I’m thinking of creating a forum permission plugin until it becomes a part of bbPress officially. Before I start, I was wondering whether a similar plugin already exists? From a search of these forums, and on Google, there is nothing out there that will allow somebody to limit posts by user group.
Is this because nobody has tried yet, or because its impossible?
Hi folks
Something that is most basic that is not quite spelled out on the home page. Is bbpress a plugin to a standard WP site, or a REPLACEMENT for a WP site? As I read the install instructions, it seemed to be a total replacement and I’ve already got my WP site up and running. I was just looking for better forum software to add than the W-P forums which don’t seem to allow image attachments…
Jeff
It appears that Admins are no longer able to remove other user’s tags.
The [x] appears, but clicking it results in an error page indicating the tag was not removed.
Hello !
I’ve found the plugin bbLaTeX, but the links don’t seem to work …
Do you know another LaTeX plugin for bbPress ( something that just replaces “[TEX]latex code[/TEX]” by an image with the URL : http://server/cgi-bin/mimetex.cgi?etc… ) ?
Thanks !
I would like to display the number of “voices” at the top of my forums, like in these bbpress support forums. My bbpress forums currently don’t do this, and I am wondering if this is something I can add?
The forum would show the same front page. But before a user can read a topic, he/she will be required to register / login.
This is to drum up the membership of the site.
Thanks!
I am using the tinypic mod in phpbb

This for me is the best image upload tool as it would upload your images without leaving the current posting form.
Thanks!
I just installed bbpress, it went mostly fine, I had to write the security keys myself to the config though. It’s supposed to be integrated with our WP blog.
Our bbPress is here: http://uni-bonn-medienwissenschaft.de/forum
PHP info is here: http://uni-bonn-medienwissenschaft.de/php_info.php
These are the errors I get when trying to login:

bbPress apparently recognizes when I’m logged into the blog and shows me as logged in on the forum as well. However trying to access the Admin area gives me another error:

Any help would be appreciated.
We are creating a wordpress website which requires secure forums for schools.
How it needs to work is: school forums will be set up for individual schools.
If you are parent and want to see YOUR SCHOOL forum – you will need to
a) click on your school from a drop down list of available school forums
b) register for this school forum
c) An administrator will confirm your registration (depends if you answered security question correctly)
d) From there you can happily view information (which may be confidential) on the school forum page and post/view information as well
FEEDBACK FROM DEVELOPER:
Simplepressforum – doesn’t allow us to do the above
We then Installed the WordPress MU and had a look at buddypress.
The type of functionality that we are looking for is not available in WordPress MU. Buddy Press is entirely build on the facebook concept, and not geared towards groups as we are looking for.
A solution might be to create a custom forum with all the functionality that is needed and just include it in an iframe in wordpress. Downside to this will be that the there will be 2 back-ends for managing the website, Word Press and the Forums.

Really don’t want to go custom design … I really though something like this would be simple to set up … excuse the pun …
Can anybody help?
