Changing admin name

Published on August 6th, 2010 by ck13

I was just wondering how to change the admin name for my bbpress forum? Is this even possible?

Thanks!

I think I found a pretty severe posting bug…

Published on August 6th, 2010 by rajada

If someone copy/pastes a paragraph of text that has wiki formatting into a post, I can no longer view the page with the post on it (gives me a 404 error), nor can I use post administration (also gives me a 404 error). The only way to resolve it is to delete the entire topic in topic administration (hopefully there weren’t any posts you liked in it!). The test text I used was very basic, it was text with just a header and body, nothing more and it still caused the issue. It also contained “quotes” but not the straight up and down kind, the slanted kind.

I’m not certain if this is a known bug, or just my installation acting funny, either way, I really don’t want people purposefully or accidentally forcing me to delete topics, so any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, and yes I can still post/edit normal text to my forum so no its not my server acting up entirely.

Language support question

Published on August 6th, 2010 by notApro

Hi..

I was wondering..

When i’am ready with my WordPress/bbPress designs. what will happen when i change my language to Dutch in the wp-config.php en bb-config.php files?

Will my entire site be in Dutch language and what will happen to my plugins?

If a plugin doesn’t support Dutch language, will it crash or just work in English?

When will we know more about – and get to participate in – bbPress' future?

Published on August 6th, 2010 by Erlend

So a couple weeks back now there was a small rush of activity with concerns to various “what now”s when bbPress-as-plugin was made official. It’s been two weeks since there was any activity on bbdevel.wordpress.com, same goes for developer meetups and blog updates.

When will the community get to participate in the future of bbPress?

I know I could easily be throwing in feature requests at will, but it would be a lot easier to make relevant suggestions and inquiries if I knew what was going on in terms of design and code right now.

Still looking for 4 (working) plugins

Published on August 6th, 2010 by Joe Gibson

Greets –

Well, I’ve now asked about these in two other bbPress forums (subsections of WP forums) and have gotten nowhere fast, so I thought I’d run them through the official forum again:

•Live Comment Preview — I could get it to put the ‘Preview’ button on the page, but otherwise it’s dead in its tracks. IE reported an “error on page” when used.

•Post Notification — Notifies Admin when someone posts in the forum. Dead.

•Subscribe To Topic — Puts the little checkbox on the page but doesn’t do the notification part.

•After The Deadline — Spell-checker, doesn’t work with BB Editor.

Someone said that part of the reason they haven’t been updated is because the authors are waiting for the new ‘plugin’ version of bbPress to be released. That’s great, except it doesn’t do any good in the meantime — for what could be a fairly simple tweak of the original code. Both “Post Notification” and “Subscribe To Topic” look like they’d fall under that heading. If we assumed they worked once, and all they’re not doing now is the notification part, you’d think that wouldn’t be very difficult to fix.

Someone else suggested I downgrade to bbPress v0.9, but (1) my heavily-tweaked theme wouldn’t load and (2) neither Zaerl Editor or BB Editor worked, so I canned the idea.

Any suggestions for replacements or fixes for the above?

Thanks,

Joe

Sticky posts to top of list?

Published on August 6th, 2010 by Joe Gibson

Greets –

Is there a plugin or tweak that will display the ‘sticky’ topics at the top of the Topics list, rather than the bottom? I checked over the bbPress and Showcase sites and didn’t see anything.

Thanks,

Joe

What should I do if my topic will close without any reason?

Published on August 6th, 2010 by pagal

Hello, bbPress Mods,

I’m really confused that what I did wrong that you’ve closed my topic about Super cache. I think I just ask a question, I’ve searched about this issue over internet but I didn’t find any solution yet that’s why I’ve asked about it in bbpress ( believe me Kev, Just my name is Pagal, But I’m really not). I also searched about it in bbPress forums but did not find any authentic answer. I don’t know why people forcing me to search bbPress solutions from GOOGLE and trying to bug me off from this Support. :-(

I make you sure that I’ll not give any wrong reply to my “beloved” Kev about his sweet painful words. Its just a request to open my topic again.

Really Thanks,

P.S. This topic may be under “Requests and Faedback” Forum.

How Disable WP Super Cache Plugin for bbPress?

Published on August 5th, 2010 by pagal

No doubt its a really good plugin for wordpress

https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-super-cache/

But it not works with bbPress.

When I activate this plugin then wp works but I’m getting a blank screen for my forums,

Nothing in forums, nor in source code simple white page.

and my error log for bbPress

/path/to/wp/wp-includes/cache.php on line 93<br />
[05-Aug-2010 17:17:08] PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /path/to/wp/wp-includes/cache.php on line 93<br />
[05-Aug-2010 17:17:14] PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non

So, Simply I want to stop this plugin to work with forums.

I’m using

WordPress 3.0.1

bbPress 1.0.2

Deep integration.

If you could help, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

P.

I need help with integration

I have installed wordpress 3.0.1 and bbpress 1.0 inside the wordpress folder. They share the same database.

I have added the following lines to the wp-config before the mysql strings:

define( 'COOKIEHASH', 'd1f7eec6931cdc9bcabcda54b479078e' );
define( 'SITECOOKIEPATH', '/' );
define( 'COOKIEPATH', '/' );

And these longer down:

define('AUTH_KEY', 'Lut=fA6L$vvH;jt+<3$.Uu;-x$SScbTh}>I0$G7d8<code></code>%H]/%F<eFY

In the wordpress integration plugin I checked that the table prefix is set to wp_. Also the “auth”, “secure auth” and “logged in” cookies are locked as they have been matched.

The wordpress url is set correct and the bbpress integration plugin has been added and the bbpress url is set. I have deleted all cookies, but regardless I am not logged into bbpress when I log into wordpress.

I have mapped the users as key, moderator, member, member, member. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
