bbp-single-forum with topic limit?

Published on January 4th, 2013 by midnighz

Hi Everyone.

I have a simple question but I’ve search for its answer for a day and nothing to solve.

My question is, How can I use “” and limit its amount of return topics?
I would like to show only 5 recent topics in the page for specific forum. But bbp-single-forum displays all of them.

Or is there any alternative method for my requirement?

Thanks for advance for any help ^^

standalone bbpress v1.02 upgrade

Published on January 4th, 2013 by Flyhead

We have been running a standalone forum using bbpress 1.02 and would very much like to upgrade it to the current version, but want it to be a standalone entity without being an add-on. Is that doable? Where can I find instructions as how to do it?

Simple classifieds forum

Published on January 4th, 2013 by Volkshole

Installled this on my WordPress site

Is it just me or is incredibly complicated?

I want to make a simple classified forum on. My site

I made header. Classifieds.. Then wanted sub forum cars. But the topic is on its own and not even under the classifieds forum I created.. I am doing this on my iPad. Maybe that is my problem?

I want the forum to be called classifieds.. Then a section or cars. Then section for parts. Within each topic header I want to list cars for sale and in parts list parts separately.

Thanks in advance

Topic, page and reply link issue

Published on January 3rd, 2013 by baldwin

Dear all,

I have post this at plugin site, however, i want to post it here too since this was an issues and i want to increase the popular of this post so that the master or “sifu” can see and help… thanks
I am fresh to wordpress. I have install bbPress into my wordpress, and i face some serious issues.
By default, after I comment on a topic, it should be refresh the page and show me my comment with “Awaiting Moderation”. However, it’s some time do not refresh and stay in same page, it will link me to the main topic pages.
After I set the topic and reply under “Per Page” section to 1000 per page, this issue do not occur anymore. But problem is reader do not like so many topic or comment in 1 page. It’s seems that bbPress by default do not have a solution in the code to link correctly between the topic pages?
For example, if I set under “Per Page” section, 10 post per reply. When this topic have more than 10 reply, the 11 reply will go to page 2, here the issue will start. anyone post after page 11 will be link to wired page/link or the page will display “Oh bother! No replies were found here!” or “page 404, not found”.
Anyone have a solution on this? Any help is appreciate…
Thanks

Language file isn't working

Published on January 3rd, 2013 by gregfielding

For some reason my language file isn’t taking…

I’ve used poedit to edit bbpress.pot and have created bbpress.po and bbpress.mo files which I have moved here:

/public_html/testingbaret/wp-content/languages/bbpress/bbpress.po

But the changes aren’t showing. Any ideas?

Here is the forum… http://www.testingbaret.com/questions/ask-your-questions/

Forum shows up as blog posts for members

Published on January 3rd, 2013 by hatherley

I can’t really tell when this happend, if it was due to one of the latest bbPress updates. But it should have been 2-3 weeks ago. Here’s the forum.

As a logged-in member the bbPress forum threads shows up as regular blog posts, making the forum unusable. This doesn’t affect administrators (WP admin) or non-logged in visitors.

I’ve tried using the tools to rewrite the privileges but nothing has worked so far. I’ve also tried changing the roles, both the WP and Forum privileges. But it’s only when I change the user to Administrator (aka Keymaster) that the forum renders properly.

Any help would be very much appreciated! 🙂

Changing the E-mail Notification Address

Published on January 3rd, 2013 by ianbee

Hi, I have this small little issue regarding the e-mail address’s whenever someone receives and e-mail from my BBpress forum, or even when I receive an e-mail from my site regarding BBpress. Whenever someone signs up as a user on my forum, they get an email from username@box551.bluehost.com with their username and password. I have no idea why it’s from username@box551.bluehost.com, because my admin settings are set up for a different gmail account. I was on the phone with bluehost (my web hosting company) for a good hour and they tried everything they could and finally suggested that it was on BBPress’s end, and not theirs. So how would I change the default e-mail address to username@gmail.com and not username@box551.bluehost.com when ever myself or a registered user to my BBpress forum receives an e-mail?

I’m running the latest version of WordPress with BBpress 2.2.2.

Any help would greatly be appreciated! 🙂
