users in bbpress.
Not without mass delete plugin, which i had to delete, because it screwed up my forum.
In reply to: BBPress is falling apart for me nowI suppose this actually had nothing to do with BBpress at all, but my host instead.
I got them to restore a newer backup now so everything is okay again.
Though this all got me thinking what BBpress could offer to protect against this sort of thing. I know you can back up SQL bases in Cpanel, but maybe you could make a backup file of the users in the adminpanel of BBpress?
Lets say there was a risk of loosing something, you could back up your users, and if you lost some, you could restore their accounts with ease.
In reply to: BBPress is falling apart for me nowTurns out the host backed up a week old image. Without asking me.
Lost three users, that I have no idea on how to get back. I dont remember their emails, their nicks or anything.
Ben L. is that how it works? Out of the box like that?
Cause I have no knowledge on how to recode the php.
But I dont want to “autoblock”.
Thats demotivating for other users. I want a denial-message that tells a person “the post you’ve written is too short, please write a reply of minimum XX characters.”
This is the art of telling someone to improve themselves, not to trash whatever effort they have made. It’s about encouragment, not supression.
In reply to: Lets Talk about Facebook ConnectI think you are giving Facebook way too little credit.
Facebook has redefined the whole genre of social communication on the internet.
It has become so widely used, that it’s incorporated in Playstation 3, Xbox 360, several cellphones, and in many countries – Facebook has been the platform for actual change. MSN or MySpace has NEVER achieved this.
I don’t think Facebook is going away any time soon. When it comes to instant messenger, MSN has been top dog for ever, contradicting your philosophy about topdogs. Everyone in my country uses MSN, and has for the last 10-12 years. I dont even remember anymore. So I think Facebook is pretty much gonna be the number one social website for a very long time.
Well, you have the icecream truck Ben L. haha, just kidding. I agree with you.
In reply to: Forum rules acceptance and acknowledgementNo then it doesnt matter, if you dont know what you’re agreeing to, it’s just another obstacle in the way of registering. BBPress have been smart to remove it.
Registering should be as easy as possible, in an ideal world, it shouldn’t be required at all actually. Hopefully this Facebook integration and Open ID stuff will popularise one day.
In reply to: Forum rules acceptance and acknowledgementNobody reads forumrules, good luck
Ever since I started using BBpress, I’ve seen users like you constantly nag about Buddypress. My impression is that this is a forum made by someone else, it’s another program, and I don’t understand the need to constantly speak about it here?
Is there something I’m missing? Why is Buddypress relevant here at all?
In reply to: BBPress Polls for 1.02 or other polls working?I think that was some of my problem, it didnt work untill you clicked on the forum category and used the button in there. But when trying to create polls on the frontpage it didnt work. Not sure, coming back to this soon.
In reply to: BBPress Polls for 1.02 or other polls working?Alright, I’ll give it another try this weekend. Just need to finish up some schoolwork first.
In reply to: BBPress Polls for 1.02 or other polls working?Didnt work to vote. It’s a bit vague right now, deleted it ages ago, but I tried everything and it did not work.
I want it to say to users writing typical “lol”s, that “Your post is too short, please write a longer message before you post”. Then users can keep the window they’re in, and add more words to their post. A way to force better communication.
In reply to: ck bbpress, show case and promotionGlad you’re in on it folks.
I believe that if BBPRess was included in the WordPress install, as a default plugin or something, it would force higher interest.
I don’t want to blog it, but rather give these users an errormessage saying “You have not written a long enough post” or something like that.
