Hi all, not sure why but my forum index is in bullet points. My theme maker said it was 100% compatible with bbpres…. Can someone help?

I have done some moving around, importing and exporting forums to have user groups with public and private groups. For some reason, I’m getting a 404 error now when trying to pull up the replies through the backend of wp. It was fine before, what did I do?

I have installed bbpress on multiple wordpress sites and seem to always have the same issue. On the main forum index page it says 0 voices and 1 posts no matter how many posts you create this never changes. Being that this has occurred on every site that I have included bbpress and being different themes and installs I can only conclude that I must be missing something when I set it up.

If anyone can help I would appreciate it….because you cannot run a forum that says there is only 1 post in it 🙁

Also I use no shortcodes, I just install bbpress then go to http://www.example.com/forums and start posting.

As an admin, when I press the edit button on any post it takes me to what should be the editing url (www.website/forums/post/edit/) but I get a 404. When I am logged in as a user there is not even an edit button, even though I set the edit time to be 99999 minutes. I’m using a Twenty Thirteen Child Theme, with the permalink setting being postname. Is there some sort of edit.php in the bbpress folder that I have to move to my theme folder? User pages also come up as a 404. I reset permalinks, disabled the forum slug prefix and disabled my plug-ins except for BBPress and it still doesn’t work! Any help would be really appreciated.

I wondered if anyone had any advice for importing larger forums,
I run the importer and get 140k topics imported, replies are hanging around the 12k mark ( there are 800K posts on the original forum).

Ive changed php.ini max execution times etc so I no longer get errors there.
Ive tried this on my server and also locally with no joy.

I’m sure this is a long shot but I thought I’d ask.

I’ve created a plugin so user can change there avatar image on a page I have created called settings.

I’d like to put a link on the admin profile page to my settings page.

I can add a link in the user-profile.php page but I don’t really like changing the core files.

Is there a hook I could use to add a link to the admin page

Here’s an explanation:

Forum A
Sub-forum A1
Sub-forum A2
Forum B
Sub-forum B1
Sub-forum B2
So when viewing Forum A’s page, I’d like to show sub-forum A1 and sub-forum A2. and below sub-forum A1 and sub-forum A2 like to show recents topics from sub-forum A1 and sub-forum A2.

in Admin side, I see the number of replies, but can only see the last reply in the list!

I’m hoping someone can help me with this! As I upload pictures for profiles within my theme, the avatars displayed in bbpress for ‘last updated by’ and ‘started by’ are huge. I found a code that works, but unfortunately this also gets rid of the avatar in the post which I want to keep.

Hey everyone, I’ve been working on a project over the last month that was working perfectly on my local Mamp server. When I migrated the site to my clients server for testing I was disappointed to find that neither topic creation or reply posting was working.
I’ve disabled all plugins except bbPress (even though they all worked on my server), reset permalinks and I know the theme I created wasn’t a problem because it worked perfectly in dev.

I’m a little stressed at this point as this week was supposed to be for testing and final rollout and that’s all come to a screeching halt without this basic functionality.
Would really appreciate any help I can get with this.
