I just downloaded and installed bbPress 2.0-beta-2.3 so that I may use it’s forum capabilities in BuddyPress (downloaded the latest version today). However after activating the bbPress I can not access my website – I get the message as follows :
Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_post_type_archive() in /home/bodyw/public_html/healthworks/wp-content/plugins/bbpress/bbp-includes/bbp-core-compatibility.php on line 446
Does anyone have the slightest idea of what this may mean ? I have tried deactivating all my other plugins to make sure there is no clash but same result. i am using WordPress 3.1.3

I have a language file for 1.0.3 version of bbPress. May I use this for 2.0 beta version?
If yes, how can I change language option? I uploaded language file into bbp-languages but yhere is no bb-config.php file for plugin version to modify language settings.
I’ve installed 2.0 but when I go to /forums it just displays a blank page. How do I make a page like this site has listings topics etc?
Sorry if this is confusing. I installed buddypress through the wordpress plugins page. I then installed bbpress through buddypress. I have since uninstalled buddypress and bbpress and i am trying to now install bbpress on my server. Once loading all the files to my directory mysite.com/forums/ i then go to load the directory. The installing instructions do not come up i come to a bbpress page which shows “page not found”.
I am guessing the old install of bbpress is interfering? maybe in the database?

I’m using zaerl Visibility for private discussion. And I’m using one forum for per user. In other words, Whenever a user register, I create a forum for him….
So when a user enter in forums he can view latest discussion and his private forum in front page something like

1 – Lasted Topic one —
2 – Lasted Topic two —
3 – Lasted Topic three —
4 – Lasted Topic four —
25 – Lasted Topic 25 —

So, Its a user view, but for Admin, I can see all forums

So, for my view I can see a longest front page….. That’s why I want a pagination for forums, exactly like topics pagination…. Is it possible?

Will existing WordPress plugins work with bbPress 2.x? For instance, I’m looking for a rating plugin for bbPress 2.x. Can I use an existing WordPress plugin or a bbPress 1.x plugin? Or do I need to create a completely new one?

Firstly, just wanted to say thank you for the great plugin.
Secondly, this may seem like a ridiculous question and is probably just me being lazy. But, I was wondering if there is some easy way to organize my categories and sub-categories. I’m looking to organize these categories based on alphabetical order. Is there any way to do this other than deleting what I have and reinputing again manually based on alphabetical order?

I have the BBpress WordPress Plugin version installed on my WordPress site, and have found that from installation defaults, the lowest ranking user-role that can view the private forums is ‘Moderator’. The trouble with this, is that Moderators can edit other people’s posts, and I do not want all Users that can read and post in the private forums to be able to edit each other’s posts! Is there an easy way to change this? Ideally I’d want WordPress ‘Contributor’-level users and above to be able to view the private forums. I’d also like WordPress ‘Subscriber’-level users to be able to read the public forums but not post to them, but his is not as important, so no real problem if it cannot be done.
Sorry if this has been asked many times before, but I’ve read a bit about user-maps etc, but the discussions tend to be quite old and talking about the BBpress standalone, not the BBpress WordPress Plugin, so I am not sure if it works for the BBpress WordPress Plugin version(?). Just so you know, I am no kind of Coder – just an Animator – so am struggling with terminology etc. here.
