We’ve ditched our old punbb board and some of our users miss the ability to view just the posts that have been posted since their last visit. That “New Posts” link was actually one of our most popular pages.
Are there any plugins available that could do that? I’ve spent awhile looking and it seems like a popular request for those of us from punbb and phpbb.

So I am new to wordpress and bbpress. For forum usage I am very used to phpbb3. I installed bbpress + buddypress because my wordpress theme supports it, but upon playing with it, it doesn’t feel like forums at all.
1) Why can’t I do a normal forum layout:
Category 1
Forum 1
Forum 1 description
Forum 2
Forum 2 description
Category 2
Etc
2) Where is the normal forum functionality? Signatures, Mark all as read, statistics, Who’s Online, etc
3) No usergroups or controls? How do I set private forums? Some forums I want people to read and reply, but not create new posts. I can’t do this?
4) It doesnt seem it even tells me which forum has new posts and which doesn’t? Maybe that’s a Theme issue?
So is bbpress actual forums or meant for something else? Or am I missing it all entirely?

For some reason, the posting form is not visible on internet explorer. it works on all other browsers.

I am getting 404 error on the bbpress topic feed. For example https://www.xyz.com/forum/feed
is working but when i try “https://www.xyz.com/forum/topic/lorem-ispum/feed” then it don’t work and takes me to 404 page.
Can anyone help me on this please?

I just install and use BBpress, all settings are fine for me, but only the below issue.
I would like to integrate WordPress Social Login 2.3.3 into my forum, in which I find that there is no Login/Register box for visitors to register/login before creating/commenting topics.
May any specialist provide solutions to me?

I hope somebody can help me, since I’m having problems with the translation of a new bbPress installation… It’s kind of strange actually, because it seems to translate only part of the strings, but if I check my .mo & .po files they’re fully translated, just how it should be.
I’ve been using WordPress for years but it’s the first time I used bbPress as well, so I followed these instructions religiously.
(I actually only had to change the directory in which I put the .mo & .po files to wp-content/languages/plugins, since putting them in wp-content/languages/bbpress/ – I had to create this folder to try – like written in the documentation won’t work. After that I tried to put them in every other “logic” place that came to mind with no success)

Hi- I’m trying to create a bbpress sidebar template on the forum page. The sidebar works on the default page but it’s not optimal to have a bbpress sidebar on every page of the site. Therefore, I’d like a template just for bbpress.
I’ve searched the forums and have consulted used the bbpress documentation.
Here’s what I’ve done. Any input is appreciated.
I’ve created a bbpress specific sidebar using css and php in my child theme (using bbpress instructions)
I’ve populated the sidebar with widgets and saved it. However, when I go to page>templates there is no bbpress sidebar template to choose from.
To fix this, I went to the theme root page templates and copied ‘template-sidebar-left.php.’
Per the bbpress instructions, I renamed it bbpress.php and moved it the file to the theme folder. Now it’s wp-content/themes/%mytheme%/bbpress.php
This didn’t add a bbpress sidebar template. So I went into bbpress.php and changed
<div id=”primary” class=”container”>
to
<div id=”primary2″ class=”container2″>
No luck.
Also, I checked and there are no inactive sidebar widgets.
Still no luck. What am I doing wrong? What else can I try to get a bbpress template sidebar to appear?

‘Forums’ has disappeared from the wordpress admin menu. They are still there on the front end but I can’t access forums on the dashboard.

Does anyone know how to add a link to the main forum page which allows a user to mark all forums as read? I know there is the mark as read plugin but as far as I know it only works for topics not forums and I don’t know if it has a mark all as read function. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance people! 😀
