Published on June 22nd, 2008 by ChristiaanHi, I’ve managed to integrate a fresh install of both WP and bbP successfully up to the point before integrating the WP header/theme.
Despite the overhead I’d like to use the method described at https://bbpress.org/documentation/integration-with-wordpress/ but when I use this method nothing happens; the forum remains looking the same.
I’m using a full URL address (i.e. http://) to call the blog header because a relative address doesn’t appear to work and I can’t seem to get the absolute address correct.
Any ideas?
WP Integration: suggested user role mappings
Published on June 21st, 2008 by ChristiaanHi, I’ve just installed a fresh install of WP and bbP and I’ve got to the point where I need to choose the user role mappings.
However, although I’ve used WP extensively I’ve never used bbP before so I’m not sure what mappings I should use. I was thinking maybe something like the following:
Administrator – Key Master
Editor – Administrator
Author – Moderator
Contributor – Member
Subscriber – Inactive
Can anyone with experience give me any better suggestions? Also, can I easily change these roles later?
PlugIn Request: Weekly Newsletter
Published on June 21st, 2008 by aiiteehey guys! another idea coming!! xDD
well this time i was thinking about a way to remind all my members about the new posts and topics inside the forum, weekly.
the system uses the emails database. Inside the admin panel there must be an option like “Edit Weekly Email” or something like that you know what i mean?
Bozo explanation please?
Published on June 21st, 2008 by jldeanHello
So a user posts an obnoxious comment and I mark him as a bozo. He is now listed under Users – Bozos. I can still see his comment in the forum though, so perhaps that’s because I’m logged in as a keymaster. So I log out, and the comment is still there.
Please could someone tell me how the Bozo setting works? Now that he’s marked as bozo, will it make any future posts from him ‘invisible’? Does it work by IP address or user login? How does it show him his posts, but nobody else?
Using 0.9.0.2 BBPress intergrated with WP
Thanks!
Problem logging in and editing profile
Published on June 21st, 2008 byHi I’ve got these two problems which may be related.
Login problem
I believe I followed the instructions for integrating my blog and bbpress correctly.
However if I log into my blog (which is here) I am not also logged into bbpress (which is here). If I then log into bbpress, I am logged into both.
How can I make it so that when someone logs into either they are logged into both?
Editing profiles
None of my bbpress users can edit their profiles, including me. If they change anything on their profile page and click Update Profile, nothing happens
Can anyone help me with these two problems? Are they related?
Digg Integration
Published on June 21st, 2008 byin wordpress to integrate digg in a posts automatically I use code like this digg_url = '<?php the_permalink() ?>'; This does not work (obviously) in in bbpress, so can anyone tell me what the equivalent of the permanlink is?
Work in progress
Published on June 21st, 2008 byHere is the current plugin I’m working on. It deals a lot with just adding files to the root and editing profile.php. So far I’ve set up the blog, where you’re able to make a post (see image), edit/delete it, and display it on the user page. All I need to do is set it up so it can be used for users to create their own blog.

Other features in the works are:
Comments (as you can see in the preview)
Music Player (going to make it so that it grabs from the server and displays a flash player)
About Me, Friends section, etc
Choice of theme for profile
Galleries
… And whatever else I can think of. As I’ve said, it’s work in progress.
viewing photos inside the post
Published on June 20th, 2008 byI’ve installed 2 plugins which are 1.bbPress Attachments 2.Allow Images on my bbPress site. However, when users attached image files it shows only file name. How do I make the attached image files to be viewable on the post straight away? Please advice?
Thank you very much.
