Thanks for sharing information…
Even though having installed both properly. Having in bbpress set up correctly the wordpress integration settings as well as in buddypress having setup the forum to the bbpress.
When I log into buddypress, and then click on my forum tab that points to the bbpress forums I set up. a user has to log in again! Is there a way that when I log in through the buddypress side the bbpress also gets logged in also?
Thank you for your help!
Best
Jules
I have an installation of bbPress 1.0.2 fully & successfully integrated into WordPress 3.0.1 with no known issues.
I’ve uploaded/FTP’d 4 different themes into my ‘my-templates’ folder, and I can see them now on my Admin Dashboard/Appearance panel, however, none of them work. I’ve checked and rechecked my folder & file permissions; set to 755 & 644 respectively.
Also, in the appearance panel, none of them show their screenshots (if thats even important) like the kakumei themes do.
Any ideas?
Your not an admin anymore, is your bbpress linked with a WordPress install?
Edit: Perhaps the old installs of bbpress didnt have the Keymaster role?

We learnt bbpress is somewhat linked with wordpress.
However, according to our testing result on wp latest version, it is certainly not vulnerable to this issue.

Hi Zaerl, You are a great person, your method is working like charm.. thanks brother..
@Markus your method is also working, thanks for your time.
– One more question, Like in WordPress you can highlight the author comments in his/her post. I’m searching the almost same way with diffident edge
In my case – usually/mostly Keymasters (Like Matt on bbPress) don’t write in their forums, they are busy guys. When they will came back that would be excited to highlight them?
— So, Is it possible to highlight a specific author/keymaster/admin’s every post?
I want to highlight all Keymaster’s posts in my forums.
Thanks again.

Thanks, I got the report.
This is interesting.
Do you find that WordPress fails this test too? Because it uses a very similar routine.
I feel the problem should be addressed in function wp_sanitize_redirect which would solve it cross-platform.

I was able to find the bb-config.php and add the keys.
This seems to have got me connected via pp-admin.php
I already have a my-plugins.php file and have added the wordpress integration plugin.
Is the one you suggest made to work with what I have or do I use one or the other.
Thanks for the help

Right, there is no official manual.
Find the integration guide on this page – http://blog.ashfame.com/bbpress/
Try this plugin for sync – https://bbpress.org/plugins/topic/wordpress-bbpress-syncronization/
Create my-plugins folder with 755 permissions in root of bbPress and put plugins there. You can activate them from dashboard after login.
P.S. – Being to the point doesn’t hurt. Write as much required.

Humm well asking where’s the manual is pretty clear. I would think All you had to say was there wasn’t one, which doesn’t make sense. I’m not a noob. I would be glad to RTFM
I can delete everything and install it myself if that is where it says how to do a “an integrated install with WordPress”
My needs as you ask are to have clear instruction on how to install this script and sync it with wordpress. It appears their are none so I will ask some simple questions.
Should I start over with fresh install in order to have everything sync properly?
How do you activate the plugins?
What files are used to do “an integrated install with WordPress”?
What needs to be changed in those files? If Any?
Does anything in wordpress need to be changed such as user permissions.
Thanks in advance for any links or information for completing the set up of this script
Thanks

Anonymous UserInactive
Hi,
Does any of you the current “trunk”version of bbPress? Since the last version of 9 days (mdawaffe) shows my forum a PHP Warning: “Invalid argument supplied for foreach (@ 2718)”- caused by the file functions.bb-users.php. It seems as if the function expects an array, but not get!?
A Google search for the error message brings up only my own forum.
Has anyone found this problem, too?
My forum url: http://www.mysteria3000.de
I use the trunk version of bbPress with the Beta 2 of WordPress 3.1.
Perhaps the reason is a change in handling users in WordPress?
I am grateful for solutions.
Greetings
Markus Pezold

I doubt if your host even did an integrated install with WordPress?
If you want WP sync, there is a plugin for that. Can’t recall if it requires integrated setup. Please be clear about your needs instead of a story in paragraph, hard to make out of it.

If you use WordPress, then bbPress is going to be a really good long-term option as it will soon mean the best integration with your website.
My main experience is with both phpBB and SMF and they feel like archaic pieces of software that are a pain to integrate and design for. Both also have big spam problems unless you customise the registration form. I think bbPress is protected by Akismet which is a different league to what the others have.
Another option similar to bbPress is Vanilla http://vanillaforums.org
My current preference is bbPress, but only if you don’t need to install too many plugins as it increases the chance of things going wrong when updating.

1. Some plugins need some editing, but its usually minimal and with details on how to. Most plugins however do not need editing or knowledge of php.
2. Right now Automattic is working on a bbPress plugin for WordPress their main blogging platform. I’m guessing most support will go too that. But some support remains on the official bbpress.
3. All populair forum software has spam problems.
4. Core changes arent neccesairy, just hook it in. Although this will require some php knowledge.
