http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-gregs-high-performance-seo-gregs-high-performance-seo-kills-bbpress
It took me a lot of trial and error, deactivating and activating of plugins to figure out what the problem was with my bbpress.
I don’t know what, why or how, but there is some problem between bbPress and Greg’s High Performance SEO. If Greg’s is installed, bbPress does not work – your forum root will seem ok enough…but if you click on any forum, the forum’s topic listing page will not list any topics, and the topic page will not show the discussion or any response options.
This is sad because I have come to like Greg’s High Performance SEO…but because I have decided, for many reasons, to move from phpbb to bbPress, I hope a fix is found soon.
Will need way more specific information to be of any help. Links to sites, versions of WordPress/bbPress, etc…
@MTPower – Age old WordPress and bbPress UX issue. Could use some ajax to make it easier. bbPress 2.0 solves this, and when we update bbpress.org it will no longer be an issue. (You could have also used the link in the upper left, but it’s easily missed.)

@acoburn4 – Sadly you won’t be able to. Because all of WordPress is being rewritten to /blog, it would take some server level rewriting to make your forums work below it. Even then, I am not sure it would really work. You’ll want to make your entire site run at website.com, create two pages: /blog and /forums, then setup each the way you want them to be.

Is there a way to Create a corresponding Forum post when you create a WordPress post? With cross- Commenting capabilities?
Also, users are able to edit the admin’s profile.
I upgraded to 3690 and then back down to 2.02 with no results.
I defaulted the WordPress theme to twenty_ten no results.
Installed capability manager and verified that users were able to view forum information.
I’m having a problem where Admin is able to see their user information and all forum data but all other accounts are directed to a blank page.
This is the “local” address users get sent to http://pcocs/forums/users/skingsford/
This is where admins are directed. http://pcocs/forums/users/admin/
They have “gform_full_access”
I’m using the latest version of wordpress(3.3.1) and bbpress (2.02). I nuked everything related to bbpress including the db entries. reinstalled, and the same issue is occurring.
Disabled all plugins, and re-activated the plugin. Still unable to access user profile as another user. Able to access profile in dashboard.
Rebuilt the permalinks.
No themes, no plugins, just default data.
Any thoughts on what would cause this to occur?
I have WordPress installed on my server in a directory “wordpress.” My users can access this installation by going to http://website.com/blog
I would like to have the same effect happen for the bb-press plugin when someone accesses http://website.com/forums
How can I set this up?

Hi,
I tried to change some settings on the BP plugin today, and suddenly I lost access to the admin area of my site. This happened when I tried to change settings for the Register page, I tried to activate it (as Register and Activate pages were not activated).
I get access to the site if I delete the plugin, but the same error if I try to reinstall with a completly new version of the plugin.
By using the WP-DEBUG I get two errors:
Notice: Constant WP_MEMORY_LIMIT already defined in /home/noess/domains/kenta.no/public_html/idrett/wp-content/themes/canvas-buddypress/functions.php on line 4
Notice: wp_enqueue_script ble kalt feil. Scripts og stiler bør ikke være registrert eller “enqueued” foran wp_enqueue_scripts, admin_enqueue_scripts eller init. Vennligst se Debugging i WordPress for mer informasjon. (Denne meldingen ble lagt i versjon 3.3.) in /home/noess/domains/kenta.no/public_html/idrett/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3587
Anyone know what to do? Can I manually reset the setting for Pages in the BP plugin?
I found my problem. I had created a forums page in wordpress when I was testing some things. I had trashed it, but not permanently deleted it. Looking in the database, I noticed the entry. Once I permanently deleted it from my pages list, my forums list showed back up.
This seemed like a brilliant solution, but I’m sure I’m doing something wrong.
I already had a “forums” page, with the short code in place. The page slug is “forums.”
So, I figured I would make a template called page-forums.php, thinking that WordPress’s template hierarchy would take over… no such luck.
I will watch the vid when I get off the train. I’m sure the answer appears within the first 30 seconds…
Does this plugin convert the comments to Topics?
OR
it converts the posts to topics?
I really need to convert my comments to topics and have discussion over there.
my url is palestinefacts.org
you can see there is very long homepage so i need to convert them to forums.
I think you should install Capthcha plugins. Search one for in Google.

@OC2PS
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Yes, uses the WordPress/bbPress permalink setup, so whatever you use for that, is what is used for the conversion.
4. nope 301’s are your job
5. Username/password and I think a couple other fields are imported, don’t remember exactly. If you are looking for full blown imports, which is different for each installation as you have different plugins installed than I do… then that would be a custom import job which AWJunkies does provide services for. Check the http://bbconverter.com site and send in a custom quote request.
@ED
No idea. Frankly the interest in converting things has been much less than we anticipated. I have no idea what AWJunkies plans are at this point. I do know he does provide custom import services if you need it.
Just a quick mention: Wouldn’t it be cool to reblog posts from around the web via any bbPress forum? Much like BP Links (and Facebook of course), just better for proper discussion since it’s on a forum.
If WordPress.com’s reblogging feature could be adapted for bbPress, I think it’d be a killer feature.
im using a multisite installation of wordpress… by super admin, the network administrator was meant
today made a fresh install of wordpress 3.2.1 and bbpress 2.0.2, all default settings…
i created only a forum with one topic… the userprofile(and edit) does not work…
on non multisite wordpress everything worked as expected…..
what information should i provide to help investigation?

I’m quite surprised that you started off with platforms (vbulletin and invision) that are jointly less popular than phpbb. But I suppose one of the plugin developers had forums that used those platforms and I’m glad to be able to benefit from your hard work.
You have mentioned in the plugin description that conversion for phpbb is coming *soon*, and I was wondering if you might be able to provide some updates on that.
Finally, am I correct in assuming that bbconverter
i) imports topics and forum hierarchies into bbpress
ii) including the relations between topics and forums
iii) and slugs for topics and forums
iv) generates an .htaccess to place in the old forum directory so that old URLs are 301 redirected to new ones.
v) imports users including profiles, passwords, signatures and roles
I have installed the bbpress plugin into my WordPress site (my site uses a child theme of twenty-ten). I created a couple of forums leaving the defaults for showing “forums” as my base forums slug. Navigating to http://mysite/forums was showing my list of forums as I expected. I made some changes but then reverted them and now the base page is empty. I can still get to my individual forums, but I can’t seem to get the listing to show back up on my base forums page.
Things that I changed
* temporarily disabled base slug but then re-enabled it
* temporarily switched to the twenty-eleven theme but then switched back to my twenty-ten theme
We’ve done a little tutorial video to show how you can setup either a BuddyPress Group Forum, a SiteWide bbPress 2.0 Forum, or a custom hybrid forum page using shortcodes. You can have all three at one time. Hope this helps

I have a WordPress Blog and want to link to a bbPress forum site through a button in the main menu of the blog template (Forex Titan). I can’t figure out how to do this. I change the html code but it changes back to the original WordPress permalink. Is there a plugin to change the link URL’s in the permalinks?
I have integrated bbpress in to my existing wordpress and everything is working great except it’s impossible to read the comments stuff. The background is white and the writing is yellow and sometimes white which you cant read at all.
How do I change these colors
Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Pat
Hi
In my case that user/pass was the same. Both places it says, that the user does not exists.
What could I do?
