I’m trying to upgrade BBPress 0.8.1 to 0.9.0.2.
I’ve followed the instructions to the letter and all is fine until I try and login as admin.
I get the message:
“Database upgrade required. It looks like your database is out-of-date. You can update it here”. When I click “Upgrade Database” after 10 minutes or more I get a php script timeout error.
Any ideas?

Seeking a consistent theme across WP and BBpress, I added:
require_once(‘../wp/wp-blog-header.php’);
to the top of my bb-config.php file.
Everything is looking good from the aesthetic perspective but the bb-admin section now won’t load. Also, try and close/move a topic for example won’t work as they rely on functions loaded in the admin section.
Should add, I am logged in as the admin. I’m not redirected, just get a blank page, which on my host indicates a php error. Also, I commented out the require_once line in BB-config.php and it went back to working fine (though I then, of course, lose my consistent theme).
Any ideas?

I haven’t added a link between wp and bbp to make logging in easy, but my forums are at http://nohypereviews.com/nhr/community/
When a user is viewing a forum the “Add New>>” link doesn’t seem to work. It updates the URL in the address bar, and a page loads, but there’s no input field. It’s just the regular forum.php page. I assume I’ve accidentally deleted a line somewhere, but what was it and where?
I’m using a heavily modified kakumei theme, if it helps.

XDForum, another WordPress forum plug-in, stopped development a few months ago.
For anyone considering converting their XDForum to BBPress, I’ve posted detailed instructions for converting XDForum tables to BBPress tables on my site. The instructions include a method for tagging your existing content.
I looked for something like this a few months ago and couldn’t find it. Hopefully, someone will find this useful. The result of the conversion can be viewed here…

My forum is using gmail for email setting. However my user can’t received email when registering using hotmail or yahoo but they received it using gmail. Does it has something to do with the email coding that caused the email to be block? If it is, i really hope you guys fixed it for the next version

Are permalinks meant to work with a WordPress integrated forum?
I configured my bbPress installation to use permalinks but clicking on one sends me to a 404 error page on my blog.

So I have intergrated bbpress into our website and it seems to be working pretty well. I used two plugins “private forums” and “approved registration”, which has also worked well.
A couple posters pointed out to me an issue today? The “add new topic” link pulls up the form to add a topic… but when you “send post” it gives an error message:
“This topics has been closed”
The only way for users to add a new topic is to choose the forum they want to add it to and then scroll down and use the form on the forums page. It works and with the small number of users is ok… but hopefully the number of users grow, which it will become an issue.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a fix?
Here’s the link to the bbpress on our site: http://www.ditschfitness.com/forum/
thanks
