1. I installed the forums using same info as WordPress database
2. After installation it said forums were installed with minor errors -> “Forums not installed”. which contradict each other.
3. Every time I go to the forum page http://ohcean.com/bbpress/ it redirects to the install page http://ohcean.com/bbpress/bb-admin/install.php (which I removed, so now it’s a blank URL).
4. I activated the plug in in wordpress
5. I changed the cookies.
6. It’s still redirecting to the install page.
Why does it keep redirecting to the install page?

When I sign into my forum as admin and try to change the layout, it only gives me two templates to choose from.
How do I go about creating my own layout – colour scheme, banner across the top etc?

The latest version of bbpress0.9 (bbPress0.9.0.7), has been deleted from Trac effectively closing support for the bbPress0.9 branch.
This change (and indeed decision) was made 6 weeks ago.
- No blog post occured.
- No topic was opened.
- No post was made.
- You were not informed of this change.
Thankfully Gautam, who has been doing some amazing and thankless work on the bbPress1.0.3 branch, posted this information 20 posts down into a topic that isn’t fit for ‘sticky status’.
Also check https://trac.bbpress.org/ticket/1174#comment:3
This means that 0.9 branch would no longer be supported.

We thank you Gautam for your exemplary and constant development and your attempts to keep the bbPress community in the loop.
Cheers dude!

Hello,
I’m starting to modify the Kakumei theme and I’m kind of stuck; I’ve made a new folder in ‘my-templates’ and I copied over the style.css from the Kakumei theme. I plan to use it as a starting point for something more personal.
But there are is zero CSS being applied now: http://btko.webfactional.com/sq36/forums/
From reading the Docs I understood it that by just having the style.css bbPress should find all of the other files it needs from the default theme, but it doesn’t seem to be finding anything.
Any thoughts?
Regards,

Is there a way to change the strings in “topics.js” (in “bb-includes/js/”) without touching the core files?
For example, I would like to use a different string for ‘Add this topic to your favorites’.
Is this possible?
Thanks.

I get this no matter what I use
There was a problem connecting to the database you specified.
Please check the settings, then try again.
I am now unsure as to what my Database name and Database user plus password are?

Just a quick reminder, that we’ve now reached 6 months without a blog post on bbPress (13th Jan to 13th Jun).
And we haven’t been able to type code on the forum for the last 3 weeks, and 30% of the pages in the new theme haven’t actually been ported over; and basic links in the header and footer are no longer working.

The other big question in my mind is this.
Is bbPress going to live or morph into something else?
With the release of WP 3.0 just around the corner (I am already running WP3 RC2), what’s going to happen with bbPress then?
I am at a critical stage with my site’s development and I have to make a decision to jump one way or the other; partly because I just don’t have the time or money to develop two themes for one site.
Do I install bbPress on WP as a forum and use BuddyPress to access it? Or is something going to change and make the combination and integration of all the plugins for each and of WP3/bbPress/BuddyPress all too much of a royal pain in the petutie?
I wish someone could give me some clarity on the direction bbPress and BudyPress are going.
Someone. Anyone?
